since the change to require 3 tomatoes per seed I've switch to making tomatoes into pickled tomatoes with the craft preserve barrels.
I have been doing this for several days already. I use the non star ones in the preserver for a bunch of food. I hate cooking so this works great for me.

If they nerf this I will honestly stop playing. It is the only and most convenient way to make gold. I've tried hunting and fishing and Bug catching and cooking and everything else, and they are just annoying. I looked into farming in a really efficient way and it's just annoying. This is just all Tomatoes all seeds and a decent stream of income. If they remove that, it will be too tedious for me to put more time into the game and I will honestly just be done. Even with this, I still always need money. For more machines or licenses or a million other things. To support my goal of unlocking every decorating item. So honestly hopefully they don't nerf this.
I juntes to grind for gold, as did most, abs not it takes an eternity. This is a good alternative but really what the need to do is just fix the game economy and we can all spend more time actually playing and exploring instead of gold farming.

I don't get why the nerfed the hunting, sometimes I see 5 or 6 of us in same area trying to hunt, that sorta sucks. I can see them messing with farming cuz well in my case I do it alone & you don't have to constantly be on top of it, but hunting bah frustrates me when I'm chasing a senlak & someone scares it off or shoots it before I do.
Tomatoes are great for lazy farming, but if you do the math, it's one of the worst money/day ratio. Just drop lots of seed makers, make sure to get all the starry seeds you can and do rice until you can do berries and then apples. Then just do 8 apples and maybe keep one plot for cooking ingredients. That way watering the right corner means you are watering 4x9 slots AT ONCE, AND apples have the highest gold/day ratio. Drop fertilizer on top and it's even better. Drop down a lot of jam makers, and bam, best current money/slot and least amount of watering/replanting/slot.
So rice and apples are best then? I just unlocked the ability to do peppers and always wondered why no one ever does them…
Wake up rich? You WERE rich before you spent all your gold and TIME getting to the point where you could have all of this set up. So.
Really this is the rich persons method to perpetuate their income.
The point of an AFK farm is not having to water, that is why the layout is important, you aren't going to "wake up rich" if while you were sleeping you missed watering plus you do have to go back every hour to two hours to water, making this not an AFK farm at all, it is just a basic tomato farm.
this guid is good but this is only good for people that can place 8 seed makers and multiple glow worm farms it dont help anyone get to that point anyone at that point can earn money easily but good video but need videos for people starting out to make money
Starting out the best money maker is hunting hands down.. period. There is no contender... and he has made multiple guides regarding that. This guide is definitely for mid-game players for sure.
With this guide you can use it as a starting point.. start with 2 plots and one or 2 seed makers.. and grow from there. Farming is always worth investing in whether it's beginner or late game.
You can also gather as much lotus and moss as you can and cook Fisherman's Brew to sell. You just gather it while you're also hunting down south.
Anyone in here screaming for a nerf needs to really understand what Cozy means. Stop pushing for nerfs when 90 percent of this game is you and your imagination on how you want to design your house. After many years of heavy MMO playing with multiple titles, it's really nice to sit in my comfy cozy chair and just relax playing a Cozy game like Palia. Enjoy your time but please don't ruin others when you're wanting them to nerf something that doesn't need to be nerfed.

I keep all 81 spots loaded up with Tomatoes (except when I need a few other things for cooking) and I'm making 15-20K each day in residual income while I go out Hunting & Questing, I have 5 Seed Collectors & 5 Worm Farms. I totally agree, this is a great way to make a lot of money. 👍

I prefer potato/tomato in diagonal rows, so I don't have to water em each day
I’ve found that I end up watering some crops anyway because weeds will some times cause the plant to need watering, so I think I’ll switch to this layout lol

Honestly for everyone watching this video, just use a tomato, potato, wheat combo and it'll take less time then he's showing in this vid cause you don't need to fertilize or water (gotta water once on replant only)
Water retain is nice and all but in the end Tomato plants have 4x more yield and make things a lot easier (bag/chest management wise, seed hopper wise, glow worm farm wise, layout plant speed wise and cooking wise). Just watering isnt as good but thats the only - vs all the +++

yep I was just calculating this all out coin/min vs jams as well. this is about 2.96 coin/min vs like 1.96 for potato jams.
Does it matter if you use tomato with a star in the glow worm farm or without the star?
My seed maker says it takes 3 tomato's to make 2 bags of seeds.

Im having this issue too. My fertilizer disappears sometimes it seems.
Could you explain how fertilizer works? Im confused on it. Each day it ticks, one of the fertilizer goes away. So is that harvest boost count stacking each day til its harvested? Or is it just not working at all if its being used on the days that aren't a harvest day? I can't tell if Im just wasting my fertilizer.

I don't have a single recipe that uses Knapweed
good but at your farming level, quality boost is probably worth it. personally i use quality fertiliser, sacrifice 17 plots for wheat or rice (can also make stir fry for food now). only 4 tomato plants arent covered with my layout and this gives me much more quality tomatos. (you could use harvest fert and cotton ofc as well). Word is at farming level 25 quality seeds are enough for 100% quality results and no extra quality boost is needed

WARNING: 7:23 As of right now, you can only have 1 entrance (Harvest House) on your ground, DO NOT buy multi of those as the game will tell you "cant place more of said item".
Its stupid imo and hopefully will be fixed later on, i mean, if you have a gaint house, surely one will think 2 or 3 entrance had been nice (2 front, 1 back side), but noo, you can only have 1 harvest house build pr ground.

When it comes to putting on the increased harvest amount fertilizer, do you put it on every in game day or just the day you harvest?
the numbers next to the fertilizer refer to how many days worth of fertilizer has been spread.
And fertilizer stack, so can put more than 1 on each seed space.
I started the game by only planting what the most profitable crop which is tomatoes, from one plot to nine only planted tomatoes now 1 month later i earn 500k plus, already bought, 2 med room, 3 large room, 1 extra harvest room and courtyard also bought furniturea in underground, I then discovered that there is plot layout which is mix plants, i tried it but i go back to tomatoes and apple xD

3:25 what do you mean by "i think you can make it even more efficient if you have some tree around it"? is there like a hidden mechanic that the crops grow faster when there are trees around it?...
Apple trees add a boost, but takes up all nine spots in 1 plot. So it might not be worth it. Regular trees do NOT provide any kind of boost.
I plant all tomatoes but plant couple rows per day to try to have harvest every day once they all are grown. Day 1 will plant 27 seeds on rows, 1/ 5/ 9; Day 2 plant 18 seeds on rows 2/6, day 3 on rows 3/7, and on day 4 rows 4/8... so once all are growing, every other row would yield fruit every day until you have to plant seeds again. Sure you don't get the BIG payout when you plant everything at once. but I like how easy it is to manage.

You can use regular work farm, there are sheets to what the output is.
For me what makes tomatoes a fine way to make gold, even if its slow... is the actual multiple gathering mechanic, even if they nerf this, and I mean the prices... I would keep planting tomatoes.
Not sure but if you have tons of poops you can put multiple of it on 1 tile. Don't know if it stacked, just goes out longer or just be wasted but yeah there's that.
In Alpha it would just use it whenever it needed it again - so for tomatoes every time you harvest (or have to replant) a stack of fertilizer would be used

Yeah gold for furniture blueprints, gold for black market furniture, gold for house add ons. Gold is needed a lot. And with multiple plots of houses (if you have ur own community & dedicate 1 plot for all community building, decorating etc)
You will need to spend constantly for awhile.
Of course the money is right, but this still only works when you are already further in the game and honestly, I dont feel it is worth to fret over the farm. Im going by planting the self watering system because it feels more convenietnt to me. This will not make you money when you actually need it early on.
Thats where the Sernuk hunting comes in for early money farming ^^
@@04AMofficialI did play just like you. I did so much hunting until I can gather enough tomato seeds. And now I am earning steadily because of farming. I water every time I go back home from grinding outside. So it is really not that hard compared to doing a pattern which I tried too.
Farming is ALWAYS worth investing in.. whether you are new or late game the passive income will be there.
i have a little short of 50k for final back pack. should i spend it on the upgrade or on my farm ? got 4 plots and 8 "machines" invest in 4 more plots and some seed makers or the back pack for grindage ?
Way better to invest in your farm. The bigger your farm and the more you can plant the more money you will make and the faster you'll be able to make back the money to get that 50k for the backpack.

Can you tell me what Knapweed is used for in cooking? I'm fairly sure I've cooked all dishes and none of them call for knapweed to my knowledge.
Knapweed is literally just the weeds you pick off the plants. Afaik no use as of rn. Sells for like 10g.

one fertilizer = one day. they stack though, so you can put 10 fertilizers on a plant and it will keep the plant fertilized for 10 days :)

Look at the rows upon rows of seed makers on these streamers' farm and you know they are also doing it big time, but they are keeping mum. So now its public info, prepare for the incoming big nerf.
@@moesanrath Press G on your farm. Info pops up about each plant and any boosts they have. This includes how many fertilizers are added to each plot.

i do all high ranked tomatos but i dont say i got so much every day because tomatos need time to grow.... its not every day
and 7k - 8k is much more realistik as 15k-30k

I dont think it will be smart of them to nerf things. Previous 'nerfs' werent that bad. They better nerf 25 man cooking parties then as they can literally make you 60K gold per hour :P

I only use star tomatoes for worms if i dont get enough normal quality ones. Ofc use those first and process as much star quality into seeds

If you dont have glow worm farms you can do tomato and rice. The rice can then be used to make sashimi which you can put in your glow worm farms when you eventually get it, or just sold as is. Alternatively you can do tomato and potato and seed everything if you want to just keep the process streamlined.

How did you get the Harvest Boost Level 3? With the fertilizer from Glow Worm Farm, they still are only on Harvest Boost 1 for me. Please adivce :)
Just place more seeds on one soil, doesnt increase level but the fertility 'length' in time. Harvest boost 10 means youve placed 10x the fertilizer which will last 10 in game days or 10 real hours
They just nerf this one, really disappointed, now tomatoes seeds require 3 tomatoes instead of 2.

Nope, so better use normal ones!

The best is tomatoes by a long shot, blueberries and apples are much less gold overall unless u baking
I went to work with my little plot of 6 tomatoes and 2 potatoes, when I got home none of them had grown as I had been disconnected. Did they add a afk kick?
There has always been a kick after a certain amount of time. You can't afk for 24 hours and come back still logged in.
Sometimes the server restarts, updates for mainenance etc as well.
The point is to garden and place your harvest in the Seed Makers when playing and get the rewards after as the Seed Makers continue to work when not online

But I find the constant watering and weeding a chore. I rather have a layout with 100% watering and weeding and let it grow. Because I usually forget to weed and water. Any optimal option for lazy farmers?
This is for lazy farmers :D Having to replant complicated layouts is 10x more labor intensive. Watering with exquisite can literally takes seconds, as well as planting the plant. It can take you a lot of time to replant different plants every time and you also want to harvest them at different moments for maximum yield so its a chaotic mess imo. But ofc you could do that if you dont want to water every now and then, but trust me in the long run it will cost you A LOT more time, i tried it

Because the star tomatoes are more valuable and increase even more in value when turned into seeds! Better place normal tomatoes in glow worm farms because its not a different result you get from them, but this farm makes so many potatoes i dont mind putting in star quality every now and then as long as my glow farms keep running
Time is really the crux. Even with all of his seed makers he is producing way more then they can process in a day. So he prioritizes the higher value return (being the star), and most likely just throws the rest in the sell bin.
FYI: Planting star seeds has a % chance to give you a star return. The higher your skill also adds a %. At least that is what I heard from another YT'er with 20 some skill.
As to the worm farm.. I don't know if using a star veg will produce more or not. I assume not, but like I said don't know. Would have to try it out.

I am pretty sure it was stealing furniture & crops can only be harvested by who plants them & the housing plot belongs too. I was not able to plant or harvest at friends plots. U can hoe & water but that is it. Plus just change & lock your plots before getting off for the night.
U can't enter someone else plot when the other is offline

it takes 3 tomaotes to make 2 seeds actually. Idk what about this farm is AFK though? because you have to water every in game day so you cant be AFK for it. This is also not easily attainable for early game because of how much those crafting licenses cost. early game you are lucky to get 2 seed makers. this is an end game set up. Maybe you should have an alternate account so you can remember what early game is actually like? Thanks.

I bought recipes, bag upgrade and another room for my house. Since then I haven't spent a single piece of gold. So what is the purpose of gaining gold?
You have no idea how much gold you need? :d for starters, the final backpack upgrade is 50K, 2 chests are 125K togethers, add in some house upgrades and max lv blueprints and you'll have a shopping list of +300K very fast
@@04AMofficial it takes a certain level of skill to unlock certain upgrade recipes. By the time my fishing skill is high enough to buy the next fishingpole, I've caught and sold so many fish, I have more than enough gold to buy the blueprint. No need to grind anything. Just enjoying the gameplay in a financially well balanced game.
I saw an arcade game console for sale in Zeki's basement for 10.000. Then I figured what the extra money is for.
@@Firise the arcade machine is 60k, you can get up to 30 machines on the home and the price per machine gets up to 32k for the last machine slot, if u want the gazebo unlocked it costs 235k, final backpack is 50k, to get iron storage costs 125k (copper + iron upgrade) some of the higher quality wallpapers are 25k each, allot of items at the night market range from 8-20k, so there are plenty of things to spend money on.
sadly the game is not really balanced for earning cash tho, the cake cooking parties can net you gold cap in afew hours pretty easily.
@@KalisaFox wallpapers and arcade machines aren't necessary though. But I figure having money makes it possible to buy the fun stuff. The necessary recipes for upgraded tools are actually cheap enough to buy without coin grinding.
@@Firise oh true, the most expensive utility stuff would be the machine slots, bag space, and storage upgrades then, which are still combined around 400-500k? it all depends on what ur goal is in the game as well, money is just a means for most to decorate their home, so farming gold could be seen as needed for some of the more expensive peices (like that gazebo)
also most tool upgrades are not needed, only the axe and pickaxe would probably be considered nessisary for the materials, everything else just makes farming alittle easier in their respective professions.
money also allows you to buy the materials u may hate to farm, like silk or iron, i probably have spent 100k on silk and iron alone but i need so much for the stuff i want to do.

This is nerfed for a few days now. You no longer get more than 1 tick if you go offline, so you have to login every hour for each subsequent tick to apply (with water rentention etc)

Hes talking about the seed maker taking that much time, not the growing itself.
It never even gave you more than 1 tick while offline/not on the plot. At least not since closed/open beta started. He's talking about the seed collectors left running over night.
Also this has been nerfed... it's 3 plants per 2 seeds... not as worth to spam them.... Do a GRID Layout of 4 different crops and you'll get high quality crops 75% of the time.... still can be done AFK, also 100% hydration and 100% weed free... truly afk.

You do not "need" the number he has.,.. you can start as slow as you want and scale up.. I think he has 4 glow worm farms in the video.
Its definitely not worth doing like this, this way will require a lot of work from you! You got 160 star quality tomatoes from having 81 totamto plants with no boost what so-ever. Yes you can apply boost with Fertilizers, but they tick each day -1 so it would consume -81 fertilizers each real life hour!! And crafting 1 Harvest Boost Fertilizer is = 1 real life hour, so do the math. It wont work!
And doing it this way you must water the plants EACH day.. so if you're out farming or doing stuff you will have the stress knowing you have to cancel it each hour to go water your plants in order for the plants to grow. If you use a template plot with Harvest Boost and Water Retain (its really not hard, there's guides on it) you will have around 45 Tomato Plants, and that will give you around 90 Quality Tomatoes!
And remember, this is without needing to water each day. Even with this setup you will have more tomatoes that you have seed makers for.
It all comes down to how many seed makers you have really! I have 8 seed makers as well and I have like 200 quality tomatos in my chest that I dont have seed makers for..
So its worth checking out a guide on how to plant your crops in a smart way to minimize the work on the plot each day!

It depends what you want. Your point is correct that you do have to put a lot more time into it this way. I have set up like this and I have to always be watering and weeding. But I have so many tomatoes and I use the quality fertilizer from the regular worm machines. I have more fertilizer than I know what to do with. I just always put the regular tomatoes in the worm machines and the quality tomatoes in the seed machines. The leftover regular Tomatoes can be used in cooking. You can cut down on how many tomatoes you have and do a pattern like you mentioned and that would be much easier for people who are just running around or don't want to worry about their Farm. But if I have to run out, I anyway have to keep returning to manage my inventory and sell or keep things so I can clear space again. If I play for a few hours, it's not a huge deal to return home once every hour or two or even three. You don't need to be hyper-efficient and manage your farm every single hour. You would have to do that if you want to maximize everything, but it doesn't always have to be perfect. I do think never having to water or weed my garden would be so nice, but doing it this way I don't have to think about patterns and I also get so many seeds to sell and tomatoes for fertilizer and for cooking. So I don't think one way is better than the other just depends what you want to do with your time.
I dont do fertilizers, I just plant star tomato seeds

Yes problem is that you wont wake up rich this way. Since the crops wont continue grow after next day since they need water! So if you "Want to wake up rich" you need a template with Water Retain and Harvest Boost! @@RoseDragoness

Tried it out and it wasn't bad, but it was really annoying to have to water it constantly. So I didn't get to wake up and have a free harvest. I'm gonna try alternating rows of tomato and potato and see how that does.
Youll lose a lot of time placing that layout every time but good luck! I find this one the most time and cost efficient
What we need are more than 9 plots to plant on. I sent a request to Palia to approve up to 36 plots or more; for now, I asked for (9x4=36 plots). Hopefully, they'll give us more. I would sacrifice outdoor decorations for plots to plant seeds & harvest instead. Please help and send in a request for more plots! Come on, everyone, IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO BE HEARD.

Hehe nerf what? I mean sure this is passive income, but it takes alot of hours to get those money! I mean you can still make like 10-15k doing something active in-game. So it all depends on how you want to play I guess?
This is exactly what I did. The only difference now is I have one apple tree in the middle. And then I pick the apples and put them in the preserves to be jarred. And then I can use these jars now for my focus and not have to cook anymore, because I find cooking boring. I believe each apple preserve get something like 350 Focus?
Even more, about 500 focus and the jam gets you a lot of money also
@@nathaliecarluccio7559 yeah, I saw it was worth a nice amount of money, but it's worth foregoing the money and keeping it for Focus so I don't have to worry about other ingredients for cooking or the time for cooking.

Nah, buy some craft licenses early or remove your sawmill and smelter to be able to place more. Its pretty cheap on the resources and convert your profit in more makers
I've been playing the game for four days. I only have four plots and I had scrambled to get everything I needed to set this up. But I have five seed makers going right now and one glow worm farm. Maybe tomorrow I'll have enough fertilizer to cover the field.

Thats great and fantastic but how long does it take to have that many plots? That many seed makers and the glow worm machines? You are showing how to make all this money but how long and what does it take to have all this stuff to do it with? It all seems like higher end game play.

So wait 1 tomato is 34, 2 means 68, but a ssed bag is 60 so you are loosing 8 gold???
2 tomatoes are converted into 2 seed bags, so you basically almost double the value ^^

The city hall is where you use renown to buy more land & has the crafting station license (which costs little gold to begin with) but as you buy more crafting station licenses, the gold price increases. You can have a max of 30 stations on your house plot, but to get that last license cost 32k-34k to get it.
Gold is needed for sooooo much in Palia.
They're definitely going to get rid of this ASAP.

People please note: It now takes 3 tomatoes to make 1 tomato seed ....... so 3 x gold star tomatoes @ 34 gold each (total of 102 gold) becomes 1 seed with the value of 60 gold .... making tomato seed is fine if you plan to plant them .... but making your gold star tomatoes into seed and then sell the seeds, you will lose money
Correct me if i'm wrong please, but, we use 3 star tomates on the seeder as you said but it doesn't give us 1 seed but 2. So 102 (3x34) turns to 120 (2x60) not 60.
