It's a lot more focused on defense and urban combat, it's heavy armor and crew placement ensures that even if the tank is hit the crew will survive, while this fits Israeli needs it isn't necessarily better than other MBTs

I love how Israel has always punched above it's weight class. The intellect to have the most advanced weapons, yet the humility and bravery to fight with what ever is available. This can be seen from it's early days converting WW2 tanks, trucks, whatever was around, into formidable weapons of deterrent or full on assault if needed. The number of times they mentioned assassinate in this video shows it's logic that the removal of key players to prevent the death of thousands is more moral than wholesale carnage of war and the death of innocents. All countries could learn from Israel.
It helps to get billions of free support every year from our taxpayers, too.

The trophy protection system is so freaking awesome
I can't feel sorry for Russia, but they did kinda put themselves in a bind with that. They sent weapons to Israel's enemies, namely the Kornet heavy ATGM. The Israelis reacted by developing the Trophy, which can take down anything, up to and including the Russian Kornet, and then sold it to the US (for our Abrams), and the Germans (for their Leopards), with a possible deal with the British (for their Challengers). Suddenly, Russia realizes that their poor decision with Israel has resulted in all of the nations they consider their top competitors having a system that will stop 90% of their heaviest anti-tank missiles before they even touch the tank.
The same is true with their missile defense systems, which they sent to Syria and Iran, only to give the IAF the perfect opportunity to develop countermeasures against it. They can't even lock AIF jets even when they detect them (which is rare). While it's unconfirmed if the US has adopted the systems that negate the Russian systems, the deal Israel has with the US is that they can alter any weapons system that they want, but must share those changes with the US. The companies love this deal, as it basically means that the IDF does free stress-testing, troubleshooting, and upgrades to their weapons, which often get carried over to their normal products. Given this, it's very unlikely that the US hasn't adopted at least some of those updates.

@@georgepalmer5497 No, it was designed specifically to take out ATGMs, as that is the largest threat against the Merkeva (no tank wants to get into a slugging contest with one, even with sabots). There is a secondary system called the Iron Fist that can take out sabot projectiles, but it's much less common. It operates similarly to the Trophy, but uses an explosive charge that proximity-detonates to knock a projectile off course. It's lighter and can be put onto more vehicles, including helicopters, but it has only 4 ammo per reload and can't engage simultaneous threats.

@@georgepalmer5497 Yeah, that's why Iron Fist is so much more effective than Trophy for penetrators. Its proximity charge can deflect sabot rounds, while the flak cannon used by Trophy is specialized to shred missiles, not solid kinetic projectiles. Ironically, this is part of the reason why Trophy is so effective against ATGMs when compared to competitor systems--it's hyper-specialized on a specific class of threat, while a lot of others spread themselves too thin trying to cover everything, and ending up covering nothing.

No, you need the Blue Spear. It was co-developed by Israel and Singapore, and is a stealth missile designed to kill any ship smaller than a Gerald Ford class aircraft carrier (ie. anything Russia has in the water). It would let Ukraine deny Russia access to the coastline and threaten to kill any ship used to fire missiles into Ukraine.
Alternately, Ukraine should be given Spikes. The rest of Europe is happy to give away their Javelins because those were made obsolete by Spikes years ago. It's a similar size, but the spike is indirect fire (ie. it is fired up, then selects a target and hits it from above), fire and forget (ie. you don't need to guide it beyond pointing at a target), and has a variable range of close (like the Javelin) to LR (30km away). The best part is, it's a very simple system, and there is a factory in Germany that makes them for much of Europe, so shipping them into Ukraine wouldn't be hard. Similarly, Israel should give Ukraine their retired Pereh vehicles. Those look like tanks, and even have a fake turret to sell the illusion, but they are actually tank-killers that can simultaneously fire 12 Spike missiles at up to 12 enemy tanks (eg. 1 of them vs 4 enemy tanks would result in each enemy tank getting 3 HEAT anti-tank missiles locked onto it). I'd like to see a couple Russian tank columns meet a few of those.
Ukraine has been using some Israeli Aerostar drones, but I would love to see them be given Harop drones. The Iranians made their Shahed-22 suicide drones based on the Harop, which are twice as fast and hit harder, so it would be a nice bit of payback for the Ukrainians to start hitting them with those.
You know, we would, we actually want to but it might deal great dmg to our defensive systems, if they get caught, putin might attack us when we fly above syria, tho we did accept immigrants and refugees from ukraine, and passed a whole lot of information on how to fight their systems
