Bro, MANN says in their tutorial that the filters should have the arrows directed the other way around, towards the front of the car, NOT towards the passengers. czcams.com/video/0OkPsT3nYmE/video.html
Thank you for the comment. I will investigate further to make sure I am providing the correct information.
Is there any follow up on this which direction the arrows should be pointing to? Thx
Yes my apologies for taking so long t reply. I actually took apart an entire AC box for another job I was doing and was able to 100% verify that I had the direction wrong. Please face the arrows towards the engine side for correct airflow.
Other BMW models require towards the cabin but not this one. My apologies and thank you @maddogg1872 for letting us know!
That’s seems wrong for both of you all my research says the arrows have to be facing each other.
@@terryfonz4603 , im not having an opinion, im citing offical MANN source
Great video , not many diy videos on these 7’s
As I get my hands on the cars I’m uploading as many videos as possible.
Hi can you do a video on Air Mass Sensor change on BMW G12 -7 Series please
I pulled my factory filters and the arrows were facing toward the engine, the opposite of what you said. Now i’m confused. Mine is a 2021 740
Yes I made a mistake in the video. Keep the arrows pointing toward the engine side.

towards the engine the arrows
bought a used g11 2016 same as one in this video, been at it for an hour now trying to get the stupid plastic cover back on the left side is not going in im about to give up gonna try it again in a hour im a sweaty mess, never had any trouble had a number of various european cars over the years
That corner piece is hard. You need to angle that in first before trying to get the other side in.
@@friendlymechanic9778 finally got it in place! used a rubber mallet slighty tapped it then it finally went in the slot! thanks for your video! i have to return the ones i bought from parts store as they were too big to fit and buy the correct ones. it appears these cabin filters in the car are originals with 60,000 miles very dirty cleaned them up blasted air put them back in, the arrows were facing away when i pulled them out, installed them back arrows facing towards the engine.
Wow whos dirty ass filter is that? Gld they had a friendly mechanic to change it.
I’m glad as well!
Common Maintenance such as filters go unchanged well beyond their service life. Some filters are expensive to have someone change them for you so I am hoping to give everyone confidence to replace their filters just like the pros.
Common service life is about 2 years but it’s a good idea to check them every so often.
That’s such valuable advice, i will tell my friend who owns a 7s to get back to basics and do the maintenance.
