I know its a bit long but some people requested that I upload this anyway.

As stated in the video no one is perfect. In the video Leffen shows what happens when what he does doesn't work. It's good and unorthodox, however things like retreating Fairs would help a lot.
Some of PPMD's punishes are better but yes edge guarding is completely m2k

It's really interesting to see PP focussing so hard on neutral game when a lot of the other top players are very punish game focussed, nice insight
This is why PP is the greatest. You can't punish if you are always losing neutral.
only problem is you cant win in neutral forever, and one punish is all some players need to win a stock

I got into watching the competitive scene of Melee/ Sm4sh in mid 2015 and I've seen a ton of vids on Mang0, Hbox, M2k, Armada & Leffen but I'm still trying to see what PPMD's all about and I hope he comes back to playing
just watch footage from apex 2014 and 2015
Make sure you check out SKTAR 3 and Apex 2014 as well, though. He did a lot better at those 2 tournaments than he did at apex 2015 (mango said this once and I agree)
if you want to get a real look at PPMD, stay away from everything in 2016 and just look at videos from Apex 2015 and prior

Really great analysis of what makes pp so good. Also this is moreso an editing critique rather than the actual video, but the outro music on the endslate is hella loud compared to the audio in the rest of the video. Might wanna turn it down a little bit in the future.

PPMD is "Don't get hit" come alive before our eyes.
PP was this good without having the best ability to shield drop and sdi like leffen mentioned, if PP implements those elements I cant imagine how much better he will get. PP with marth pivots can also be very deadly.
PPMD in 2017 is what Melee needs. That would be so fucking hype if he started placing in tournaments again.

I feel like the difference between ppmd and the other gods is that the other gods visibly overwhelm and outplay everyone. ppmd just beats you. like when you watch the other gods you can tell it's them. for ppmd it's like you're watching a normal player, but everytime he plays someone he knows how to beat them. you can see his speed techs and stuff, but it just feels different when watching ppmd. you watch it and he just always wins.
collin beer I'd be tempted to say the opposite. PPMD at his best completely outplays you in neutral - it doesn't matter how good your punish game is if his neutral is so perfect that you're never in a position to land a hit. The other gods (+ Leffen) with the exception of maybe Mango are much more punish heavy and capitalize to the fullest off every mistake. PPMD is less flashy combos and more movement and prediction. It's a really unique playstyle, especially at this level of play.
Leffen used to annoy me but now I really enjoy the way he talks and his attitude. I would lovingly call it Kanye-like.

As far as confidence his is similar to kanye, but what he says makes far more sense. Leffen just speaks the truth, kanye likes to be sensational for the sake of being sensational.
I mostly just mean from a confidence standpoint, and for the fact that they both do what they do and say what they say for the betterment of their respective genres of entertainment

Two years passed and competitive discovered a new protagonist, a Sheik main named Plup. And although his gimp skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to take a set.

Does anyone know how to land on the platforms so quickly - like without having much time actually being in the air when jumping. PPMD just lands on them so fast... I've been trying to find out for a while now. Like at 14:51

I was looking at frame data and saw that Mewtwo's Nair autocancels earliest on frame 5 and comes out as early as frame 5. Does that mean he can auto cancel his Nair with a hit box active?
If it is, then the hitbox is probably only active for 1 frame when you autocancel is.

What's a shallow Marth down tilt?
A normal dtilt is aimed where the opponent is. A deep dtilt is aimed past the opponent, predicting they will dash away. A shallow dtilt aims ahead of the opponent, predicting they will dash at you.

R3loD _NiNjAx pp said during his interview with tafo that he's still undecided on whether or not he'll play or not. His condition is improving, but I kinda doubt that he will be able to play, especially on a decent level.

The Law i know he's coming back, it's a matter of when. I am doubtful he'll play at genesis, but I think he will be back to top level in due time.
