President Zelenskyy should request President Macron, President Duda, Prime Minister Sunak, and three Baltic States to send in troops for backup before it's too late because Putin is currently planning for a massive offense with multiple fronts. Thus, it's better to be safe than sorry!

Or should we ask Zelensky to mobilise several million men to defend Ukraine?

That might work. I don't think Russia will use nukes until the US directly intervenes. If European countries like France send troops it shouldn't cause much escalation.
I think Russia's biggest concern is direct US involvement as it will open up their eastern front to attacks.

Hungary truly is the EU's 'special child' that needs to ride the short bus to their special school. The problem is that the second the EU drops them, they run straight into the arms of Russia. Give it a year or two and then drop them LOL

Used to be the French that were ridiculed as white flag waving soldiers afraid to fight. Now they are showing more courage and integrity than most of Europe. Ukraine is still only receiving 33% of promised aid, the countries like Germany are far behind promises.

The War is not just a physical thing, it's also psychological. The bully in the schoolyard doesn't usually go after the ones that are perceived as strong, they usually go after the weak who can be easily beaten. So Macron showing strength is the correct thing to do. On the other hand, if you make a powerful statement, you have to consider it carefully, because if you, say, make a threat about crossing a red line, and you are not able to follow through on the consequence, you are going to effectively put yourself in a corner and appear weak, and that situation will be exploited. I've seen that exact situation with Obama during the Syrian conflict where he appeared to turn chicken, and that situation was exploited to the maximum by Putin and his Syrian friend.

Macron IS on the right path. Can you Imagine the strength & power a truly cohesive EU would be? The EU would be an Economic & Military powerhouse without the USA. More co-operation is needed between European members.
When 9-11 hit New York, I was working upstate. Not only did the rest of the state respond to New York City's need; but other states from all over the USA responded saying," Whatever you need." Many came and volunteered; they just wanted to help. That was a great time to be an American. Since then, I have been able to respond likewise in kind for times of others in need. We cannot ignore our neighbors in times of need.
