    • @tileux
      @tileux Před 2 lety +3

      @@Aaron-zu3xn a wombat is unlikely to be killed by other wildlife. There are no natural predators of wombats in areas where you find wombats - but even dingoes and wild dogs would leave a wombat alone if they encountered each other (which is so unlikely its almost impossible). Its cars that are the big killer. I cant tell you how many wombats Ive seen dead on the M5 and Princes Highway between Sydney and Canberra. Its a lot. Thats probably what happened to this fella's mum. They didnt say it but I suspect they placed his new burrow away from traffic areas that are the main threat to him.

      Well thats why l said stew a good long simmer and it will be great with the right seasoning and vegs,
      Also a decent pair of mittens out of the skin.
      Roadkill should not be wasted
      When l worked over the North York Moors every trip there and back was always marked by freshly killed rabbits, pheasants and grouse, one or two foxs but they are too gamey to eat, we eat like fuedal Barrons for 18 months on pheasant and rabbit.

    Just like with one's children, you want them to be able to soar into their adult life, but you cannot stop worrying whether they will be safe and healthy and happy.
    The camera is a great idea. You can't phone a wombat to ask how he is, the camera is an excellent alternative.
    What a grand woman.

      Doesn't matter if there are humans around or not the wombat will ignore them and humans have nothing to do with wombats. Wombats are not hunted so are safe from hunters and as they are nocturnal they are asleep during the say when people are active.

      You are right. We use it as a substitute for a certain, frustration relieving, word when impressionable ankle biters are present.
      Ankle biters is how we refer to very little human children, but not wombats, as you might expect. Though I think wombats might have been the inspiration for us in describing little kids in this way.
