This is good practice while standing in the subway. Everyone seems to crouch in defensive mode - I visualize that I am a space alien and my neck is stretching up by inches above everyone - when the neck goes up the shoulders go down.
While walking in the streets I visualize a string pulling me by the solar plexus so I don't lead with my nose.

Danny - I read your book a while ago and now use your technique - lots to remember though. One thing I forgot was to pick up my feet from the knee to make the circular motion you discuss in another video. At first I thought this is going to take lots of effort - it didn't and my run went like an absolute bloody dream - literally at one stage I felt like I was gliding over the surface of the road.
Thank you so much for Chi running because it works :)

Thanks Mr. Dreyer. Although it was mentally and physically very difficult to concentrate on your posture techniques after years of slouching, I concentrated on it for most of a long 22 mile run. The result was the fastest time in a year. I highly recommend runners to try this, especially those over 40.

@methatgirl1234 Hey there- sorry we somehow missed your message! Honestly, this just takes time and practice. You need to be conscious of when you're slouching and leaning on one hip and then fix it and even out the pressure on both feet and level your pelvis. Leaning on one hip will eventually cause you to have hip pain as you age. Definitely something you want to stop doing soon! Hope this helps!

@methatgirl1234 Hey there! The way to avoid this is to strengthen those lower abs. Leveling your pelvis helps to strengthen those muscles , and any ab workouts. You should feel as though you're putting on a tight pair of jeans, those are the muscles that you want engaged. Check out the book for more information on leveling your pelvis -- this will be your answer as far as slouching on one hip. Good luck!

My biggest problem is standing leaning on one hip slouching...how do I avoid this?

  • @guilhermesmonteiro7344

It's good, however there are many things involved with good posture such as, balanced dental occlusion. If you don't have balanced occlusion, you never gonna keep a good posture.
