I don’t think the rivalries today are as good as they were in this era but Iga Swiatek has many qualities that remind me of Steffi, especially her athleticism and exceptional footwork.

I definitely like her committment to every single tournament she plays, modesty and that she knows very well she is a tennis player, not a fashion model or an influencer who considers herself more important than she really is. I do like the ones you make that you see the score at the end of games etc after a point every so often so one can kind of build up the anticipation b/c granted we can just do google searches and see the scores I guess, most wont do that so it's like watching these matches for the first time LOL. I was like "OMG who is gonna win?!" Then Arantxa came out on top in Hamburg, Steffi's home turf. That must have been a big deal for Arantxa! The gets she was making was incredible. Arantxa was Rafa before Rafa was! Granted without the physical gifts Rafa had but her speed and never say die attitude and heart of a lion was there prior to Rafa lol.

Despite Arentha Sanchez Vacario head to head record against Graf is poor 23-7 in Graf favour their matches were always competitive. 1994 was a great year for Sanchez Vacario she won 8 titles including the French Open & US Open and got to number one in the world. She was definitely at her peak that year.
Interesting that even at her pick, Arantxa was one of the most boring players to watch. It's all about returning the ball over and over again, no inicitative, no attack, large safety of the shots, no strategy beyond making the other player to loose. It's like, if Arantxa was playing Arantxa, every point would last 30 minutes, until one of them just missed a shot by herself. :D
