      @@IronEchoDesign Hey Rick, well I followed your tut using an old design but can't load it yet cause I might have stepped on some ones copyright, but the design is great! thanks. I'm a bit confused about the custom colour palette, I've checked out other vids but while I'm thinking it looks easy I screw it up, "who'd a thunk that?" do you have any vids that cover it? I couldn't see any. Thanks PS I'm getting by without custom palettes but?

    • @IronEchoDesign

      Do you mean the squares on the canvas? You can make the color palette with the Squares and Rectangles Tool. Draw open a square for as many colors as you want, and chsnge the fill for each one. I put the color pslette on the canvas for speed during the tutorial. It doesnt exist the first time i make a design, unless i bring in one I've used before.

    Oh wow! Thank you so much for teaching us these functionalities I wasn’t even aware of! Always got annoyed with the auto-scaling of strokes by size of objects! And the “objects…” with object layer dropdown is another thing I wasn’t aware of. Was having to do a lot of PowerPoint slide designs for an upcoming talk we do on biodiversity (client demands engaging data visualisation 😪), but once done I’ll be diving right back into Inkscape 🤩🤩🤩 such fun! As always, thank you.

    Can you make a video on how does Inkscape deals with colors for printing (CMYK)?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před 2 lety +1

      Now that's a great question. I'll do some more research on the subject. It comes up quite a bit as one of the program's drawbacks. From my experience with Print on Demand at least, the outlets I use have done great with RGB. However, I understand some high end printers and screen printing want CMYK.

    1. How do you center the round text, it doesn’t click when I try it.
    2. How do you save as .dxf and getting rid of the guide circles in the dxf ? They’re always included. Even when I made them transparent.

      You can create a color palette by making the squares with the square tool. If the color codes aren't listed in the description, one option is to screenshot the video and use color picker to fill the squares to match the video. Hope this helps!

      Hello! I've been there. I have an older laptop that I still use here and there. It crashes my Inkscape too when I try to do more complicated functions. I believe the problem is not enough RAM. There are ways to upgrade RAM on an old device, but at this point I'm probably going to wait until I have a need for a new laptop and go that route. Hope this helps!
