Lance's mc5 is jn the shop today for a new clutch. it has recently started to slip and with adjustments maxed out we went ahead and ordered a new clutch for it.
Nice work Tyler Iron man is a beautiful bus Lance has a real gem 💎 there I can't wait to have you and your dad take a look at my 84 MC9 someday soon I hope. I know you will take good care of her. The world needs more great mechanics like you and your dad. Happy New Year to you and the family Tyler
Hey Tyler, Yet another really interesting, really informative offering. You make authentic content and demonstrate an admirable amount of that ability to not only apply what you have learned but also that intuitive trait where you can take several divergent experiences and blend that knowledge to what you are now facing. All the above plus you explain stuff with the best of them!!
Everytime I think what a great camper a bus would make, I watch these videos of engine/transaxle access and quickly come to my senses. Let's hear it for truck style flip up hood and fenders! I admire your work but don't want to trade places with you. Great video!
GOOD JOB Tyler. Great video while working and like the commentary, you breakdown the process of how it was built and reverse it. That is how successful mechanics work. HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO YOU AND DAD AND FAMILY. THANKS st eve in rhome Texas
You seem to be working pretty steady with your Dad and I suppose the odd thing off site, but I'm hoping that that's really worked out well for you and your Dad? All the best from Canada
In the beginning of the video, you mentioned that 'this should be quick', pointing to the replacement clutch laying on the floor...can you resurface the flywheel at your shop, or do you have someone nearby with a table mill that can? I personally NEVER go into ANY big diesel clutch job without KNOWING that I'm probably going to have to resurface that flywheel! I've taken in what appeared to be PERFECT flywheels, to find that they have terrible face warpage....and while you'll often see it on 'frequent stops' vehicles (buses, dozers, etc.) it can show up on 'long haulers', too. General rule, my local machinist can table a flywheel for $50...and it will make that new plate seat LIKE NEW with a few extra years of life...money well-spent.

Usually within extensive modifications an auto swap to an mci requires you go to a 6v. Not that being said rick does have a mc5b with an 8v71 and an auto. That's the only one I know of that has that combination.
I have experienced the clutch gripping better in reverse. You make a good teacher, Tyler, but sometimes you get to talking too fast and some of our old, slow ears miss important things you say.
clutch couldn't have been slipping that bad, I didn't smell it from here . . .
Hey on your next video we'd kinda like to know how your bus bill is going it's kind of throw a couple words and appreciate it
And this is why I want an MCI, my father changed the clutch in our 96 courier in a field with just a few tools, all because the cradle rolls out.

Happy New Year to you and your family including Leroy
Hopefully Ironman’s clutch won’t become a “Hey Laaaance” kind of job.
@@user-ln7of9gs4s keep looking, it is in there :)
Enjoy your narrating what is going on all these projects you work on. Happy New Years to you, and all the commentors here. Dennis in Miami. Bless

We have a machine shop local for it if needed as well as a spare flywheel. But we always inspect and measure prior to sending it out.
Just convinced me that I don't want a bus.
Happy New Year from San Antonio, Tyler!! So good to to see a new vid! ☮🖖
Happy New Year. One bolt at a time and it will be yours. Easy to follow what is going on. Nice work. I hope your bus is doing well.
All the very best for 2022 Tyler!
Good Luck with the rest of it. After all it is Lance's bus.
Happy New Year Tyler from Australia! Cheers Drew

Hi Tyler just found your channel throguh your dads love you'll
Good job.
Big job
wow remind me never to buy that bus.
I did a car transmission put a clutch in I can't imagine how much stuff you're going through to put a clutch in the bus
That bus is sooo cherry
Looks like thermostats are leaking bit..might be bood time for replacing them.
Have not seen any videos on Larry... lately. ?
Well dang. Where's the next video?
It'll be on patreon today and probably set to live sometime tomorrow on here
Where's that pretty Flxible? LOL
An Allison 740 would be a good transmission for one of those if he ever wanted to go automatic with it.

@@Spyke383 I've seen a custom 8v92 with an auto in a mci mc5. I'm currently trying to talk my boss out of a '69 mc5 with less than 200k on it.
