Hi Teacher Lena....Great video. Like your approach and I find that you are very inspiring. I have applied for Cambly and it will be two months now and no news yet. However, I realize that things are busy. So far I have discovered some drawbacks... 1) Preply doesn't pay for hour long trial classes and so teachers land up spending a lot of time teaching without remuneration and 2) iTalki is now closed for applicants wanting to teach English online T_T
I will keeping batting away however keeping fingers crossed...

Lena good morning since it's dawn time already. I am going to give it another shot through Cambly even though I'm still working with two excellent students who pay me very good for each hour that I am teaching both students from Monday - Thursday from 6 pm - 10 pm, so hopefully I will try to register one more time and see what happens.
Okay! I hope it goes better this time! But try one of these options. How are the independent students going?
@@teacherlena6194 I am totally happy with the independent students even though sometimes they change the schedules because of there employment but it's find me with me I don't mind at all because they always pay me ahead of time and with these students they have been with me close to 3 months now. What other options are you referring to....?

Palfish Overview online says that I must have a TESOL Certificate.
That is if you want to teach classes using their curruculum. You can have your own classes or "free talk" and not need a TESOL... that is what I remember 🙄

They constantly say they're hiring but they constantly ignore people with credentials some type of weird popularity contest
I applied to Cambly a week ago, no response 👀... Do you know if they are currently hiring? I know some people that have waited months to get approved while others get approved in hours.... While I wait I wanted to put othe applications in...
They are currently hiring. They just take a long time to respond some times. You just never know what to expect.
Hi Lena this was so informative I am from South Africa native English speaker. I was rejected from italki, amazing talker and Engoo. Cambly also rejected me today. It's so discouraging but I'm going to try to apply again to Cambly and this morning I applied to Preply just so tough😑😑

I really appreciate the list of other ESL online teaching platforms. It’s always a good idea to never put all of our eggs in one basket. Especially when the competition is high. 😉

I am glad you find the list helpful! I do not know for sure but I believe these companies pay monthly. You can try to visit their websites and see if you can find more info about that.

Hi Lena, thanx sooo much for your sweet, relevant, vital, friendly & helpful informative esl You Tube videos. I have. a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English, Geography & Psychology, a Teaching Diploma & successfully obtained my 120 TESOL certificate in August. I have 8 years of classroomn teaching experience. Applying to online teaching platforms r very exciting but very daunting & overwhelming esp. with the Chinese clamping down on esl teaching & me being quite technically challenged. Plz advise if u can upload different profile photos, tweak the profile along with matching a more appropriate child-friendly option for Cambly kids ..do i do them seperately log outnthen in again with diff. Intro video etc for kids with a puppet friendly map background with colour chart in background? Also nervous about teaching multiple learners..not sure how to share the screen etc, etc..plz advise soonest dear? Kind regards Merle from the beautiful country South Africa
Hello Merle. It’s nice to hear of your excitement for this new position you are seeking. For Cambly you can only submit one photo for both but you will have two videos for each. I hope you are able to find a good company that fits for you soon. I will have a new video for companies that hire SA teachers early next week! 😀
I don’t think Cambly is hiring non natives anymore
Engoo only offers 10 usd/hr to native english speakers, and only to those residing in english speaking countries, if you're not living in those countries they will only pay you 2 usd/hr no matter what your experience or your level in english is .
