Just A Little Girl And Her Wombats | Wombat Warrior

Although this is super cute 🥰 this is not what we are about and wombats can’t be sleeping in a little girl's bed because they need to be learning their skills in there enclosure at night because they are nocturnal, this all part of their rerun to the wild and foraging training, they are super needy animals at a young age and get separation anxiety easily and need heaps of hands on love and affection ❤️ to settle them and make them comfortable to thrive and learn.
However no wombat will have a bed in the bush nor a little girl to keep them warm 🤣. It was hard to explain this to Ashlee’s kind little heart ❤️ as she just wanted to help her little sad friend but no wombats in the bed 🛌.
So when we originally had two rescue 🛟 orphan wombats come into care Stormy (girl) and Elmo (boy) they really do well in pairs I have found when raising them they keep each other company and then they use each other more than just relying on humans for comfort and feel safer.
Unfortunately Elmo after about 2 months of care kept falling sick with different conditions, this is rare and it turns out he had an immune disease.
In the end Elmo contracted a skin condition and as a result of that a fungi caused pneumonia and the poor battler could not shake it and died.
Now they both slept in an enclosure away from people and other animals that’s purposely built about 40m from our house and Stormy became very distressed without her little partner in crime Elmo and you could hear her screeching out up in the shed for the first 3 nights (they do this when they are stressed or scared).
Ashlee was sneaking out of bed and I would find her up in the shed with her (stormy) trying to calm her down 🥹💕. However that’s not somewhere we want our little 4 year old in the middle of the night..it was then on the fourth night that the Stormy's distress calls stopped and myself and amber we glad that she must of been getting used to sleeping without Elmo.. but it turns out Ashlee had sneaked up to the shed and had smuggled stormy back into her own bed 🛌 in the cover of darkness .
When Amber went to check on Ashlee they were both fast asleep 😴 in her bed 🥹😇 and amber came and got me to see. \
