I agree but it’s not showing skin that always makes an outfit inappropriate it’s the intention, you know what I mean? Like we shouldn’t romanticize the days when covering children entirely was considered good and girls who wore normal clothes are s1uts. Crop tops and short shorts (not booty shorts) r fine. I think (example) pretty little thing loungewear set with ruching on the butt and chest that shows no skin is inappropriate. And I think a hooters crop top is inappropriate. It’s about s3xualizing which can involve showing skin. It’s about how the clothes are showcasing the body. Are they showing skin/wearing it to be seen s3xy? Also you know blue Ivy wears crop tops and short (mid thigh) dresses.

Yessss … some of the replies I’ve come across on these pages are downright creepy and scary.
A lot of them are profile pictures of grown men with full on beards and typical boomer sunglasses - complete strangers to these young girls, creeping on them and calling them “beautiful”. Then you go look at these peoples’ profiles and look at who they’re following … it’ll make you queasy. Let’s not also forget the weird older women who also creep on the young teenage boys, as well. SHEESH. So gross.
The terrifying part about all of it is how open these young kids are with sharing every detail about their lives to complete strangers on the internet. They have grown up during the social media era of not understanding the concept of keeping IRL personal stuff off the internet, which was a complete 180° from how Gen X and Millennials were raised with the internet (we had TV PSAs that told the dangers of giving away real names online and everything).
Now, since companies make billions from social media from people sharing their every detail to sell off their info to target then with ads … kids today think it’s totally normal to be such an open book as if there’s zero consequences to how much they share.
Instead, it’s all out there for everyone to read - where they live, where they attend school, when they go to bed, where they’ll be going when they leave the house, if they’ll be alone with friends, if they’re home alone, etc. on top of giving out the most personal details that just shouldn’t be shared online no matter your age … and their parents? Not a single care in the world. Get those views, girlies~
All for these grown folks to creep on them, following them on all their socials, and constantly commenting trying to get noticed.
Then when something horrible happens, the parents sit and act as if they have no idea how it was possible. 😕
It’s incredibly sad … and society has gone so far down this path now where parents only care about their kid being the next big influencer to make bank with no care about the creeps stalking them that I don’t think it’ll get any better unless social media gets the big boot. It’s depressing.

Regrets is one thing, but I'm confused why no one's questioning their childhood, as in if something happened to them. I was messed with in my younger teenage years, and I didn't tell anyone till I was in my 30's. However, best believe people knew something happened to me due to my behavior making a drastic shift from 9th to 10th grade. Keeping that pent up anger is revealing as I reflect upon it in my adulthood too. Right now I hate my family, but I thought at the time it's my family and I only have one; finding comfort in the uncomfortable.

Same. Currently 17 years old, but I'm chasing to age up around 18 years old. I'm not saying things to act like these "teenagers", I had two people in my family destroyed my life and my self-identity
Guess what happened: *mental disorders and major depression.*
My body is not in a good shape, I feel sluggish all the time and I'm very cynical when it comes to interacting with people.
I cope all of them by watching anime and every day is a struggle.
I couldn't even focus on my studies, I give a whole deep thoughts about not able to graduate from high school since the exam format is SPM in Malaysia.
Don't tell me to get psychiatrist, mental health does not talk a lot among younger generations in my country since it's stigmatized as well.
Similar like Japan, the needs for elder people is increasing.
I did reach out for help but they didn't help a lot so which is a damn ass "thank you" (I went through narcissistic abuse for 10 years and here's what they said: "You should reconcile with your mom")
Reconcile with a shitty narcissistic mother who doesn't love me back, compare me, sexualise me and so on feels like I'm double suiciding right now- 💀
My mom and my stepsister destroyed what I have and fucking greats, my mom still controls my life
She doesn't want to see me happy.
Just from those memories I have is enough for me not to care for my SPM at all, my brain have been deteriorated just by living with them
Sorry that I vented out of nowhere, dear goodness it just got into me this much

Although, i remember my mother telling me to never envy somebody because you do not know what goes on behind closed doors, or in context, when the camera is turned off. And as i grew older, i saw the true meaning of it. I can't picture myself being forced to post content and sometimes questionable content and act "grown" in the name of making money, it is all off. I'm glad and eternally grateful my mom allows me to be a kid and still enjoy childhood, because once it's gone, one can never ever get it back, so I'm taking the chance to cherish it while i still have it

I know now that makeup is used to enhance what you already have, these influencers don’t just wear makeup. They permanently change their face so they constantly look snatched and damn near plastic. It’s scary, I feel so bad for these kids growing up now, they can’t escape this false reality that we’ve allowed to flourish. They’re seeing people their own age looking like they’re in their 30’s. That has to be so confusing for these kids. I’m 22 now and I never wanna look like those ppl. They all look the same, no personality, just ass shaking and talkin ab making money. Even from what we can see now it’s dangerous, damaging, and traumatizing. As for Alabama her persona/aesthetic changed from cutesy suburban girl to grown urban woman. Promiscuous is the wrong word in so many of these examples (clothing, photos etc.) and is even further damaging language for these kids. Promiscuity is an act, a very specific one. Either way, so sad this level of exploitation just continues to grow unchecked. It’s genuinely going to take some big legislation to stop parents from letting their kids become cash cows like this.

Thankyou, that annoyed me too! None of this stuff is ok for 13yrolds, but a girl or woman who dresses sexy isn't necessarily promiscuous, & if it's an adult woman, who cares if she _is_ promiscuous? Let's not be sl*t-shaming.

And I hope you understand what I meant. I never called any of these young ladies out of their name or insinuated they were doing such acts. I made sure to reiterate that when speaking on Alabama and her allegedly having numerous partners. However, in these photos, clothing, etc they can be perceived as such.

@@beth7935 Did I say any of them were "promiscuous"? No, I stated that's how their behavior can be perceived with how they dress and act. Let's stop with the accusation of sl*t shaming. We're speaking on children.

The problem is always the parent. I don't care if a teenager started a tiktok account and is now acting grown - it is always the parent who is at fault.
Children being exploited from an extremely young age - always online, no privacy, strangers having opinions and criticisms about them, can be detrimental to their mental health. Now these young girls you spoke of. I'm sure there is a multitude of reasons as to why they act the way that they do, but it also cannot be understated that they act like this out of a need for attention and validation. How sad is it that they have to constantly place themselves in such vulnerable situations for approval, attention, and validation - something they should be recieving from their parents/family

I feel so bad for Alabama Barker.
Also the grotesque obsession with Shanna Moakler by Kourtney Kardashian is fucking wild.

I'm almost 17, My birthday is September 20th 2006 and I'm not allowed to wear makeup, crop tops, have a boyfriend, and I got my first phone at 15 ( which my parents didn't buy) and it wasn't on. Couldn't call or text. I have a strict mom ( I don't have my dad in my life) and I'm grateful that I do. I'm not chasing boys, trying to have s*x, I don't wear revealing clothes . Sure I wear skirts, but that's because I like the school girl look, fariycore look, and Goth look. The one time I wore a crop top I took the initiative to put a long sports bra underneath that covered most of my skin and topped it with some High waisted jeans. My hair is usually short bubble curls that make me look a little older but NOT GROWN. I feel the women on the Internet could do a bit better at remembering that little girls are looking up to them, it's not the adult women's fault, but it's just the reality that's they are a main factor. So again I know it's not their fault but they could be a better example.

i’m fourteen and i kinda feel pressured a bit to grow up too much bc a bunch of my peers (mostly the popular people) are wearing adult like clothing or smoking/vaping so basically the stuff that my sister and her peers are legally allowed to do. i even heard this girl in my grade saying that she got high, and another girl saying she got a hickey from her bf and showed me. another girl i used to be friends with showed me that she was looking at p0rn which is disgusting. a boy in my grade has basically been coming to school high since like seventh grade but our teachers supposedly don’t even “notice”. but, this situation makes me feel so stuck like a child and I’ve always felt that way since i was a little girl. like, all of the popular girls in like third grade were getting new and expensive stuff and acting older than they are and it just weirds me out. ik y’all got bf’s but you don’t rlly need to impress anyone if they are. i’m trying not to be mean bc ik that since we are teens, we are *SUPPOSED* to act reckless and “find ourselves” but it’s just a little too far. especially for influencers. when i was like 8 or 9 i used to watch Piper rockelle because she used to be just like me (besides the boyfriend thing), we used to just be young girls having fun with our friends and dress up like kids. and now, she’s growing up rlly fast and acting like an adult and i don’t really know if it’s entirely her fault (because of the controversies with her mom) but yea. even her videos show stuff that girls our age group aren’t even supposed to do and it’s just awkward and embarrassing a bit. that’s just what i observed tho

This is my opinion as a 17 year old
I think the problem is less children wanting to be grown, because thats just a thing all children in most generations want. The problem is irresponsible parents putting them in adult situations and especially with putting them online, where a 16 year old wearing a croptop is something that if worn should only be seen by the company around her, such as fellow 16 yo boys. It being online is what puts them at risk because then its out of her hands who sees her. Especially when these underage girls wear bikinis, it should stay to their backyard pool day, not them posed up online. And it's part of the parents responsibility to look after the child in this era of a lot of teens life.
I myself if I post something is entirely anonymous, and never with my actual body in anything. I dont have insta or twitter or tiktok because my parents never allowed me to go on there because the point of those apps is to post pictures/videos of yourself and they don't want an audience looking at me. Not that I've been 100% protected, but you can never 100% protect a child from the internet in modern day, you can only guide them and set limits on what they see and can post. The parents in the video are unaware what other adults(directors, filmers) are encouraging at best and actively ruining their childrens lives at worse.

In about 10-15 years after possible drug abuse, alcoholism, possible baby daddy drama these poor young souls will look back and think “where was my mom and why didn’t she protect me”. Sad.

What I find interesting about the Alabama barker situation is that about 4 years ago she had a 20 year old creeping on her sending her dms (it was one of the members of the band echo smith)
