It's great to see how the concept is similar with our own methods. I'm a Filipino and when I was young my uncle would take me to the mountains to burn a huge pile of wood in a pit, then we cover them with banana leaves and soil and wait for a few hours to dig up the charcoal. We used to sell them by the sack and was good profit. Cheers from the PH pitboys, stay healthy.
sounds like a Hawaiian luau minus the pig
Thats awesome. Thanks for sharing
Parehos tayu pre😁
a great experience yes my father used to bring me to the mountains and show me how to make charcoals too.
Part Pinoy here😁👍🏻
Short, barely any time wasted, it answered all my questions without going to the comments. 10 out of 10. Subscribed.
Cheaper. Absolutely better quality. Definitely more fun. Good job. Thanks guys. Side note: Henry Ford was an avid camper/outdoors man. Ford used wood in auto construction so he built a sawmill. Not one to be wasteful he pondered on what to do with all the scrap wood from his sawmill. The sawmill operations were managed by his cousins husband. Edward Kingsford. You know the rest.
I can't believe it. 10 years of content and this is the first time I've seen you guys, I got some catching up to do! Thanks a lot, CZcams...
Welcome to the Pit!
@@bbqpitboys you guys from Canada?
This is my first time seeing them now I need to make me some charcoal
This guy's never disappoint time to start saving money
@@Pitman-Grills can we get a video from you on how you brew beer? would be awesome to see
I watch hundreds and hundreds of cooking videos on CZcams, but these guys were the first that I ever watched. I literally never even thought of going to CZcams to learn how to cook anything until I watched one of their videos back in 2014. These guys started it all for me and even though I don't really do that much with barbecue and outdoor cooking lately I still owe it to them for turning me on to the Fantastic world of culinary videos on CZcams. By the way if I'm not mistaken the saw is an MS361, one of Stihl's finest.
Thanks for your support Jim
My first too
i started looking up how to filter water. learned boiling isn't always good and you might wanna make a filter.

Always nice to see fellow Canadians contributing to this awesome channel. Cheers 🍻

Best channel on the ‘tube! Way to go, Fellas! 🍺
Thank you gentlemen! You bring a smile to my face every time!
I like your straight talk, "don't be an idiot" SIMPLE !
Nice method. I cook on my smoker more than I do on my stove. I will definitely try this. And the beer makes it so much better! 👍
Gday from Australia 🇦🇺 love your work!! Another fantastic video out boys! When ever I present a pit boy’s meal from my bbq to the family I’ve always got say
“ and in the miracle time, wa laa!”
I had my beer ready while watching this too
I cherish you guys
Thanks Boys! They have it down 👍. Nothing better than real hard wood lump!✌️👍
✔ I've done my research. Bbq pitboys teach me all I need to kkow.
This video is awesome, great quality.
Thank you very much for sharing this guys!
That’s some good learning, thank you sirs
I teared a little bit seeing that bacon grease used as a fire starter. That's what vegetable oil is for!
Veg oil is for vape pen and soy boy trucks.
@@historyhunter5215
It works good as a quench oil for my blacksmithing or to season the grill forks and steak turners I make.
Is this a fake account?
@@Webgobo most likely... But he is missed.
Gasoline and a roman candle is my favorite fire starter
I love you guys. Easy, simple and lovely...
This video speaks to me on sooooo many levels!
God Bless you guys, you can't explain any better than that
Love you, guys
Thank you for that idea. 👍👍👍
wow, that is EASY mode. I need to find a metal 30 gal drum. Thanks for sharing this method. Couldn't be simpler!
My son and I enjoyed watching your video, you are funny and sounds like a cool guy! You make the most natural charcoal yet!
Right on! Thanks, guys.
Thank yall!
This is awesome! 👍🏽
Awesome! Gotta try this
Damn if I'm waiting 6 hours it would cost me more in beer then it would just to buy some Lmfao..
@ lol yeah a few but if I gotta wait 6 hours well that's party mode and I'll drink too much..
@@caveman5831 he do b,q
Yeah 6 hours is 2 trips to the store 😂😂😂
1 beer every 10 minutes is a six pack per hour, multiply that times 6 hours equals a thirty six pack, give or take depending if shots are included in that time frame. Definitely manageable.
Tip. You do this while smoking a butt. You will be outside anyways.
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Mmmm can't wait to take a big ol bite hooooweeee that's that good crunch!
Thank you very much gentlemen. The gas and electricity prices are zoomin up here in Great Britain so I am looking for alternative ways to fuel our home for heat. Video is greatly appreciated thanks again

Hello from Canada!
I’ve been researching how to make my own charcoal for a few weeks now, and I’ve collected everything I need to do it except for a 6’ long piece of 5” or 6” pipe.
I’m going to weld the pipe in my 55 gallon drum and use the flow through method. The pipe goes all the way through the drum with a series of holes at the bottom of the pipe inside the barrel. You pack the barrel then put the top on and set the entire kiln on top of your burn chamber, I’m going to use a semi brake drum for that. Then when the pyrolysis starts it basically feeds itself. Can’t wait to make my first batch !
Thank you.
Thank you guys it's guud
This was the first video I've seen from you. I was just looking to learn the how and why for making your own charcoal and eventually Coke. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the narration. Absolutely top notch, I loved it. Keep up the great work
1 year later and I feel the exact same way.
Bon Scott would be proud of you blokes!👍💞✊
This is about being able to live as independently as one can in your circumstances. Get the full set of the "Foxfire Books" to learn all this sort of stuff. Love it, when TSHTF.
