This video is iconic because so many female artists recreated scenes from this video in their choreography esp the chair scene
Morris Branch Cassie, tinashe and Britney have all 100% referenced it
OMG thank you
it inspired Jennifer Lopez too - she said she saw this and instantly knew she had to dance
Thanks for this comment......99.9% of the female artist who can dance(without a doubt)
I'm glad you been reacting to Janet's music. The industry blacklist her music for yrs and tried to erase her legacy. I'm glad for people like you reminding people of her impact and introducing the new generation to miss Jackson if your nasty. A quote from her song nasty
She was voted into the rock and roll hall of fame last year -FINALLY!
MsLuvmusic81 CORRECTION: She was voted a few times but last year was her third time and SHE WON đđđ
@@medylemaproductions yes she won! :)
They will NEVER tornish her music in my eyes. She's my Madonna
Just stop. She was an older artist and that happens a lot when you hit 10 years or so. You are no longer the new hotness....it has happened to every artist of longevity.
This was my favorite vid. I know I'm not the only one who damn near gave myself a concussion & punished my mother's furniture trying to imitate that chair move.
Jamedra A đ the struggle. I best I could do was her kick the chair move.
@@helloalexa5035 rotfl.... no one could have saved me if I had gotten caught....'cause my mother would have put down some Joe Jackson moves...
That's funny!
I also loved The Knowledge. Prejudice, no!
@@TheFever77 Ignorance, no!
This was Janet breaking free from The Jacksons fam, coming into her sexy era. She struggled with weight and romance issues during this time but she inspired every female artist out there. So many of the dance moves even with the flashdance footloose vibe were still quintessentially "Jackson" Janet and Michael were the first to do many iconic dance styles you see artists do today. đ
Facts
She didn't struggle with weight issues. She was hiding a pregnancy.
Janet Jackson- Nasty! Contains her most iconic line.
2 lines
You'll also see Paula Abdul in it.
"Miss Jackson if you NASTY!"
@@swaggerish
It's Noah, Mr Salter if you nasty.
@@sito7186 lol except I'm a girl đ
We will never forget those Guess jeans
One of the most iconic music videos ever! Yes Janet Yes!!!
No costume changes no special effects to backup dancers just her brilliant
This video was an answer to her critics. Who said she couldn't make a video without a huge cast of dancers. Could you Please react to Janet Jackson - Alright you'll love the video.
janet - escapade
Janet - MISS YOU MUCH a must.
Yes bitch yes. Miss you much
My Favorite Janet song- possibly my favorite song ever.
Another 80s bop she did is Control. Jimmy Jam produce that whole album and created great music for Janet over the years
This song is in the Control Album
mcnzefili I know that
Actually the song was the one that Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis didn't write or produced. Monte Moir wrote and produced this. He was in the band The Time that Prince put together. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were in that band as well.
Janet is the QUEEN đ! Lil bro you doing some great things with these videos. Keep up the great work.
@@JackReacts904 Hey lil bro. Do "I Get So Lonely" & "Together Again". Janet Check em out!
Nobody:
Nobody at all:
Not even Janet herself:
Not even Janet's siblings:
Jack everytime he hear a new song: Idk y'all this might be my new favorite song/ number 1 on playlist đ€Ł
Much love đđđ and I love this song sm
Janet Jackson is one of the greatest artists of all time.. People like Beyonce, Britney Spears, Rhianna, Lady gaga, Jlo, Ciara, Aaliyah, Mya, Brandy, Cassie, Tinashe, Teyanna Taylor, and Etc.. Feeds from Janet Jackson.. She is the true Blue Print for these artists and among others.. I'm glad that you're reacting to her phenomenal work. Keep going and I guarantee you see who Janet Jackson is really is. A legend, an Icon, a megastar star entertainer.. There will never be another Janet and Michael ever..
I think you would like
Janet Jackson- You Want This
Janet Jackson- I Get So Lonely
Janet Jackson ft Busta Rhymes- Whatâs It Gonna Be
Definitely
Yesss
No! Janets TwentyFourPlay ! AsAp!
Damn Baby and All Nite are great too
TwentyFourplay!
And YES she really did the back flip in the video. It was just slowed down in editing.
Nope.
@@monember2722 YES. She was taking tumbling classes at the time. She also did a BACKFLIP in Control and live 1987 Grammys performance in high heels.
@@LeeDfined you are reaching. The control video backflip is not Janet. That is Paula Abdul. She does not do a backflip at 1987 Grammys because she did not perform at the 1987 Grammys. Janet has never done a backflip on any stage ever. Not taking away anything from her, but it's time to put this to bed. Janet has never admitted to doing backflips in live performance or on video
@@monember2722 She actually did perform czcams.com/video/_-TiXJP-ssI/video.html
@@PensivePoet97 thank you. if that's the 1987 Grammys. I stand corrected. However, I'll reiterate that Janet did not do the backflip in her pleasure principle video nor the nasty video. Your clip proves it clearly. She was flipped over on stage, she did not do it herself.
It seems crazy to have a video of pure choreography and it not be bad or boring but she kills it! Her charisma and confidence are off the charts
When I was 5, this was my first time knowing who Janet Jackson was. Fell in love with her ever since. You should react to her Control music video
Wow...I was 11 when this came out. Times have gone on but we still here fans of Janet.
Barry Lather choreographed this. He also choreographed her performance of "Control" on the 1987 American Music Awards. Also Jack check out "Janet Jackson Soul Train Awards 1992" there is a clip of bloopers from her music videos and you will see bloopers from "The Pleasure Principle" in that as well.
Jimmy n Terry, a beast on the beats
Actually the white boy in Th Time Monte Noir produced this, along with If you were here tonight by Alexander O'neal. Gotta give it to him, a bad white boy.
Finally! I love this video. Top 3 of her entire videography!! Glad you did this. Janet is a legendary beast!
Escapade you should do next.
You already know!! Young blood! You are witnessing greatness! Because of Janet Jackson there is a Ciara or a Beyonce. This was my era!! #80s4life
Back when female singers were innovative! This is my favorite Janet song.
And she really did the back flip
By far ... My all-time favorite Janet Jackson song/video ... She absolutely kills it ... I love it ... đđđ
Yass! Pleasure Principle is top 3 Janet for me. Could you do Janets 'Someone To Call My Lover'? Great video!
Please react to janet Jacksonâs âlove will never do without youâ
Jeffrey Free yes please! Youâll love the groove. It always reminds me of summer. âïž
She was sexy af in that video
Great one! From the Rhythm nation album and the video is great
that's a really good one!
Jeffrey Free So true!!! Oh you just made me smile so big...I really needed that!!! Thank you!!!
I somehow always get emotional with this song. This video was so important to me. The first young strong female singing about independence. And the choreography! This video was really a thing back then!
My favorite because Janet dont need background dancers or costume changes and its still iconic
Please listen to Janet Jackson let's wait awhile
yes and the video with the 80s heartthrob Taimak:)
great ballad
Yes. That's a good one.
Janet Jackson TwentyFourPlay !!
Great choice! This is my favorite song/video from her. Loved the choreography. She was looking so good in it đđ
Omg how old are you Jack? I love how you love 80s music! I'm 38 so I grew up as a kid in this era and MJ was my fav with Janet second lol. Great days đ
Thats what im wondering - ,maybe 16?
Naw 18
Straight up Legendary
Iâm happy you reacted to this, one of my favorites.
Check out âAll For Youâ from her All For You album. It was the longest #1 running song of 2001, probably my favorite song from her. She looked the sexiest out of her entire career in this one.
This is my absolute favorite Janet song and video ever!!! Classic
Also the Control album is a solid album front to back so if liked this song, then definitely give it a listen
YES! Control, Rhythm nation, Janet, Velvet Rope, All For you, Damita Jo had some good tracks too
My favorite song from Janet Jackson. Too many layers to this classic.
LOL Your reaction when Janet did the flip
As a young person, yoy will NEVER understand the struggle of putting on Guess skinny jeans BEFORE the introduction of lycra... đ
I didn't want this vid to end. It kept getting better! I heard you say you didn't know Janet could dance, now you know for sure, my friend!
Janet miss u much
Before the super bowl Incident janet was the highest paid entertainer of all time
I LOVE this video! When it came out ...WOW! We were dancing. I love that she did the dance moves that were popular and common at the time. She danced like us, but did it better.
Janet Jackson -What About Live Vh1 awards
This is her ONLY video where she danced and appeared alone. Dope!!!!
My favorite Janet video, maybe my favorite of all time. I still remember that choreography and whenever I hear it that's all I see. And look at her! That made me want to get in shape. Classic.
Janet Jackson - Alright. Pretty please! đ„°
Youâve got to do *THE KNOWLEDGE* music video by Janet. Her solo dance on there is too gold. And the lyrics have an important message as well.
Janet here is making pop history
The 80's kicked all other decades asses. I know I was a teenager in the 80s
Iconic. Stripped bare, by herself. Pure đ„đ„đ„
Janet said this her favorite video of hers and its mine 2 she all alone killing it
This and "When I Think Of You" are my ALL TIME FAVORITES, from Ms. Jackson.
This was the original chair routine. Artists got inspired by this video and did their own interpretations of it.
The chair choreography and some of the moves are straight from the movie Flashdance, released 3 yrs earlier. However, Janet killed it, one of my fav artists
From what I learned. She basically freestyled this entire video. Idk how true it is. But if she did đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
Yaaaaasss! Janet that's my girl!!! The best compliment I ever could have ever got is when I would be out on the dance floor back in the 80s, and was told all the time that I danced just like Janet Jackson. It can't get better than that!!!!
Man she was break dancing, popping and Locking , splits and all....Living Legend!!! This woman is on a planet of her own (with MJ)... You should check out âAll Nite,â âRock with u â and âEverytimeâ By Janet!...Btw she was 20 or 21, when she made this video.
LETS WAIT A WHILE bro. If you want some Smooth, laidback music. đ thanks Jack!âđż
You should react to "What Have You Done For Me Lately" next. It was her first real big hit! (It's also an 80s bop)
Paula Abdul did a lot of her choreography during this time and I think she did for this song as well
@@MsLuvmusic81 not this song....a white guy choreographed this song
One of my favourite tunes of all time, yes I remember it first time, it's still cool and sexy - and so is she!
The eighties were the best years of my life! You have good taste:) Man...too bad there aren't time capsules!
Those Guess Jean's were fitting nice!!!
My fav all time of hers
This video was choreographed by Paula Abdul as were a lot of her 80s videos made you want to dance. She has elements of Flash Dance and Footloose two iconic films glad you caught the reference.
This is my favorite music video of all time! Classic!
Janet had it going on in this video
Of course the energy was off the charts, she was in her early 20's. The musical producers were Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam, who ran in the same circles (were also friends that grew up together) with Prince. But don't sleep on her now, even in her 50's. Check out the video, Damn, Baby with an older Janet. I love it. đ
1986 for the single, the video I believe was 87.
Let's step back folks and truly look at this.
How many other dancers can make a #1 hit with a video of just them dancing in a warehouse?
That's right folks......only Janet.
She was 18 - 20 for this video.
Control was the album
She knows how to move.......we got this, and could not figure out how to top it.
Then we got Rhythm Nation 1814. Nothing was the same after that.
I remember this vid was such a big deal when it came out. This was her first vid after she dropped a lot of weight. She had disappeared from the scene for a long time, nobody had seen her. We didnât have social media back then so it easy to disappear for months. She came back and folks were like daaaaamnn. Before this she had a bit of, what folks called back then, baby fat. Think of her âWhen I Think Of Youâ video. Ole girl came back fit and with excellent dance skills that no one had seen from her before this.
This vid was a major shift and transformation for her.
Janet Jackson "Love will never do"
Yeah. Janet set the dancing standard with this video. Jennifer Lopez said it was the video that made her want to get into the business. Many other entertainers cite this as their favorite Janet video.
You should do. âLove with never do without youâ next. Definitely another good Janet song đđđŒ
YES PLEASE!! :)
3 Words! Those Guess Jeans! #Dunk This is JLos Favorite Video. It inspired her to become a dancer/ entertainer.
janet is always entertaining to watch
Another Control song that is awesome is When I Think of You great song, great video and her 1st number one
One of my favorite fast songs, from Ms.Jackson Normani recreated this in a Tribute, that was done to Janet, and it was so good,Janet gave her a standing ovation đđŸđđŸđđŸ,you should really check it out, youâll love it.
Mya did a tribute back when Janet was voted MTV Icon
Your review is awesome and insightful, and I love when younger adults like you wanna learn what was and still is up. Props to my âJanetâ generation.
đŽ TALOFA Jack đ
The Pleasure Principle... JDJ ⥠CLASSIC
Please react to Janet's "Miss You Much" đ The longest running number-ONE single of 1989!
You should react to her Grammy performance in 1987. She slayed the Grammys.
Thank you for Janet reaction , you seem to enjoy her music and appreciate. Your reviews are always on point. Very good work. Please give us more Janet reactions !!
This video set the bar so high for other female artist
This is when she introduced herself as a dancer. So many iconic dances from the 80s: the prep, the wop, the cabbage patch
Yessss 80's music will always be the best to me....and it's funny my little one's love it too...lol
It can never be overstated just how huge this album made Janet. I was a boy when this came out and I mustâve done that chair trick a hundred times out in the yard. The 80s was the best decade to be a kid in.
I like Janet for her performances. I can never look away. I've never been big on her vocals though.
I'm late to this convo, but she improvised the dance moves in this video. Makes it more impressive!
Let's wait awhile, Again ,great big R&B ballad type songs
Great reaction Jack. You know your stuff...and music history! Without a doubt, this is one of the top ten music video dance performances of all time!
I was a kid in the 80's. and yes, it definitely was as great as it seems. Los Angeles (where I lived then) was everything in the 1980's.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis(of The Time), wrote or produced most of Janet Jackson's iconic hits!! So underrated.
In fact, the music video used the remix version of Shep Pettibone because this is the remix version (the album version was different). Later she have the same thing with ''Alright'' in 1990.
When this song was released, this the only single of the ''Control'' album to not peaked the top 10 in US, peaking in n.14.
Favorite Janet song.
Saw her twice live. The energy is amazing
This is from control her first major album that started it all for her. And rythm nation is her sophomore album. '86 and '89 respectively. Great songs on both Albums
80s MUSIC WAS THE JAMS
This is my favorite Janet song
1987. I was 23 đ have the t shirt sheâs wearing in the video
