- Hi loves, another sewing video. In this one I awkwardly talk to you about my plans for this year. Might not be very interesting, but it felt like a good way to start.
I have just finished filming (and making) a Nino Jacket video so that one will be up next :)
I talked about a few patterns in the video, they are:
1. Wool shacket (Dutch) - knipmode.naaipatronen.nl/knip...
2. Nino Jacket - blog.fabrics-store.com/2017/0...
5. Vest (Dutch) - www.beletoile.com/product-cat...
8. Wool coat (Dutch) - knipmode.naaipatronen.nl/knip...
Also I know nothing will be bothered by this but I am - I forgot to put it off automatic white balance so it's all over the place, lol. Bear with me please!
And of course the noisy neigbourhood makes an appearance again. What a thrilling video!
Using thrifted fabrics is amazing, you are right on!!!!
Can't wait to thrift some more fabric!
I also am like a magpie when it comes to florals! They're just so pretty!!
I know right? I just want more!
Same here, I also need to make more plain basic pieces 😂
I'm really enjoying your videos - just discovered you last week! So glad I'm not the only person who thinks the word 'shacket' is disgusting 😖! I can't ever hear the background noise you mention (except the bells which I actually like!), but perhaps you could overlay quiet music when you're talking (during editing) if it concerns you? I recently bought a very similar vintage model of Husqvarna as yours, such a beautiful machine ❤. I love your patterns and fabric choices, especially the bright prints. You have a lovely sense of humour and your English is 👌. Looking forward to all your videos this year - love from New Zealand 😊
What a lovely comment, thank you so much! ❤️ And how amazing you bought a vintage Husqvarna as well! They really are the best and I think they are much stronger than the cheaper machines you can buy nowadays.
And great tip about the background music, I'm going to look into it. I think the noise isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but otherwise some soft background music is a great idea. Thank you!
Your machine is so gorgeous 😍 my absolute dream machine. All your make ideas are great! I've just found your channel and I absolutely love that you love using thrifted fabrics
Isn't she beautiful?? I'm so happy with it! Thank you so much :) I love thrifting!
You have the same thinking as me when it comes to sewing and buying fabric. I like when I find thrift store fabric! I only buy pre owned patterns.I can't afford new clothes right now. So I thrift jeans and tops. I am going to love watching your makes. You have some exciting ideas.
Thank you! The thrift store is such an amazing place to find clothes and fabric. Even my sewing machine is thrifted :)
That was lovely I really enjoyed seeing your ideas. I also love patterns so I am always lacking in plain things.
Patterns are just soooo pretty, can't get enough of them! Thanks for watching :)
😍
Thank you for all your effort... I really enjoy your videos. Kudos to you for getting your first make 9 done -struggles and all :). There was very minimal noise that came thru ... Other than your pipe ghosts. Looking forward to seeing you next make.... The Nino jacket will be beautiful !!! - K
Thank you so much!!
Ah yes the pipe ghosts just can't keep quiet sadly ;) Thanks!
I love your videos and your style! Your home looks gorgeous as well. I don't know why but when I saw the fabric that you said was too "sweet" I could imagine it being overdyed blue - maybe a turquoise or teal. Just an idea! Can't wait to see your makes!
That is a lovely idea, thank you! Might try that out :) And thanks!
Seems like we're on similar sewing journeys! I also love that the term shaket sounds gross to you even in your second language!
Thanks for watching!
Have you thought of linen table cloths from the thrift store?
Good tip! In my thrift stores they are always next to the bed sheets, but sadly we mostly use plastic ones. I have found a canvas one before, I made an apron out of that :)
As a fellow beginner sewist, I can highly recommend the Cris Woods Parasol Dress and the ubiquitous "bog jacket."
Haha bog jacket sounds promising, I'm going to look them up. Thank you! :D
I have the exact vintage Husqvarna machine. It's been working beautifully but just recently, the underside has come up like a birds nest. I realized it is a tension issue. I've messed around with all of the knobs. Could you let me know what your settings are for all of your knobs? I need to get it back to it's original settings. Thank you!
Hi! I'm so sorry, I haven't used mine in ages and am in the middle of a move so I can't have a look. Hope you have figured it out by now! :)
It's 2024.😅😅😅 Did you meet your make 9 goals?
Ha that's a good one! I almost made everyhing I wanted to, but through the course of the year also diverted and got other interests. Will make a new video for 2024 soon, I need some direction as I want to make aaaall the things 😂
