- Bob had some of the red collection out, and we wanted to cover SOME of the ways to "extend" the useful life of these prettier than their Orange Cousin's saws.

Just bought a beautiful 670 champ.
Great info!
Love the humour too!
Bob cracked me up with the saw that’s a 97 that lives in his ex’s walk in closet! And “we’re not going to run it, you’re only a virgin once!” 😉👍😂
I really love how those 630/670s look....so nice
Love it ! The knowledge and information that pours out of you and Bob is invaluable. Thank you Walt
Great video guys, love when Bob pulls the saws out on the porch. Keep the Johnny red's rockn!!
Thanks boys, I am about to rebuild my old 630 next weekend. Perfect timing !
Nice. I had a 630 come across my bench this year. Ran great.
I love this videos. Very informative! I'd love to see Spike's whole saw collection
It wouldn't fit on the deck. LOL But I'll keep bringing them out now and then.
Very nice saws I see there!!!💪💪💪
Much needed video thanks old timerz!
Man, that idle at the end sounded good!
Bob!!!!😲😲😲 my man good.😆 to see ypu👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏about time 😆😉
hi Mr Walt and Mr Bob!!!!
Perfect video been looking at a625, and a 670 and my buddy has the big 930 on his bench
Great info, I have a solid running 625 so this will help a lot when it starts needing attention.
Great video
In case folk are not aware - Tillotson Carb parts can be sourced directly from the company in Ireland: tillotson.ie/products/lawn-garden/
Thanks
Cheers.👍 Walt 😆👍👍👌
Thanks for this information gold! Any thoughts for an alternate ignition for a Jonsered 52E? I have been looking for a points setup with flywheel but can find one. Darn SEM saws ( I have 910 and 52E).
Bob, Walt sure has a long way to drive to get to your house. That is a long way from Cartland to Kingston. I will bet it was a pretty drive sans the snow and sleet. At least, he had sun when he got to your house you better be glad your glasses are not from the VA, otherwise you would have had your nose on the side of the saw to read the model😀.
Yeah, we're 3 hours apart John. I called Walt when he was on his way down and he mentioned the rotten weather he was driving in. I was driving with my sunglasses on; not a cloud in the sky. It's actually unusual for the weather to be that different between his place and mine.
@@spike6020 bob, you boys better buckle up it looks like you are going to get a ton of snow this week. Hope you both have a Merry Christmas.
excellent.... gidday from New Zealand 2x 670s 1x 266xp

how much performance do you lose sticking with a small 61/625 carb vs. going to the 268/272 carb?
you'd have to be a machinist, but I wonder about drilling and tapping a 272 cyl for an external impulse line to pulse the Jred carb.
Gents, I have a 670 Champ that my dad bought in the 90's. It still runs but it leaks fuel and chain oil. I don't trust anyone local (Texas) so if you could recommend someone that could help me unleash the power in my Champ, that would be great. I'd like to use it as a chainsaw mill saw. I'll ship it to anyone in the US that will do the job well.
🤠✌️
Full of knowledge! Do you guys hire out on zoom by the half or full hour?
nope, but thanks for asking
Does a husky 272 cylinder fit on my jonsered 625 II with no issues except for the carburator intake and the puls channel?
Hello I love the red saws I own 2 520SP’s and a 670 Champ , what about brake handles for the 670 very hard to find any ideas. PS love your channel
None of that stuff is available Mike. Neither the handle itself nor the entire assembly.
I've got a 630 Super and the carb is driving me crazy - I've cleaned and rebuilt it a couple of times and it won't run. Any leads on a replacement carb? Are Husqies or Poulans compatible? I see Chinese replacements, but the linkages are different; are they easily adaptable? Thanks.
How do you assemble a chain brake on a 625?
Morning great videos really good stuff any thoughts on where to get Jonsered 70e chain adjuster bolt And a oil cap
short of buying a
Saw on eBay that’s mostly complete I’m not finding much
any crosses to Huskey for the 70 or was that to early thanks tom
No idea, I eBay most of that stuff, just have to be patient
Hey walt, could you clarify a little bit on the piston specs? I have an early 268 I believe non XP with OEM Gilardoni Cylinder. The piston that was in it was a full skirt piston, I put in a windowed piston with an open skirt, is that alright to do? The saw has great compression with a base gasket delete and pop up piston but it only likes to run on choke, I tried to replace the crank seals myself however I think that may be my issue.
The "open" port cylinder really runs best with the skirted piston designed for it. The skirt of that piston is the other half of the transfer port if you think about it. Conversely the "closed" port cylinder needs that windowed piston as the skit will restrict the flow into the lower transfer section. So to keep it simple use the piston that was designed for he cylinder configuration for best results.
@@afleetcommand Thanks walt, I'll go back in and see what I see. Thank you so much for these two new video's, I'm also trying to get a 70E going, runs but erratic Idle.. even with new carb kit. I have crank seals, I'll probably go to a shop and try to watch them put em in for me.
Where would you send me for a 625ii brake band? Love the channel, love my Jonsered and Husky 257.
Camp out on eBay I'm afraid.
@@afleetcommand Will do. Thanks for the videos bud, really love watching them. You guys helped me get into my older Swedish saws and love'em.
They make aftermarket jugs for jonsered an ive seen meteor jugs but stupid expensive
Brother eu tiro chapéu
So a non windowed piston is no good in closed port jug. But what about putting a windowed piston in an open port jug? Would that boost performance ?
No, you will lose considerably transfer port velocity and it will not run well.
Evan is correct. With both pistons still available, both OEM and aftermarket, it's best to use the correct one.
Thanks! Saved me trying it for myself. I have a 61 open port and a P500 (Pioneer/Partner). 👍✌
I got a jonsered 625 and the trigger handle broke.. wud a husky 61 gas tank work in place??
