Remember when F1 was F1? National anthem going in the background, and Martin and drivers allowed to carry on, cool sponsorship deals (he aludes to the Redbull movie sponsorship), characters on the grid/drivers allowed to be themselves a bit more and appear more open to talk, celebs happy to talk on the grid, Martin getting more random people to fill time... ahhh this is my F1. Never knew people uploaded the old grid walks on here, really makes you see how sterile F1 has become
Tristicles _ You're not wrong, almost a shame Bernie has no bargaining power anymore, for as much hate as he gets, I think he would agree with you. Drivers, engineers and celebrities with character who aren't scared of saying the wrong thing are what made the Brundle gridwalks as legendary as they are. And it reflects into the atmosphere of formula 1 as a whole, those that do have something interesting to say rarely get to say it.
@@ThatSteemBloke think Sky (I'm from UK and they host our coverage) has really dulled/censored things in some ways too, improved in some areas though, also think the huge amount of media on the grid these days has an affect on drivers wanting to talk amongst other things (I mean look how many words he got out of Kimi in this vid... unheard of to get more than 1 word from Kimi)
Mark Webber was in with a chance of winning this race but the marshalls didn't show fisichella the blue flags and Webber got held up badly. Then his Williams failed, and game over.
Well Kimi would have most likely won the race he was super quick and had 10-12 laps more fuel in the second stint than Alonso, had Webber parked a bit more sensibly and went straight on into Turn 1 and off the circuit, there would have been no need for the SC and this would have meant that Mclaren could use their strategic advantage but the SC kiboshed that.
4:21 "and you think you'll be ready for it?"
14 years later and he has 7 World titles lmfao
"Mark, just a quickie mate" -M. Brundle
