  • Even with the engine in, there's still a lot to do! And quite a bit of fabrication to make everything fit properly. Things are starting to get tighter in the engine bay...

    Nice progress! Not sure if you want any advice, but I believe you would be better off making more shorter episodes. I love the build and your content is good, but people are far more likely to click on a shorter video and watch a higher percentage of it. CZcams really likes that. Click through rate and watch time are huge. Also personally I'd be more likely to watch an 8-15 minute video, even though I watch everything on 2X. If you could make this into 3 episodes with brief intros and outros, I think it could serve you well. Just sharing my opinion and what I've learned over time. That oil filter bracket was particularly sweet, by the way.

      Thanks! That bracket took me 4 hrs and two tries to get right. And I appreciate the tip!! I'm not super into trying to become big on this platform, and my videos on this swap are really meant for archival and instructional purposes, so the folks who want the knowledge will sit to watch through it. I appreciate anyone else who sits through just to see my process. 😊

    Hey nice swap. Well I used the same box in my Volvo 240 /7mgte swap ,but I used a silicone pipe and it was flexible Enough to fit behind the right headlight.

    • @winguard96
      @winguard96  Před 3 lety +1

      Nice!! I think the 240 has a bit more room up front than my car, so that probably helped your case. Thankfully trimming the front of the box allowed mine to squeeze in!

    For your power steering idler pump should the In and Out maybe be looped? Not sure if capping it could potentially create a tiny vacuum internally and stop it from rotating. Keep up the videos! Always enjoy watching them in the morning :)

    • @winguard96
      @winguard96  Před 3 lety +1

      Perhaps one way, but then I'd still incur some pumping losses... after thinking about it a bit, I'm leaning more towards the option of gutting the pump and capping the ends. Glad you're enjoying them! The next video is going to be big!! :^)

    Videos are super well put together man. Definitely Subbed. Sometimes I wish I went 1UZ over the BEAMS. Your car is so damn clean. lol Keep it up. Cant wait for the next update. Just my 2 cents. The problem with using the power steering pump as an idler is that its a hydraulic pump. the fluid lubricates the internals. if you can get fluid in it and cap it off you might be ok. they cant be run without fluid (long). it would have the potential to lock up. if you took out the vane inside the pump I would be worried that the shaft would not have stability. at 3k rpm you might get some wobble. have you looked at an ac delete? you might be able to modify it to fit that area.

    • @winguard96
      @winguard96  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you so much dude! Really appreciate the sub. Next update may take some weeks but it'll be an important video for sure. Thanks for the thoughts on the PS pump; after looking at the factory service manual, I think I may just create a looped line and suffer some pumping losses until I get my custom idler setup. I won't be doing an A/C delete since I'd like to get that working; the Celica is a street car after all. 😁

      @@slammed_accord sorry I never responded. At the time of doing the beam swap All parts & repair information are difficult to get. If you had to do any kind of major diagnostic going to have to trust forums. If you try to get any more power out of it you're looking at big big money.

      @winguard96  Před 3 lety

      Thanks! I haven't talked about the suspension just yet, that'll come in a later video once the swap is done since I'm upgrading the setup a bit. You can find all the details of my work here: www.celica-gts.com/forums/index.php?topic=30743.0
      The idea for the fronts between RA64/65 are the same, but it'll be a little bit different in the back for the RA65, since it has IRS.

    hey man, thanks so much for doing this series, im learning so much for my swap. I just had a quick question, did you use a spacer for your pilot bearing? if not, did you just sink it all the way in or just make it flush?
