    About this video:
    See how we setup our brand new 2021 KTM 500 EXC-F for enduro riding. We armor the heck out of the bike so it can withstand some abuse and dive into a few less common mods like fork tie-down hooks and a light bar! We show you how we install everything and how much it all costs so you can chose what works for you.
    Parts list:
    P3 Carbon (front disc guard, pipe guard, frame sliders)
    Enduro Engineering extreme aluminum skid plate
    Bullet Proof Designs shark fin, radiator guards, and threaded bar ends
    ODI lock on Rogue grips
    MotoZ Tractionator tires + Tubliss
    Motion Pro fork air bleeders
    Cycra HCM bar guards
    Delany Drive Components sprockets (13/52)

    Bike looks 🔥. Look into the Acerbis black tank and seat concepts seat. Both those mods will make the bike pop even more.

      Nice, I def will. I'm planning for a tank, bit it'll be a stand alone project. Bike got pretty pricy as is, lol.

    Bike is looking awesome! Just needs a BE sticker! Wish I'd known you were gonna run a EE skid plate, I would have given you mine.

      No worries on the plate. I tried a couple things before deciding. I'm just too hard on my bikes, lol

      Badass! We will. Actually thinking I'll dive deeper into the exhaust ECU setup than I originally planned cause I got some new info to work with.

    Were you able to run that sprocket setup with the stock chain? I'm buying this bike next month and would like to run pretty low gearing but didn't really want to buy a longer chain right away. Thanks

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety +1

      Yup, I had to flip the adjuster washers (the ones that go on the axle) around so that the extension faces backwards and the adjust screw presses against what used to be the back of the washer. That way I could move the wheel a little further forward while still having lots of adjustment in both directions to get the chain where I like it. Otherwise it was no problem.

  • @barnhart4486
    @barnhart4486 Před 3 lety +2

    As a safety precaution you should get the Dirt Tricks front sprocket Dome Washer.

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety

      I thought about that actually, it's a good idea. But this one seems to be holding. I'll take another look at it and see if it warrants swapping out. I did locktite the bolt...

    • @barnhart4486
      @barnhart4486 Před 3 lety +1

      @@ExtremeSportsWannaBes from everything I've seen, it's more the washer losing its springyness more so than the bolt backing out. I know Taco Moto does it on all of his builds that are going to be either ridden hard or long distances. Just one less potential point of failure I guess. 👍 Love the build

  • @NikMeyerz
    @NikMeyerz Před 3 lety +1

    Looking great! I’m hoping to get my 500 this week! Already have the acerbis guards ordered up so your saying there isn’t enough clearance to run both the case guards and the p3 skid plate?

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety

      I didn't directly try, but I really doubt it. The P3 plate sits really close to the engine sides.

    • @NikMeyerz
      @NikMeyerz Před 3 lety +1

      That’s a bummer I love the orange weave look but really like the idea of doubling up protection.

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety

      Dude, totally hear you. The P3 plate looks dope! But, yeah, I needed the protection of a metal plate and I needed side covers. I punched the shift lever through the ignition cover week two, before I had the Acerbis on.

    • @NikMeyerz
      @NikMeyerz Před 3 lety +1

      Haha yikes good to know I may have to go the same route I’m not hard on bikes just not skilled enough to not fall constantly. Either way I’d rather be more protected than less and replacing a worn part in the garage rather than ruining a ride/weekend on the trail

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety +1

      Actually direct from Acerbis. I discovered that they're like the only large parts manufacture with a decent e-commerce setup. www.acerbisusa.com/c105588-x-power-kit

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety

      We'll be doing a much deeper look at the pipe and ECU soon to see what works best. It's delayed by the chip shortage unfortunately. The reeds probably aren't in your way.

      @@ExtremeSportsWannaBes great, ill check that video for sure but like I said on the official FMF website, the 4.1 stops at 2019 for the 500EXCF. I was just wondering wich part number you ordered for it to fit !

    Try AXP skidplates. Made from ultra beefy plastic. Soooo much better than carbon fiber or metal IMO

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety

      I looked into them. Better is subjective. I want some frame support which you don't get from anything short of metal unfortunately.

      @@ExtremeSportsWannaBes Some frame what?

    • @ExtremeSportsWannaBes
      @ExtremeSportsWannaBes  Před 3 lety

      @@EmileModesitt typo, should have said "frame support". Meaning additional strength for the frame bars (keep them from bending or crushing over time)

    • @EmileModesitt
      @EmileModesitt Před 3 lety

      @@ExtremeSportsWannaBes If you get your hands on one of those heavy duty plastic skid plates (or just talk to other people who own them) I don't think you'd be worried about the frame bending or getting crushed. I actually don't think it would be possible to damage the frame like that with a good quality one (obviously you could totally damage the frame with the old school thin plastic ones). These new style ones are waayy too thick for anything like that to happen. In fact, I think it would be more likely to happen with a metal skidplate as metal skidplates are thinner and rigid, meaning they don't absorb and disperse impacts as well. And I agree, "better" is subjective; that's why I wrote "in my opinion" in my original comment :)
