Palia Housing Tutorials #4 - The Courtyard & The Working Door

- Greetings Palian Housing Enthusiasts!
Today we will be going over how to make a working connection to enclose a courtyard.
We will need some supplies before we get started:
For the method I will be showing we will need
- 4 hallways
- 2 Kilima Doors
& Lastly and most importantly you will need 1 additional player with Editor privileges as we will be using the "Synchronized placement" method in this tutorial.
[NOTE: if you are unfamiliar with Synchronized Placement please see Snapdragon's video on merging items]
I have it cued to the part on Synchronized Placement ► • Palia - Merging Items ...

So the order we do this in is going to be very important, because at the end of the construction we will be at 15 total rooms, and unable to place any additions.
[NOTE: At the time of recording, the bug the persists where if you are at max rooms - you are unable to place any additions I.E Doors, Fireplaces or Porches.]
With that in Mind it is important to do the steps in order otherwise you will get stuck partway through.
[NEW NOTE: Since the time of this recording, the bug has been fixed {yay ^-^} & you no longer need to follow the steps in perfect order.]
With that out of the way, let's hop to it ^v^
►Step 1:
For starters we will place 2 hallways down.
►Step 2:
After which we will attach a Kilima Door to each Hallway we just placed.
►Step 3:
Now place down a hallway on each side of the hallways with the doors
►Step 4:
Move the hallways with the doors - to the hallways without [this should give us 2 assemblies consisting of 2 hallways & 1 door]
►Step 5:
You and the Editor each move an assembly from their location on the side of the building to their final location in the middle - at the same time.
[I find a countdown helps. As well as a ready check]

does the door cliping still work?
This is fantastic. although when did doors start to count as a building? :( I can't get this to work as my doors are counting towards my building limit.
Sorry this is a known issue that they are still working tirelessly to sort out :(
- This is why it is important to do the steps in order
- Place 2 Hallways down
- Attach a door to each hallway to create our "assembly"
- Then place the last 2 hallways down that you will then move the previously made assemblies to. ^v^>
(EDIT: though after writing this, I realize... I may need to look over my wording in the write up :/)
Can you place the rooms back in inventory? I have tried ans couldn't figure out how.
Question: Can you place rooms back to your inventory?
Anwer: Yes, absolutely!
You just need to hover over the room so it is highlighted in yellow [The same way you would if you were going to move it somewhere else on the plot] instead of "Left Clicking"
- You Right Click
- Though this comes with a big:
~_~_~_⚠️WARNING⚠️~_~_~_
- If there are any items in the room, it will ask you if you would like to pick them up as well.
- Before you confirm, go to the room you are picking up and make sure:
- ALL STORAGE CHESTS & LOCKBOXES have been moved elsewhere.
I can not stress this enough because:
- while storage for decorations is unlimited
- storage for Bugs🦋 Fish 🐠 & Food🥪 isn't 🥵
- so if you accidentally pick up a storage chest and then pick up more rooms and those rooms have any of the 3 things listed above...
- they could get lost to the void if your storage is over capacity
Do you have to put a door on both sides? I love this idea but I only want one door instead of two. Thanks for your video.
To have the loop you need the door on both sides,
in theory you can achieve this by having only 1 door, but that would involve removing a wall - which get's slightly more complicated. >.>

You did not show how to get to the courtyard
O.o oh my word you are right 😅 though luckily with this design you should be able to just place a porch on the back end of the harvest house & that should give you access.❤😊
