Its not really surprising that food from food wars works out well. A chef by the name of Yuki Morisaki provides food wars with its recipes since chapter 5. She's also the author of the official food wars recipe book which features some 27 dishes that came out in the series.

I have to say, Food Wars has some of the most exotic food that doesn't come off as pretentious and genuinely sounds and looks delicious. Alvin does this series justice for certain.

i'm more than positive it can! the banana really brings just a very small amount of sweetness to the chutney, but im sure it won't break the dish to not use it!

Been watching the series Restaurant to Another World and while the foods there are simpler than in Food Wars (and most are traditional yōshoku) I think it'd be a great one to explore!
You should make the curry buns from black butler! I always wanted one every time i watched that episode so seeing it come to life would be an absolute dream
There's endless content just from Food Wars alone and I love it :) Nice to see the foods on there brought to life because sometimes they seem too over the top to be real (and maybe some are). Thank you for this series and thank you for making this dish!

Arborio is used for risotto only outside of Italy, where risotto was invented. We only use Carnaroli or Vialone Nano. To an Italian making risotto with Arborio is like making croissants with vegetable oil instead of butter.

You can find recipes for this with measurements. Not all of them are the same. I dont mind that personally. I often combine recipes for the same dish anyways.
Isn't omurice supposed to have the omelette on top of the rice? And then you slice open the omelette and a custardy interior spills out over the rice? This omelette looked a lot firmer than what I've seen in other preparations. Also, I'm used to seeing wine added to the arborio early in the cooking process and then reduced off before the stock is added. I suppose there's enough going on here that you wouldn't notice the difference. Still looks pretty awesome.
It was a real missed opportunity there with the countdown to a clothes explosion. You could've had someone throw some clothes from out of frame once he hit one.
Alvan feels like the only addition to this channel that feels natural. No offense to the other creators you've brought on, but they don't feel like the "babish" brand you've built. They're very high energy or large scale. Alvan fits comfortably in that "goofball guy talks to me with a nice voice while making delicious food in a warm kitchen" style that I subscribed for.

That omurice technique is ingenious. Much simpler than the japanese chef's technique.
But it also doesn't achieve the same thing. It doesn't seal the filling inside completely, which is part of the charm of omurice.

I was honestly expecting that, and I'm not sure if I got my expectations subverted.
What I loved was this was second place in the fall selection prelims, but individual scores showed that had it been a shokugeki Soma would've won.
