Palia Housing Tutorials #5 Interior Doors

~_~_~*Today we will be going over*~_~_~
► How to Install an Interior Door
~_~_~_~_*Supplies*~_~_~_~_~_
For today's Video we will be using:
► 1 Harvest House
► 1 Kilima Door
► 1 Room of any size
► Lastly & most importantly you will need 1 additional player with Editor privileges as we will be using the "Synchronized placement" method in this tutorial.
{*NOTE:* If you are unfamiliar with Synchronized Placement please see Snapdragon's video on merging items ► • Palia - Merging Items ... ◄ I have it cued to the part on Synchronized Placement}
With the shopping list out of the way, let's hop to it ^v^/
~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_*STEPS*~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_
Step 1:
► Place our Room on 1 side of the Harvest House
Step 2:
► Place Our door on another side of the Harvest house
Step 3:
► Change opening type from double doorway to Single doorway (this will make the walls match up perfectly)
{*NOTE:* It was kind of a happy accident that I forgot todo step 3 in the video but I decided to just roll with it xp}
Step 4:
► Move your room away from it's final position (it can be anywhere, just not the connection we just changed to a single doorway)
Step 5:
► Both you and your Editor friend each move the room and the Kilima Door to the same socket at the same time using the "Synchronized placement" method.
{*NOTE:* my friend Ash uses a "3,2,1,Click" countdown that's very effective & I highly recommend ♥}

That's an awesome use of a glitch, I wish they'd just add a freaking door tho. lol.
I couldn't agree with you more 😳 There does seem to be something... FINALLY in the works that's been datamined recently that's literally just tagged as being a "place-able door." But it doesn't have a proper name, or even an Icon yet 🤔 🙄 😕 😅 sooo time will only tell as to when we will actually see that come in.

Now that you can place down a second Harvest House on your Plot
You could use that as a "pallet" of sorts.
Placing your door and moving your room over to the secondary harvest house. And then installing the door where you want it 😅
How are you making the door turn red?
Add some commentary. You could do it with on-screen captions if you don't like the sound of your voice.
Show don't tell. Did you know it takes about 25 written steps to describe to someone how to make a simple cup of tea? This is better.

@@Kayenne54 "Show, don't tell" is a rule for narrative works of art, not for technical how-to videos. For those, it's better to show *and* tell - to explain how and why you're doing what you're doing. That is especially appropriate when dealing with glitch-building.
@@the8ctagon Two words: "Interior Doors". Explained the whole point of this video. Look, normally I wouldn't get bogged down in semantics with an internet stranger, but what is not to comprehend about this CLEAR, CONCISE, TO THE POINT, video? If I can quickly and clearly understand what needs to be done, it is very safe to assume EveryPerson would more likely get it. Because if someone can get confused about 'what to do next' from a long, wordy video, it's me. 🙂

& @the8ctagon I couldn't agree more - & I've actually been wanting to develop my videos more.
► The current format is due to the fact that people from different areas of the globe have become fans of mine.
► & due to this I have opted to have my "explanation" bits in the Description - so google is able to translate them into different languages more easily.
►Though now that I've done more research into the translation capabilities of google lens, I'm think I'm definitely ready to take the next step.
Is it possible to add a door between 2 large rooms and not just the harvest house and a large room?
Oh 100% ♥^w^♥ You basically just replace the Harvest House in the example with second Large room ♥^w^♥
I guess it onlt works for rooms with the same size...i tried to put door in a medium room conecting to the bigger and it didnt work
Out of curiosity - what was the connection that you were trying to do?
I've done a lot of testing with the interior door for my upcoming reshoot of this tutorial.
But I may have missed yours 😅
This doesn't work for me for some reason, I've tried doing it on small and meadim rooms and nothing... weird

● My Tiny Tiger & I did a blitz of testing first thing this morning! [he loved that just as much as you'd think]
▼▲▼▲▼▲Here were our results▼▲▼▲▼▲
∟When performing the method on the harvest house with a Large room the results were positive
[so we decided to get creative]
∟We then attempted to do a Medium room - Hallway - Hallway - Medium room assembly - with doors on either side of the hallway and found that when you do this:
►The wall on the medium room 2 get's removed O.O - so... not great◄
∟But if we put the door on the other side of the hallways [being attached to the medium room] it works as it should.
∟We then did a small room on small room connection and aside from having a slight double doorway
{due to small rooms having thinner walls] the method works as it should.
Doesn't work for me either. But then again it is just after patch. It may have worked before

Yeah, this >.< wasn't one of my better one's the new tutorial that should be coming out in the next few days will be much more to the point. Unfortunately, this was during my experimental phase. & I think I was going for more of a comical concept as opposed to my newer tutorials I have in the works that will be much more concise & to the point. 🥰
