Don't apologise for your personal style/preferences, Janelle! You do you. If people don't like that, they can watch other channels - their loss! I love what you're wearing today, btw. And I do love a Laura Ashley style dress 😍. This year I am going to recreate a LA dress I used to have in my late 20s (many decades ago) because - why not? I loved it then and I am sure I'll love it now... I've already bought the fabric 😁 Be proud of yourself, you're amazing 👍
Make whatever you want to make! As someone who defaults to my comfort zone while testing the waters outside of it, I love seeing what you want to do and how you push yourself!
I’m so glad you keep making the same style dresses! So many of us love this style and can’t find dresses like this in the shopping world. I’ve been so inspired by your makes and I hope you don’t stop any time soon 😊
You are my favorite CZcams channel. I’m in tenth grade and I really enjoy sewing. I’ve made several items. I really enjoy sewing clothing especially dresses. I also really enjoy photography. You should do a vid on your recording and all of your photographing and sound and how you do the recording. What other hobbies are you interested in?
So excited to see the long dress out of the stunning bedsheet! Also in love with the green embroidered fabric. I love your videos- it's such a highlight for a Sunday evening for me. Don't doubt yourself or pander to people, your loyal subscribers enjoy the fact thar you are genuine and true to yourself in your videos. 😊
I'm not a parent, but I'm pretty sure that second fabric is a skirt for a baby's crib. The openings and bows are probably access openings for laundry bags, diaper storage, and other baby things.
I was a bridesmaid for my sister in law at that time too in practically the same Laura Ashley dress. Fond memories, styles always come around again! Lovely fabrics especially the gingham and the embroidered fabric.
Your colour palette and style is similar but that's because it's yours.Your viewers do not have to use similar colour fabric and that would mean their makes would look different. Your makes look similar because their loose fitting in the same way someone who always made fitted dresses would look similar. However,if you actually look at the styles of the garments you will see they are different. This is your vlog and I love it so I am glad your continuing to be you (Who else could you be?). I love your green patterned fabric, it's my favourite too. If you don't feel like the dusty pink sweater is you why not add colours you like using Swiss embroidery or other wool/skein embroidery? Even adding lace and trim to the cuffs and collar will make it more you. I love the colour of your new wool and am looking forward to the tutorial.
Thanks for saying that! I’m so glad you see it that way 😊 Also, adding some embroidery or something is a great idea and I might just have to try that xx
I love the way you dress. I wish I could do half as good as you. I can sew but I can't fit my body and I have been trying for about 50 years. You would think I would hit on the secret but I haven't. You keep making those pretty dresses and sweaters and things and I will keep watching.
I love your strong stance on "the heart wants what the heart wants," and you're going to continue making what you love. Beyond that, though, it's your personal style shining through. Just a glance at your wardrobe shows a very distinctive, beautiful aesthetic! As someone who was a teen in the 80s, Laura Ashley dresses do not seem too over the top. The detailing is so feminine and lovely! Have fun with your upcoming makes!
Hi Janelle, you have some gorgous fabrics there! I think the last fabric you showed with the blue in it looked stunning against your face. I love your aesthetic. Isn't that what everyone strives for? To have their own unique style? I think the person who said you make the same thing over and over doesn't understand 'personal style'. Luckily others of us do. Go you 🥰.
Oh..I just love your fabric choices and the style of dresses that you make… The LA dress was adorable and my perfect style…although at 74 Years old I am not quite sure that I could get away with wearing that style today…or maybe I should just go for it!!! I have one beautiful vintage dress in navy with a daisy print and white cotton lace trim…. In used to make myself a lot of clothes, especially dresses but life and work got in the way…Thanks for all your inspiration…I am looking forward to making dresses again…🥰 Really enjoying watching your transformations…Hugs Dottie (UK)x
I sewed your Rosa dress with the pattern hack of the puffy sleeves with the ties in the EXACT same green fabric with the embroidered flowers last year! So funny how the same fabrics are sold around the whole globe 😅 I am excited for your makes! 😍
All your plans sound delightful. You ARE mixing it up and trying new silhouettes! I think the bedsheet material will look wonderful in that "Laura Ashley" dupe pattern.
10:45 you don't wear a lot of blue but I think the blue hues of that dark floral fabric really make your eyes pop! I think it's gonna look really good on you!
Hello Janelle! I don’t often comment, but I decided after watching this that I ought to say-I adore all your gathered dresses, keep giving that heart what it desires! 😆 Besides that, since I’m here already I might as well say that I am SO excited for the Rosery jumper video!! Seeing your original jumper got me to seek out knitting as a legitimate interest so I could make one for myself someday, and I’m delighted that you’ll be sharing the making process! I’m still quite a beginner with knitting so I’m not quite at the jumper level yet, but it’s turned into a real fascination for me so I have you to thank for that :) I can’t wait to see how the target bedsheet and green daisy dresses turn out too, those fabrics are truly swoon worthy! Honestly all of them are, lol. So, here’s to a new round of projects! Everything you make is so inspiring and aspirational to me as a beginner sewist, so I’m very excited to see how it all turns out! Have a wonderful day! ~ Ollie 💖
So beautiful projects! I do the same, bought some bed duvet cover sets or sheet sets, and so much fabric for a good price on sale. Usually, I saw a dress for myself and a matching shirt for my partner. With the leftovers, I used them for my scrappy quilt.
Janelle the short wrap blouse in the opp shop fabric looks like it would match your trousers, which are much Joke the ones in the picture of the blouse. Love your ideas and fabric choices.
this jumper! 🧡 my favorite i guess and about navy blue fabric with flowers - i see maxi skirt, maybe cocoon shape. it would look great with new jumper!
Your personal style is a very calming aesthetic. The fabric you choose really makes your dresses shine. It is a lesson we can learn, and that is a TNT pattern or basic silhouette can really shine with beautiful fabric.
I love your style. You have a new subscriber. In march I am taking, together with my 15 yo daughter, a sewing course. We will be sewing skirts, dresses and your style is my inspiration! I cant wait! Greetings from Poland ❤
Looking forward to seeing the Target sheet dress. I began sewing in 70's and was sewing and wearing those style of dresses. Sewing the lace into the bodice is a nice idea, thank you for presenting that. It's fabulous to see the designs come back around, and I don't think I'm too old to whip up and wear another flowing number. Being a long-time sewer, (46yrs) I enjoy watching your channel, your passion and creative ideas is inspiring. I agree that 'you must follow your passion' as you mentioned, because our best works flow and develop from that passion. Personally, I don't think we can change our creative flow to suit another's need for variety, it wouldn't be authentic and that would show. I wonder that maybe the odd shaped fabric might be a baby bassinette cover?
Absolutely on board with the navy sheet / Laura Ashley dress and the lace inlay at chest/ neck is stunning and would most definitely be charming sweet beautiful on you. Please make that first. I know it will be a challenge but you can do it for sure! You are extremely talented. So excited...oh and you stay true to you and your style it looks so good on you and you are an inspiration to us!!
I love your pattern selection. We dress very similar. I am so happy you occasionally choose pink. It’s my favorite color. I also like your green selection. I wear blue all the time because of my eyes, but that’s me. I look awful in browns, yellows, and oranges. They do however look wonderful on you. ❤ I like to wear black, grey and red. Blood red. 🫶🏻
I can't wait to see what you make!! I like all of them but the last print you showed made me sit up and take notice! I love that Laura Ashley dress inspiration that you showed. That one will be very interesting to watch!!
Exciting plans ahead! Love that vintage Style pattern and the clever idea to use the bed sheets to make it. Really looking forward to that! And also the knitting! Beautiful yarn.
I love your style and there is nothing wrong with sticky to what you love! I am very much looking forward to seeing these tutorials come on your channel. I hacked your willow sleeves onto the Daisy dress and it turned out amazing. I added extra length to the skirt of the dress so it goes to the floor and have had many compliments on the dress. Look forward to seeing your hack of the Daisy!
I did think about that, but it’s such a pretty colour I feel it would be a shame! I love this knitting pattern so much though that I really don’t mind remaking it at all 😍
That Target sheet! When you held it up to your pretty face... it compliments everything about you! It may be a muted teal color not navy ... I can't tell over the computer screen.. Lovely either way!
Thanks you to the ppl letting you share the pattern of Monty top. I'm so keen to try as I nearly finished projects from 2022 oh this be a nice new wip to cast on for 2023 to go with a crochet/fabric blanket I making. Sewing knitting crochet my hobbies at the mo
Super jealous of that target bedsheet! I'm going to have to keep a much better eye out if they're doing fun patterns like that. I'm really excited to see your knitting too.
I had a long dress with a tier at the bottom in a similar fabric to the blue flowered fabric.. I loved it. I was 9 ( now 56) but just shows how fashion trends return. Looking forward to the knitting tutorial too! 🥰
That floral bedsheet from Target is an absolute dream of a pattern! 😍 I agree that paired with a Laura Ashley maxi pattern it's gonna be over the top... but hey, who doesn't need an over-the-top outfit or two in their wardrobe? 😉 Looking forward to the videos!
Haya. Happy New Years. I am commenting from my other channel 🙂Beautiful fabrics, inspiration & plans 💙I took a look at a couple of the IG's you showed 🤩Your style is yours, you own it, please do not feel you have to apologize, you look amaziiiiiiing in everything 😍Thanku 'sew' much for sharing. I’m planning on making a summer dress(I’m in the US) using 100% gingham chocolate and white print. Im using the McCalls m8213 pattern style A. It’s a really cute dress and I am trying to find a tutorial similar to it. I am also planning to use the same fabric to make the Pansy dress for my daughter. i think its safe to say everyone's waiting for that jumper
The blue fabric project has to be my favorite
Because I'm much more interested in knitting now more than ever. I'm really looking forward to the rosary jumper!

Aw thanks lovely! That really means a lot 🧡 I sometimes share some bts of the making process of these videos in my behind the brand series x
Janelle, I can't wait to see the navy floral dress, that fabric is a dream!
So excited to see the long dress out of the stunning bedsheet! Also in love with the green embroidered fabric.

Agreed - follow your heart every time and you won't go wrong 😊
That navy blue bedsheet is beautiful.
Sheets will make a good backing for a quilt.
I'm not a parent, but I'm pretty sure that second fabric is a skirt for a baby's crib. The openings and bows are probably access openings for laundry bags, diaper storage, and other baby things.
Agreed. Looks like a cradle skirt to me.
I personally love watching you make tiered and gathered dresses and think that you should always stay true to yourself 🌼
Oh that Laura Ashley dress brings back very fond memories. The dress I got married in was very similar. I had a few of that style back in the 70’s❤❤❤
How lovely! It’s such a pretty style 😍
I was a bridesmaid for my sister in law at that time too in practically the same Laura Ashley dress. Fond memories, styles always come around again! Lovely fabrics especially the gingham and the embroidered fabric.

I love your style, I too love wearing gathered dresses and smock tops, you do want you want! ❤️❤️
Beautiful sharing. Beautiful fabrics 👍🌹☘🌺🌿🌻🌴
I hope to knit the jumper.
You should absolutely wear blue! Great for your eyes! Love the Target sheet!
I love the way you dress. I wish I could do half as good as you. I can sew but I can't fit my body and I have been trying for about 50 years. You would think I would hit on the secret but I haven't. You keep making those pretty dresses and sweaters and things and I will keep watching.
Getting the fit right is honestly the hardest part! 😖
I love all your makes gathered or not you are very clever lady keep doing what you love doing people don’t have to watch if there not happy.x

Looking forward to knitting the jumper with you!
Glad to see you on youtube. Thank you for the sweater pattern. Love it.
The one I'm most interested in is the sweater. I'm excited to see how it looks when it's done.
The random piece of fabric looks like a bassinet liner, beautiful print.
I can’t see what’s to come ❤❤
The bedsheet fabric could work for pants too 😍
I love the colors you picked up!!!
I have that vintage pattern too, it was from my mums stash, I nicked a few from her, even her wedding dress pattern prom the 70’s!
Oh love the knitting jumper! ❤
Yup its a bassinet cover. They used very pretty fabric for them. Your fabric choices are pretty bang on for sewing 😊👍
I'd love to see a clip of the same dress in different fabrics and actually see how many dresses you do have that are the same.

Looking forward to the Style pattern made up in the navy floral fabric.
The lace panel, high neck makes me think of Jessica McClintok Gunne Sax! 😍 I have been searching for her patterns/dresses in my size for a long time.
Always inspires me to work on my project list 😊
Your personal style is a very calming aesthetic. The fabric you choose really makes your dresses shine. It is a lesson we can learn, and that is a TNT pattern or basic silhouette can really shine with beautiful fabric.

Thank you for your updated sewing plans! Love all of the beautiful fabrics! The blue tones are very flattering on you!
I’m new to your channel and new to sewing. Some of the styles your showing remind me of Gunne Sax out of San Francisco in the 70’s
Love it!

Yes! Gathered neck dress! Please do the tutorial! 😍
Hi Janelle, you look well rested. All the best for 2023.
Love your fabrics and looking so forward to your sewing tutorials.

That Target sheet! When you held it up to your pretty face... it compliments everything about you! It may be a muted teal color not navy ... I can't tell over the computer screen.. Lovely either way!

Super jealous of that target bedsheet! I'm going to have to keep a much better eye out if they're doing fun patterns like that. I'm really excited to see your knitting too.
There was a couple at my local Target today (in Newcastle)! If I can grab you one let me know x
Ohh the florals 😍 I think the navy one will look great on you, matches your eyes 😄

It’s special because that’s her paternal grandmother’s name.
