    Episode 71
The Balboa Peninsula is a neighborhood of the city of Newport Beach, California. It is named after Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa, the first European to sight the Pacific from the Americas. The peninsula acts as a jetty enclosing the Newport Harbor and Newport Beach's eight islands.
This trip starts in Emerald Bay headed north on the Pacific Coast Highway. At the (12:00) minute mark we pass Fashion Island outdoor shopping complex and Newport Center which is a business, shopping and entertainment district that overlooks Newport Harbor. We turn onto Newport Blvd and the Balboa Peninsula at the (19:27) mark.
Peninsula landmarks include West Jetty Park (29:53), The Balboa Fun Zone (34:20) and The Crab Cooker (38:50).
