Fun Fact: When John goes to the Club to kill the kid and starts with the bodyguard outside, He says, "You've lost weight" and Francis Replied "Over 60 pounds". This was actually a test AND a code between the two. John was testing him to see if he would help him (which is why he lets him go and tells him to take the night off) and Francis replies Over 60 pounds (or 27 kilograms), a code for nearly 27 security guys/henchman protecting the boy. This is also being used in the military forces around to world too. VERY cool way to again show us how much of a badass and how respected John Wick is. Also thee one thing I like about Keanu Reaves is the amount of effort he puts into a role. You can find videos of his training sessions for these movies where he spends countless time at a gun range training with all sorts of guns to the point where he knows how each gun he handles will behave IRL and will actually handle them accordingly for things like checking to ensure the weapons are not jammed. You will see him handle a pistol in the second John Wick movie where he will kinda toss the gun in his hand a little to press down on the chamber because the pistol he is using at that time is known for having bullets getting jammed and is checking the chamber to make sure it is clear enough to fire. Keanu also went through 4 months of training, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day to bring his character to life. He also went through Judo, Japanese Ju-Jutsu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. So Keanu is that accurate and deadly in real life. You can find a few videos of his trainings with a company known as Taran Tactical. About Perkins getting killed, the Continental has a strict policy on killing on hotel grounds. That hotel is essentially the neutral location for the assassins so no killing is allowed there. Anyone who does, well you see the result.
That knife at the end probably went straight through Vigo’s subclavian artery. Being one of the major arteries, it would explain why he didn’t last long. With its location, it’s not something you can easily tourniquet, and if you can’t stop the bleeding, you have about 2-20 minutes to live.
Lots of people have given good trivia about this movie so I'll add my two cents worth. 1)In the club fight scene Keanu Reeves had a temperature of 104° and continued to film. 2) The film was originally going to be called Scorned but Keanu could never remember the name. Here's a fun fact about the puppy Helen got for John. The puppy, IRL, wasn't used to Keanu, so the people behind the camera rubbed bacon grease on his face for the dog to run to him, licking his face when he wakes up in the morning. Whatever works.
When the allstate guy shot at John one time when he was in the car then laughed is because Viggo gave him his gun, the one he shot Marcus with, and it only had one bullet in it. So, the laugh was about Viggo screwing him.

An ancient order called Assa-sins used to accept only gold as payment (weight in gold) for their services such as espionage, murder, or counterintelligence. It adds to the believability of the movie since there is precedence in real history. Some even argue that this is the origin of the Beggars Guild in China's past as well as the Ninja of Japan. I I like how he takes ownership of his kill with continuous eye contact terrorizing his prey till the end.
had Viggo just told his son about John (who he is, what he used to do, what he looks like, who his wife is, what his car looks like, etc), Iosef would still be alive. He's blaming his bad parenting on everyone else.
I think the reason there was no theatrics when John kills Viggo's son is because John just views it as something that had to be done. I don't think he has any emotion when it comes to that side of him, so when that switch got flipped, he was basically just putting in his 8 hours of work. Killing Viggo's son was just like us clocking out for the day.

Going off of your question about "how would you be if you were the son of a gang leader?", you are right that how you grow up would likely influence how you would end up. The only pathway that would be hard to go down would be the moral path. If a son of a gang leader wanted to be an honest and decent person, the others in the gang might not let that happen so easily.

John Wick serie is imo a masterpiece and I'm very happy you're reacting to it. Love your content buddy :) Edit: so I am yet to see if you figure out why Marcus took Vigo on the contract or not, so just in advance imma say that at no point was he going to kill John. He agreed to it the moment he heard that the contract was open, which meant that there were multiple assassins going to try and kill John, so he agreed to give him a bit more protection in case John ended up in a tight spot (and as we see later in the movie he actually did lol)
yeah as it's established pretty well, but there's an entire network of the underworld and organizations, in this series you never know who's gonna be the next hitman or gangster to appear on your doorstep, that taxi driver, that mailman, that random mother walking down the street, that guy with a dog walking at 7am each morning, you never quite know who's gonna know who, and I love it lmao New sub btw
21:45 IDK why but I really love that way of saying how many guard are in the building, sounds so casual but in reality it's just the begining of a massacre, and for aplus Wick's is so benevolent that he spares his life.
also john nearly never misses shots except the bathhouse club ones on iosef, its believed he either guided him or miscalculated the warping of the glass inbetween
It's amazing you've gotten this far with no knowledge of John Wick! Then again, not many people expected much when it first came out, and it really blew up.
So many great details in the movie, like during the bathhouse fight, John is in blue light, while the hetchmen is in red light, when they start sparring, it becomes purple to build up tense. Also, Viggo does through a journey of becoming increasingly drunk, going from nice high end alcohols, not taking up the drink Marcus made, to cheaper beer to weed, perfect. I also would say Marcus was a real homie for looking after John.
I lot of professionals use the Mozambique drill (2 shots to body, 1 to the head) it is very effective for a kill and allows you to shoot then move away without concern you are turning your back on a potential threat. I was based out of NYC and was in the D train heading to the Bronx. Saw a transit cop shot and killed no one gasped screamed or even stood up. I could not act because of the assignment I was on but called it in and the train was stopped in the tunnel till the caught the 3 thugs.
Now a lot of people complain about why John let himself get stabbed but they forgot that John has nothing to lose. He doesnt care if he dies later on as long as he makes it home. John drove to the Vet clinic to patch up his wounds, still thinking whats the point of living, until he saw a dog that is about to be put out of commission. And he continues to live on for his wife(but for how long🤫)
It's not that. John intentionally directed the knife into a wound that ALREADY EXISTED and would likely not cause much more damage than was already done, in order to take possession of the knife after using the leverage it created to break Viggo's arm. Almost NOTHING John does in this movie is out of lack of self-preservation or apathy, EVERYTHING is calculated.

About Perkins getting killed, the Continental has a strict policy on killing on hotel grounds. That hotel is essentially the neutral location for the assassins so no killing is allowed there. Anyone who does, well you see the result.
John could have killed her in self-defense without repercussion. He let her live because, like Francis, she gave him information.

The gold coins have no monetary value. One gold, one body removal. One coin, one club entry. It’s almost more like a trade of services.

Yeah, let's hope no bodies are in sight.
*10 seconds later* *Looks at body*
"You working again John?"
yeah as it's established pretty well, but there's an entire network of the underworld and organizations, in this series you never know who's gonna be the next hitman or gangster to appear on your doorstep, that taxi driver, that mailman, that random mother walking down the street, that guy with a dog walking at 7am each morning, you never quite know who's gonna know who, and I love it lmao
New sub btw
21:45 IDK why but I really love that way of saying how many guard are in the building, sounds so casual but in reality it's just the begining of a massacre, and for aplus Wick's is so benevolent that he spares his life.
also john nearly never misses shots except the bathhouse club ones on iosef, its believed he either guided him or miscalculated the warping of the glass inbetween
Hell yeah man welcome to the wonderful bloody world of John Wick! These movies are so sick.
Winston (the hotel owner) is an ex MI6 agent.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard “oh my god” and “damn” dropped so many times in one CZcams video
i can't wait to see your reaction to Wick 2, then 3, and 4
Cant wait to see your reactions to the next 3 films epic reaction to this one
It's amazing you've gotten this far with no knowledge of John Wick! Then again, not many people expected much when it first came out, and it really blew up.
I sure as hell didn't expect this movie when I first watched this...the goosebumps I felt that day lay the foundation of why I love this movie 😂😂
Great reaction bro!
Nice philosophy at 9:18. Great mind boggling thought ! I give a like for it !
Man said "Is that Reek?" I lost it! Lmao
The legend of HIM
The bodyguard at the door is Kevin Nash
A wrestler who is 7 feet tall
I love the respect
Thank you, sir
W man’s u gotta watch the rest . Became a subscriber like a month ago randomly
Imagine... he is not just any hitman...
He's the one to kill those, a powerful crime lord, syndicate, mafia etc... is terrified of...
Joe Rogan did a great interview with the director few months back when mbr 4 came out they talked about how as a first time director he got all these famous actors and stuntman for the series. Very good one
