A very minor recommendation for DDR5 builders is that I wouldn't enable xmp UNTIL Windows is properly installed. It isn't a big issue with DDR4 but I've seen some instability with DDR5 even if the kit is rated at that speed on their website. It can be even more finicky if you're populating all 4 dim slots on your board. It is technically still an "overclock" at the end of the day and you'd want to remove any potential reasons that could cause hiccups during the installation process.
Good tips just seen this on another channel
Nope not for me if i can't run xmp during windows installation means it ant gunna work properly then ull have to dial down speeds to see where its stable
If u cannot install Windows with xmp enabled u have a issue with ur ram and i would rather know during the installation process then getting into Windows and its lockes up while doijg stuff trust me ive been there ive had corrupted data from a pc locking up while moving data it ant pretty ive lost it all
@@michaelpearson9wut
100% agree with this.
Note, don't use 4x8gb, use 2x 16gb for ram
That is so true
Nah 2x 32gb
I use 2x 8gb is that good or bad? 😬
Why not 4x8 ?
@@NosyNorseman xmp profiles will have issues you might not be able to set ram speed to its rated and would need to set it lower
Being a first time builder of a gaming/streaming/video editing pc this was incredibly useful! 🎉 I have to slow it down a bit to keep up but this was incredibly helpful. Much love my friend and keep up the great videos. ❤
What's your specifications?
Your videos have been instrumental in me configuring my new pc. Thank you! It'll be time to buy everything soon. Prices are getting lower every day!
ah finally, a good video for what to do after getting a new pc, just the put the cable on the gpu i never heard it before and on my there's protection on it so i couldn't see it. Thanks for this video!
just finished up my 1st PC build last night. Your videos were a huge part of every aspect of my build. Great job, keep it up bud!!
How did you get windows 11 did you use another windows computer or did you do it a different cause I can’t build my first pc cause I don’t have another windows computer to download windows 11 on

Thank you for that graphics card HDMI port tip. I was really worried for a bit lol.
Thank you so much, got it all set up today and you really helped me product my pc well subscribing and sharing this video! 🎉 :)
Great vid, very informative. Most people don't think about this part after buying/building a pc lol

Ive gotten all kinds of advice on how to install Windows 11 on my new gaming PC from programers and network engineers but this was simple and streight forward from the first turn on to system monitoring. You cleared up a lot of my questions

Thanks for the video! I've seen videos on updating Bios BEFORE install OS.
1) Is there an advantage to either updating Bios before or after installing the OS?
You recommend Enabling the XMP for the RAM, and installing the OS, before updating the Bios? Thanks!
2) (I'm also installing DDR5, and my Bios will not Enable XMP yet. I'm figuring the bios flash is needed. (Also, the below post advises putting in Windows BEFORE enabling XMP on RAM. I'd like your thoughts. Thanks!)
Very detailed and helpful thanks
Great video, also i'd recommend two more things, one is going into the windows update settings and checking to see if there are any important security/ feature updates you need, and the other is uninstalling any bloatware apps you don't need like solitaire or onedrive
Isnt onedrive pretty useful?

Gonna power up my build for the first time. Very helpful information and will come in handy.
Just built my first PC last night and I thought everything was setup correctly but there was no display, the pc turned on and the fans were spinning, RGB ram was lit up but the only thing I didint do was connect the mouse and key board as I didint think I’d need to press delete button a bunch of times, gonna try later tonight and hopefully that’s all it needs 😅 if so your a life saver as I’ve watched many other videos on why it won’t display and nobody mentioned you might have to press delete button a bunch of times.
How did it go!
How did you fix it, I got the same issue
@@Ferzhq I had to loosen the graphics card screws as it was hanging too low to plug the HDMI cable in, the cable wasn’t sitting in all the way

Thanks for all the help I was planning to build a pc myself based on one of your past videos and you have been really helpful especially since it’s my first time.
I just built one. Doing windows and stuff now. It’s really not that hard!

@@lovecramperdrumpinthejoker5237 you’ll just go to your manufacturer’s website for your processor, gpu, and motherboard. The downloads are under support. You’ll download them, install them, restart your pc, and that’s pretty much it after you’ve assembled your pc. If you get stuck, reach out. Great timing for this video. My build will start when I get the Ryzen 7700x in this week. Question: I purchased the Peerless Assassin RGB cooler for my Ryzen 7700x. I also purchased 2 addition case fans, also Thermalright RGB. Can I daisy chain the 2 additional case fans with the CPU fans, and use the single CPU fan plug on the motherboard (ASUS B650E-F), or should I connect the 2 case fans to their own fan port? Thanks for a great video.
you absolutely can daisy chain into a single cpu fan plug, you just won't be able to control each of the fan speed individually (if for some reason u want to)
Great content, definitely could have used this before my build, great information 🪛
Good stuff. Had to bypass the internet set up to update lan drivers so it would connect finally
How did you by pass the internet part when installing windows , I’m stuck here I think I will have to download them on another pc to a usb
one other thing to mention is to uncap the refresh rate in the settings if your moniter is above 60 hertz
thanks so much me and my dad built a pc and we didint have a clue what to do next thanks
very good video !!! 🎉
Great video, but I personally had the problem that turning on the XMP profile for the ram before even installing windows completely messed up the bios and it started to freeze and windows installation went into a direct blue screen, also changing back didn't save. Resetting the bios and leaving the ram on lower MHz for now fixed the problem. Found this to be the reason since several people on the Internet experienced that before.
THANK YOU. MY GOD THANK YOU. My windows 11 installation kept crashing again, and again, and again, and I couldn't find the damn reason why. Did what you said and it worked. FInally, THANK YOU
@@alexya818 Great to hear. Glad this could help.
@@-Sangral- did you manage to turn on the XMP in the end? Cause when I do it now Windows won't boot. I'll try updating the BIOS, but I'm afraid it won't fix it
@@alexya818 Yes I did, XMP on and there is a selection somewhere for the DRAM frequency I set that to auto and this worked.
Does windows start without the XMP settings?
@@-Sangral- yeap and the benchmarks shows no problems at all, it does says the RAMs aren't performing at their best ofc
Thx really helpful
Never enable full speed of the ram until you update the bios you always want a stable bios running until everything is up to date to avoid crashing
Even with ddr4 ?
@@wisemanoncesaid5127 yes i’d recommend you enable full ram speed after you’ve finished installation of drivers and bios for the motherboard

any pc builds with intel arc cards? would like to see that.
If you are moving your SSD from your old desktop to your new gaming system, do you need to reinstall Windows or it should detect the new hardware?
I just watch it not for the know how but to give a Like and comment. Lil bit of me wanting to know how it is with Windows 11

So do I have to buy windows or do I just download for free from a different computer?
I built my pc today thanks
Can I use a USB portable hard drive for the BIOS update and driver installs instead of a flash drive?
Is there any website you know of that people sell popular gaming items without an insane mark up? Really trying to get the nzxt h9 flow or the o11 dynamic evo, but they are always sold out
Did you have windows 10 home preinstalled before upgrading to windows 11
Good stuff bro !!!!
What kind of computer is on the cover? Is there a video about the build?
I’ve heard not to enable xmp before installing your os because of stability issues
Finally I got it from keyr (Make sure to include the dot (.) between "keyr" and "org")
I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is.
For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 1:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation tho
sometimes if you install windows on a PC connection, windows might not actually install a network driver
Thank you
I’m brand new to pc and was curious if I should install some type of antivirus software like McAfee or Norton in addition to all this stuff?
No. McAfee and Norton are crappy programs. If it says anything, before John McAfee (creator of the McAfee antivirus software) died, he said he hated his own software.....
Windows has a built-in antivirus called Microsoft Defender. For most use cases, its good enough. If you need something more robust and unobtrusive, I use ESET NOD32. As long as you're prudent with what you're downloading, you should be fine.
Watching this makes me not want to build my own pc but buy a pre-built... does micro center offer anything to set all this uo???
You can get a simple custom build done at MicroCenter (in USA) for $179, a complex build with AIO cooling would be $279
Is there an easy way to update drivers or do you have to update each one manually?
Windows Updates will download and install drivers for you. I still prefer downloading them from the manufacturer's page as Windows sometimes downloads outdated and/or buggy driver versions.
I would avoid most driver updater programs. Most of them are more interested in selling you bogus services and/or using scareware tactics to get you to use their premium service.
I followed this step by step but when I went to boot up windows 11 my screen goes light blue with no text. Stays like this for awhile then my pc shuts off any solutions?
How about running windows update before you do any thing else, then look at drivers and defiantly don't turn on XMP or the AMD equivalent until every driver has down loaded.
I would install all drivers first, and then Windows Updates.
What to do when windows installs a new Radeon driver while setting up windows and your screen goes black?
Should I bupdate my MBs BIOS first before installing windows? Haven't built in over a decade, I can't even remember what I did before. Lol. I know I have a Microsoft account and windows 10 from my old PC, just not sure
Do I have to download all drivers for my motherboard? Like is it recommended? Which are a "must download"? Kinda new to this
Ideally yes you want to download the current drivers to your motherboard since they are usually optimisation, bug fixes or compatible issues fixed
@@vsaucelover9660 I meant if I have to download all drivers from the motherboard page or can I leave out like Bluetooth for example?
Brilliant.
If I don’t already have windows 11 should I buy the windows 11 usb stick from Microsoft
I'm super confused about the drivers part. Do I have to download the drivers from another computer onto a flash drive and put the flash drive in my new pc, or do I just download the drivers straight onto my new pc?
In most instances, it doesn't really matter how you do it. A lot of these channels advice downloading the drivers onto the flash drive so you can quickly install them as soon as Windows is installed. In essence, you're doing part of the work before hand so that the drivers are ready for install. It also may come in handy in the event that your Windows install doesn't have network drivers built in. In that instance, you would need to download the drivers on another working PC and then transfer them to your new PC via flash drive.
I always get Intel CPUs with built in graphics, I update windows, instal all the Nvidia programs and drivers and then I swap over to the GPU
Im planning to switch to a 5700x, from an i5 9400f. Anything ryzen specific id need to set up or enable/disable? Gigabyte mobo
guys if your stuck with bios you can also try use f2 f10 and f12
I am working on this bootable drive part of the video and it is a little unclear. You start at the windows page to download the file and then immediately jump to installing the flashdrive and it looks like when you plug in the flashdrive, the website immediately starts downloading and formatting the flashdrive to a bootable version of windows. Any chance you can clarify?
The video is great, that part just seems a little unclear
The website is to download the media creation tool. He runs the tool after its downloaded and the tool then downloads the files necessary for a Windows install and then prepares the flash drive for the files. The website itself doesn't do anything on the flash drive.
i have been watching these videos for a while now but i was wondering is it better to build or buy a pc?
have you figured it out already?
I just bought a 4090 asus card and it does what i wanted it to do. 280+ stable fps in call of duty on medium high settings. I dont hear any coil whine like people say. Im not sure how they could hear it if it is in a case.
So can I install the drivers onto the same usb I installed windows on or I need a different one?
Yep. You're not actually installing the drivers on the USB. You're just copying the driver files to the flash drive so that you can then install them on your new PC.
@@JJFlores197 do i need to extract the driver zip files before the installation process? You seem qualified
@@twentyjeans4234I would do it. if you try running the setup file from within the zip file, it will either only run the install file which will fail because it needs the rest of the files or it may extract them to a temp location and then run. I would just extract them and install.
Got it... Now I just need a pc
Is the windows operator free if you're building a new PC? I live in Canada btw
Technically no. You're supposed to pay for Windows. Unofficially, Microsoft lets you run W11 indefinitely w/o paying for a license. You won't be able to personalize your PC and a watermark appears. Other than that, everything works the same as if you paid for the license.
If your trying to Download drivers should you download every single one or just the Wi-Fi and Lan
I would get all the relevant drivers. You're already there downloading them so might as well download and install them in one go.
just done building my first pc, but I have no idea why it won’t connect to the internet or why it won’t show any available Wi-Fi options.
Never do any over clicking or activate XMP until you have all the newest updates and hardware versions etc.. especially bios
I just finished building my pc and I activated xmp and it wouldn't boot up so I had to do a motherboard flash and I'm at the beginning again but my dram light on my motherboard is on should I update everything then do the xmp to see if it goes away it's extremely disappointing
Quick question about installing windows. If your pc comes with windows 11 for example. Would you need the flash drive for it to work? Or would you not in that case? I’m just trying to figure out before my pc comes if I should buy one or not.
In that case, you don't need to do anything. Its a pre-built and ready for use out of the box.
