    Dear Emma and Cornelius,
    my brother found your youtube channel(s) a few days ago and we couldn´t believe that you two actually make youtube videos!
    We had the honor of meeting you two on our hiking trip this summer. We arrived at Tjäktja being mentally and physically exhausted from the trip but your kindness and hospitality really warmed our hearts. As cheesy as it sounds but you two inspired us to keep going and help others along the way too. We still have the packages of food you gave us to always remember you two amazing hut wardens! Tack sa mycket and greetings from Germany!

      Hi Anna and Tim!
      This comment made both my and Cornelius day. We are both sitting here with tears in our eyes now. We spent a lot of time thinking about how you guys were doing so its a relief to hear you even got inspired.
      I'm so happy you kept on going because it seems to me you guys are made of something special. Both me and Cornelius feel honored that we could be a little puzzle piece of your hiking adventure.
      Thanks you so much for commenting! Looking forward to see you out in the mountains again!

      @@EmmaaNilss Yes! Although I admit it was not in Sweden, but in Iceland. We hiked the Laugavegur trail and the huts were so far away from the civilization. It must be a big difference to stay there for the night only, in comparison of living there weeks or months and taking care of everything!

    Beautiful I remember hiking national parks for 6 weeks with 18 to 22 kilos on my back and it was very difficult, and it caused minor injuries repetitive strain injuries, I always hike with 3 hiking poles, well I need 2 of them for my tent also, now I would love to just day hike without putting stress on injuries,
    What a fantastic video, I would like to spend longer that 7 weeks out there as a hut warden 13 weeks, maybe 1st week of June until the second week of September? but the window of opportunity to achieve these hikes safely are within the 7 week period, I notice Hikes in Iceland and parts of Norway only have very short periods, But I was hiking an extended trail of Trolltunga to Odda in Norway for 3 nights, and noticed there was a safety warden or maybe 2 people, staying in the safety wardens hut in late September, but that is a very popular trail, and easier to travel to for a safety warden,

    • @EmmaaNilss
      @EmmaaNilss  Před rokem

      Yes! So in Sweden there is wardens from middle of June to middle September, but everyone is doing different periods because its hard for one person to do all of it, especially if you have a job or a family back home! For me 7 weeks were just enough

    Amazing how this just showed up in my feed! I stayed at the Tjäktja hut at the start of september and it was one of the highlights of my whole trip. It was such an amazing place. The views when you're up on the hill next to the hut were absolutely amazing (thanks for suggesting this). Your warm welcome with the homemade lemonade also fitted perfectly with the smaller but very cosy nature of the hut. This video really brings me back to this amazing experience, thank you!

    Hej från Kanada! Has it snowed as yet this winter? Or is this just the permanent snow that remains on top of the mountain? Are winters milder now in this area or other parts of Sweden than compared to 20-30 years ago? Or about the same? Very nice adventure.

    • @EmmaaNilss
      @EmmaaNilss  Před rokem +1

      Hi! Kebenekaise is always a snowy peak. A few of the other peaks in the video has gotten a bit of snow. 1 of september the first snow came. I would say its a huge differece in weather compared to 20-30 years ago. Winters are milder och summer hotter. I'm brought up in the south of sweden and 20 years ago when I was a kid we ALWAYS had snow during christmas. That never happens anymore. I've also heard a lot of stories from the north about how the weather is changing and how it affects the farming of reindeer in a negative way. Unfortunately this is happening all over the world and im afraid you also experience the climate change over in Kanada.
      Thanks for interesting questions and for watching!
      Cheers Emma

      @@EmmaaNilss Yes, it is quite shocking in Canada too. We always had snow by 10 December, but today 12 November it is almost 15C! The normal is about 3C. Summers are longer and warmer as well, with more insects and ticks.
