- In this video I perform a quick install of a tri-fold hard tonneau cover for my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4. This one is manufactured by REV Industries (which apparently is also the same as the BAKFLIP product). I have used these before and they are durable, light weight, provide some security as we as cutdown on wind resistance.

Very much appreciate your posting this! I bought my REV tonneau cover while GMC had a 20%-off sale. I self-installed it on my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT in less than an hour (the dealership wanted $360 to do the job). All in all, I saved $600, and that is in no small part because of this video. I know not many people have this exact cover or chevy/gmc. But it did help me a lot. This is the only video on CZcams that shows how to install this cover.

I have 2022 Silverado 2500. I will be putting a camper in and out of the truck throughout the spring - fall seasons. In between I want to have a tonneau cover on. I was thinking of getting the Lomax cover because it is very easy to remove and no adjustment required to reinstall it. Do you think this GM/Rev cover will work well being removed and replaced 6-109 times a year? Is adjustment required when reinstalling it? Thanks
I’m considering a retractable, Retrax Pro MX. A little surprised you didn’t go retractable. Cleaner look and doesn’t block back window, but a little more pricey, pro’s and con’s?
I do not recommend the Bakflip G2. Just installed the G2 cover on a '22 Frontier. I had to grind out mounting bracket slots for it to fit. It leaks at EVERY fold seam. I am certain it will not be long before the foam core is damaged by the water collecting inside the cover. The rear corners do not cover the tail gate gaps at all so water is drawn in while driving.
I have the same cover, the thing to watch for is to make sure you have the tailgate locked in place. Too many times, while driving the tailgate will open. I have closed many a truck tailgate for people at stop lights.
I have never had a problem with my Sierra tailgate latching. But my F-150….too many times it has fallen open. 😂

I do have one question, to be able to fit my quad in my bed I would need to remove the cover to allow my quad be positioned forward as much as possible. To remove the cover it looks like only two hand tighten screws? Should only take 5 min to remove you think?
You are right about removal. It is awkward with one person though, I would suggest a helper if you have on so you don’t dent or scratch anything
@@Donslife Ok, thank you for the reply. I have the Extang Trifecta 2.0 right now and it is easy to remove, literally 3 min to remove and about 5 to install by myself. The only thing I don't like about it is that its not flush, so I'm looking for the easiest to remove/install flush mount tonneau available. This one might be it.

Great install video! I have another brand of cover on my bed and it leaks in the front corners next to the bulkhead in the rain. Do you notice any issues with this using the BAKFLIP?
Hi Robert, thanks for checking out the video. I haven't had any leaks or water pooling by the cab. However, there have been some droplets of water accumulating on the bed by the tailgate hinges. I think wind driven rain comes through the top back corners. Not a big deal for me

Mine leaks pretty bad. Just installed by dealer today so have not had time to troubleshoot. Edit: could be installation issue by dealer, which a self-install could avoid. I got a free install with purchase of truck…got what I paid for.
I am going to buy the same truck this spring. But I have to have the standard bed instead of that tiny short bed..
Nothing wrong with a longer box! My Ford F-150 work truck you see in the background had to have a longer box too!

I would suggest the 6.2. I have had both, but once you have the 6.2, going to the 5.3 feels sluggish. Both are great though. Test drive the 6.2 and you’ll see

Did those foam pads come with yours? Mine was dealer installed and does not have them. On my Colorado it hits the plastic on top of cab roof, not the window, but would be better with pads.
All of the pads came in the box with mine.
great video. I have a quick question, in my truck when I close the back door the rubber part of the cover doesn't lands on the door. I literally have to pull the cover so it can be aligned. can you help me with that
I would suggest loosening all of the hardware just a enough that you can shift the cover and rails around. Then line up exactly where you need the cover to sit. Then retighten all of the hardware.

So far so good and I park outside most if the time. This box cover has been a solid add on
What part of the bed cover sits on the bulkhead seal? I noticed you had to relocate the seal after the first attempt.
The front fixed portion has an aluminum lip that rests on the bulkhead. The instructions have the foam seal applied during one of the first steps. I learned I was better off fully aligning the back with the tailgate first, then noting where to affix the bulkhead seal
Did you look at BakFlip MX4 and/or the undercover Ultra Flex before deciding on GM Rev? If so, what was to deciding factor(s) in choosing the Rev?

Don, I live down south Louisiana, I like your videos, I have a 2021 GMC limited edition myself, 6.2 L, can you do one of the easiest for us that never got to it so far... drop the spare, and tell us about changing a tire, very simple, but I'm sure none of us, knows where anything is...

A quick video on how to properly change the spare on a full size truck… 🤔 Not a bad idea. Is that what you’re suggesting? I am positive there are folks that have never ever needed to do it and are possibly unprepared if the situation came up.
I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 and just purchased the REV cover. I wanted to also buy the tent that you can install inside the bed Part #19417137. However, no one at GM or the Dealer knows if it would fit. According to the FAQ's on the Chevy Accessory web site it says it would fit the roll up cover if the diameter is 6" or less. It does not say anything about the tri fold cover. It appears that there are two bolts with wing nuts underneath holding the cover down. So I'm thinking you will have to unscrew the nuts and take off the cover to install the aforementioned tent. What is your thoughts?
I think I agree with your approach. It is simple to remove the two bolts with the grab handles and lift the cover off. It can be awkward to lift alone but it is possible.
Hey Don, great video, I like your stable! I have similar horses in mine, 2016 435i, 1956 Chev SB (LS conversion), and now a GMC 3500 Denali! How do you like the tonneau cover so far?
I have really enjoyed this cover. I agreed to review a completely different set up so I am no longer using this one. The new one is a fully electric system, so not even in the same class.
I do like your vehicle tastes too.

So you no longer have to have a key with the newer tonneau cover to lock it, correct?
Not this one. The tailgate auto locks which is the only way in. You don’t have to lift the end of the cover to open or close like some of the older styles

You can email with any specifics too. Not sure I will be making a video specific to the cover anytime soon. It is working well. The only spot water gets into that I experience is near the tail lights where a gap exists. But thats normal

How has this cover held up over the last year and a half. I see they are made by BAK, and Ive heard stories of BAK tonneau covers peeling on the surface,
It has been great. Only a couple of the sticky pads that help protect the panels when folded have shifted a bit. Might need to replace them eventually

Once and awhile sure. Depends on your definition of easy. Two people since it can be awkward to carry would be easier
