Walter Boyd, Wynalda and Paulo Wanchope, Hernandez was at the time the best strikers in Concacaf and where skills are concern Walter was clearly better than all of them. The one simple difference was discipline that which Boyd was short on. If he was in anyway like the others with attitude he would probably play for United, Barca, Madrid or Milan back then. This man was gifted with both feet, took on defenders superbly and could dribble on any side. What manager wouldn`t want such talent in his team?
Blacka Pearl and Nandi Lowe di best foward combination we ever had and never got to exploit them together as much...alot had to do with dem attitude still
People need to stop supporting nonsense and tell the truth that jamaican society created and ended this man's career because of their acceptance of bad behavior in regular life and sport. BOYD was always treated like he was special and when that stopped he started throwing temper tantrums. People in Jamaica can take to the streets for you to play not in England or US. Ultimately his ego and self control got the best of him. Such a waste of talent.
When Renae Semose was trying to instil discipline in him Jamaica acted as if Semose was wrong. It doesn't matter what area you are from when you play overseas they expect discipline.
Humility. Let his story be a lesson to others. Him very skilled but have NO DISCIPLINE. Even an ounce of discipline... just an ounce would've got him way further.
Rory Banton - All of you talk about no discipline; you ever hear about man management? So of the best players in the world are referred to as indiscipline, all because managers and coaches fail to understand them. The first thing they see are the player's liabilities instead of his assets. If Walter had a coach who understood him and hence understand how to manage him, things would have been different both for him and for Jamaica.
Typical, discipline is everything Walter.....most of us just don't like getting directives or instructions. Want things all our way. If you had exercised the discipline and control you needed, you'd have had a fruitful career like your talents deserved
Talent without discipline is not enough for success. This guy was very indisciplined and too much of hot head. Nobody wants to invest in a hot head, no matter how good they are.
You played your part in messing up your career , you couldn't conform to the rules and regulations Blacka, so you paid the ultimate price , you were talented but indiscipline, which lead to you being poor , when you could be so rich , hurt my heart fi see such a talent go to waste ....
Played against him at the auditorium over Excelsior back in the early 2000's and trust me,him easily get upset if nuh ball nuh reach him...talented yuh frig but indiscipline bad
that`s because Yorke didn`t have a shoes. Walter Boyd was way better than Yorke and even Yorke knew that. Why do you think he used Yorke as an example of him been discouraged at Swansea? It`s because he knew he was better and was the talk of the Caribbean back then. If Boyd was just discipline just a little you wouldn`t hear the last of him.
Small Axe MP he was not a complete baller, Yark was. Left foot, right foot, header, passing, reading the game York have it all. He was only more skilful thats all
For Jamaica Boyd though he was a big fish in a small pond and at Swansea city a small fish in a big pond. If only he understand that the manager is the boss and you have to respect him, just ask Sir Alex Ferguson.
Not the best ever...overrated at best Arrogant too...he couldn't last a week in Spain, Italy, England...Not even in the J-League Cyaan walk near Richard "Potcover" McDonald nor the young McGee.
Best striker me ever see play for Jamaica, never afraid of any defender, big up yourself Walter Boyd.
Would try to get in any venue weather through the gate or over the wall to see him play
Craig McLean his biggest mistake is mixed ball with Badness the two don't go together
Best striker the nation will ever see

Reene Simone with his lack of man management skillz and his ego of being the coach
Blacka Pearl and Nandi Lowe di best foward combination we ever had and never got to exploit them together as much...alot had to do with dem attitude still
I remember when I was going mountain view primary school this man gave us a football thats the first time i saw him I will never forget
you can tell the ignorance has become more subtle with maturity.

king man Walter Boyd
Man dash Weh him talent because him caah hear, and also because Jamaica didn’t spend money on they guys.
Exçeptional talent in my opion he was more gifted than Yorke.
Dennìs Barnaby By far. 👍👍
you cannot seriously compare Walter Boyd to Dwight York ,Boyd was not good enough to clean York shoes.
that`s because Yorke didn`t have a shoes.

Neil Nelmar people are crazy, anyone that think he was close to Yark level dont watch enough football
