It is honestly hard to do a remake when you have so much to live up to granted I always thought Vince Vaughn was kind of cute in a weird sort of way but Anthony Perkins was Norman Bates he nailed it
She interrupted Norman when he was being Mum...😂😂
Anne Heche, R.I.P.
1. Anthony Perkins (obviously)
2. Freddie Highmore
my ranks of Norman Bates
Highmore did a great job! His show was so underrated! Vera Farmiga also killed it as Norma, i miss that show
Vince Vaughn wasn't convincing as Norman Bates. Norman is supposed to be very socially awkward and nervous. Anthony Perkins filled that role perfectly.
This is total joke and a huge disrespect to Hitchcock
I disagree i thought he was very awkward
Anthony Perkins was Norman Bates
Agreed
@@brianwilliam5034 dude,he said that
3:50 That line wasn't in the original movie.
He talks like a creep.
@@Javier23gol So does Anthony Perkins.
R.I.P. Anne Heche
3:43, I don’t know why but for a moment, I thought that Vince Vaughn was speaking with Tom Hanks ´s voice
Poor Anne heche critical 🚗 accident
Anne has now passed away.😢
@@sherylsimmons8111 sad her life story from her childhood to her Death 😢
RIP
You got to love how they just cut out the rain sound effects without any establishing visual like them closing the door. It’s so bad
Imagine thinking that this remake was a good idea
It was!
0:44 so ridiculous! She had used an umbrella by protecting from the Sun rays when she arrived to the second hand car dealerships, and now it is raining and she didn't open it by coming out the car 😂
She did not need to use it since she was coming out of the passenger side which was parked right next to the building which had a roof blocking the rain.
You have something that most girls don't have
i have?
There's not a name for it, but it's something that puts a person at ease
thank you again
he didn't say that on original
@@youtuber5669 it's in the original screenplay, but the line was cut from the 1960 version for some reason.
What is this monstrosity!? Is that supposed to be Norman bates?! I’m crying😂
Lmao🤣
You're right. This one is better.

RIP Anne. 🙏🏽
Господи я вчера только узнала😢вечная память ей..
This is an interesting film. Whatever the reason is for someone to discover one day. I think Anne does a great job.
Wow, Vaughn is unambiguously terrible in this.
One of the worst performances in any movie I've ever seen
I want to watch this movie.
Epic fail for Vince Vaughn to be scary or socially awkward or anything that makes Norman Bates who he is, can’t believe this performance happened or this remake happened, Hitchcock would roll in his grave and be ashamed of this garbage
His daughter Patricia says otherwise
@@RosieHip24 what did she say ?
@@myahollandia3552 She said her father would have been flattered by the remake.
As bad as this movie is it’s honestly impressive that Gus Van Sant did this movie shot for shot
wonder what made them wanna choose Vince vaughn to play Norman
Because at this time, he wasn’t that popular and he didn’t even make any comedy at this period.
Um, this Bates Motel is NOT creepier!
Хорошенький такой и вот так жалко..
Anyone else notice that Michael Scott had registered as a guest? All you need is Will Ferrell to come running out of the house yelling “We’re going streaking” and the ensemble would be complete.
Damn you weren’t kidding lol
Cast Will Ferrell and youll get MOM THE MEATLOAF WE WANT IT NOW. What is she doing. I never know what she's doing back there
Marion Crane's life just took a turn for the worse.
There was a Norman bates in this movie?
I mean it is a remake of psycho
Obviously
Correction: Marion Checks In the worst version of Psycho
norman bates
I’m have en that too 🍿🎧🎸🎸🎶
So I’m watching the movie for the first time and I’m like I wonder who going be Norman and when I saw who he was I just know he was going be um because I always see him in comedy movies y’all so far I didn’t pay attention to the movie I was on my phone I’m sorry I can’t take him dressing up as his mother serious I’m laughing and the music is way off it’s feels like you have something playing on in the background and you forget to turn it off
Rs.400,000
wonder why they changed the house
It is said in the behind of scene, they only add/put another set in front of the original, the old victorian house, probably to put some updates. Or the original house is seems too old for 98’
This is crazy why they did that.
Wow. This is really bad.
The loud downpour sound stops at around 2:02. Weird. It's as if a third unseen character closed the door quietly.
Vaughn is just not right. Giggles nerouvsly too much, and unconvincingly at that. This whole remake was the worst cinematic idea in the 1990s.
Ok this version sucked in comparison to the original Hitchcock 1960s version, Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates was incredible, but in this version as Marion looks up at the house and you see mother walk past the window with that faint sound in the background… it gives me chills.
The whole movie gives me chills for being so terrible
1:56 was a stupid laugh
In my point of view, actor Vince is cute-handsome rather than scary, Anthony P. So, watching this remake is quite a warm, less-scary than its original. I don't know why they chose Vince as N. Bates
For me, it’s the opposite. Perkins was cute handsome so that we couldn’t imagine that he was dangerous while Vince Vaughn was more disturbed making us immediately figure out that something is wrong with him
@@teencritik5512 😮
Vince was creepy but pretty cute at the same time haha
They should've casted someone more young and boyish to be Norman, Vince Vaughn is good but he looks way too old.
He was 28 here. Same age as Anthony Perkins was in the original movie.
I don't care for Vince in this. Tries too hard with the little chuckles.
What about govt benefits monies
The acting is so bad, it's like they're reading from a script at gunpoint with the least effort possible while wanting it to end asap
I think Jonny Depp or Christopher Imperioli from the sopranos would of made a better Norman Bates.
this movie sucked 0/10 wouldnt recommend . i love all the anthony perkins films though
It's so pretentious, it's difficult to watch. The director trying so hard to make the design of this movie his own while thinking a whole new generation is ready to make this a big hit.
oh come on please don't blame or make fun of vince's performance he did his best and it hards to live up to expectations of groundbreaking works or predecessors and the film came out years ago. please don't rag on him. he was doing his job as an actor at the end of the day.
J😊adore😊
Why make this film when anybody can watch the original? Such a terrible waste of money.
Asking a girl to come over to have sandwiches & milk 🥛 is crazy
Sandwiches and milk are pretty good though!
I think Anne Heche is the worst actor in this film. lol 😂 It is pretty lame. B film rate. Do love the shot for shot color remake though lol 😂
This movie was awful
