  • DIY activated charcoal for skin care! 🔥
This one was a lot of fun to make! Please do it carefully, kids kindly do it with adult supervision. Best to do it outdoors and keep a bucket of water handy just to be safe! ✅
    Activated charcoal
⭐️ Great to suck out impurities
    ⭐️ Absorbs moisture
    ⭐️ Removes bad odour
    ⚠️Stains clothes
⚠️It can make your skin dry. So use it occasionally.
✅It’s also great to absorb humidity, so you can keep it in a cloth bag in your wardrobe, cars or even in food items instead of using silica. Just ensure that packing is spill proof.
    🔥Activated charcoal🔥
👉🏻 Burn coconut shells (without husk) until it turns black into charcoal
👉🏻 Once it cools, make it into small pieces and add enough lemon juice to cover it. Let this sit for a day
👉🏻Strain it and wash to remove the lemon, sundry it and blend it
👉🏻Same process for wood, will soon share a reel on how to make it with rice husk.
    👉🏻
    🔥Face mask🔥
    👉🏻 1/2 tsp charcoal powder
    👉🏻 1tbsp corn flour
    👉🏻 1 tbsp aloevera
    👉🏻 1/2 tbsp honey
    🔥Body scrub🔥
    👉🏻1/2 tsp charcoal powder
    👉🏻1/4 tsp soap nut powder
    👉🏻1/4 oats powder

Actually, "To produce activated charcoal, common charcoal is heated to about 900 °C (1,700 °F) in the presence of an inert gas (usually argon or nitrogen), causing the charcoal to develop many internal spaces, or "pores", which help the activated charcoal to trap chemicals. Impurities on the surface of the charcoal are also removed during this process, greatly increasing its adsorption capacity."

@@Beluga460 Ok so it’s been a over a month now and I drink one or two teaspoon charcoal with warm water every three days first thing in the morning and after two weeks I realized eczema I’ve had for 15 plus years (always buying pharmaceuticals cream every two months) just disappeared after two weeks. I’m eczema free. I have pretty crooked teeth so I need the help of a dentist to still clean it once a year but I realize it cleans teeth just as good as toothpaste. It takes some getting used to since it’s different from toothpaste, so I floss then brush but whitening I have to go to the dentist to check it my teeth is stained cuz there are some parts of my teeth that’s aren’t getting the charcoal love but in all I still highly recommend it. When I’m going out I take a pack of gum with me but that’s just cuz of my teeth condition, being extra safe. If you have good teeth I doubt you’ll need the extra stuff. I’m never going back to toothpaste ever. For my face I realized it’s making me darker and I’m already dark so I need personal research on that, but honestly I haven’t been consistent with the face so I don’t know if it’s the charcoal or my inconsistency.
Do I recommend? Yes. Should you try it? Yes!!! See what works for you.
I remember my dad had a stoke and was developing a kidney or liver problem can’t really remember but he was prescribed powdered charcoal lime and water everyday by a herbal doctor… he didn’t take it lol. At that time we knew nothing about this.

To make charcoal you need to have the material in a closed environment exposed to the heat indirectly, e.g. a sealed paint can full of coconut husk with a tiny hole in the lid put on a campfire.
You'd also need a stronger acid, and then you have to take a few more steps..

Coal could be the best material to make activated carbon. Either way coal or charcoal, both are carbon in a graphite form. But unlike charcoal coal has a more porous structure so it produces a very fine powder easily. Chrchol is also an excellent activated carbon source. The basic point in making activated carbon is you shouldn't allow oxygen to enter. By burning you remove any oxygine or water from the graphite. The lemon in this case will reduce the carbon even more. It is fun trying it but don't do it in open air and make sure you don't inhale the poisonous carbon monoxide in any way.

Are you scientist or researcher...I have never heard charcoal can be created like this...by adding lemon

This is not at all activated charcoal it is just charcoal
Activated charcoal is charcoal with millions of microscopic pores, which is made by removing vascular material through superhot steam that is real activated charcoal with real properties

The activation process for creating activated charcoal often involves the use of strong chemicals or physical processes. The most common methods include:
Chemical Activation: Typically, chemicals such as zinc chloride (ZnCl₂), potassium hydroxide (KOH), or phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄) are used. These chemicals interact with the carbon compound and help create a porous structure by eroding away some of the material.
Physical Activation: This involves two steps, where the first is to pyrolyze the carbon compound at high temperatures, followed by a second process where the charcoal is exposed to oxidizing gases, such as steam or carbon dioxide at high temperatures. This helps to open up and create a porous structure in the charcoal.
Regarding the use of lemon juice in CZcams videos, it's important to understand that lemon juice is not an effective activation chemical compared to the aforementioned methods. Lemon juice is acidic (due to citric acid) and can react with certain metals or minerals, but its ability to create a porous structure in the charcoal is limited. It's possible that some use lemon juice as an environmentally friendly alternative to clean or modify the surface of charcoal, but this would not result in the same type of activated charcoal as produced through industrial processes.

acid reacts with carbons and it then make lots of pores in it.
these pores traps dirt particles when applied to face or used.

Citric acid cleans it up, stripping calcium buildup and other foreign particles from the surfaces of the carbon skeleton so that more carbon is exposed to collect and trap more foreign particles. Just like when you use citric acid to clean your dishwasher, tea kettle or coffeemaker of all the gunk and calcium deposits. It's not as effective as super high temperatures that turn it all to ash but it's good enough for home use.
