A number of factors. But mostly bad administration, which led to infrequent games and poor promotion of the games. If management and promotion of the game improves, I think the crowds will come back at least for t20. When CPL played regularly in Jamaica before the pandemic, the crowds were also good. I think that can be revived. Tests and ODI I'm not so sure.

Chris Gayle started playing from 1999 wi vs Canada 🇨🇦 in a odi game, and playing test cricket in 2000 against Pakistan 🇵🇰, ok.
He was playing since 2000s got fame only when started playing on flat pitches of Bangalore
Gayle being playing for the wi team since 1999 ODI cricket against Canada 🇨🇦 and, test cricket in 2000 against Pakistan 🇵🇰 scoring 33 runs in his 1st inning ran out.Anyway stop talking about Ridley Jacob batting abilities, he is very far from being a good batsman. I don't know how Ridley Jacob got played, he was very clumsy. Also was captain at one stage, he had a god father. Gayle was a master batsman, he is the only wi batsman to scored hundreds in all 3 formats .Also the only wi batsman in the history of cricket to scored double hundreds in odi, away from Brian Lara scoring 2 triple hundreds in test cricket and. That puts him way ahead of Viv Richard's, Greenidge, Haynes, Sobers, Khani, Butcher, you named it. He is better batsman than all put together, some people is going on like only Viv Richard's batting without helmet. All of the wi cricketers before helmet was interduced in the late 1970s, never batting in helmet. I never batting in any helmet during my days playing domestic cricket competition, so I don't really see the smaller islands people them is. So excited about Viv Richard's not batting in helmet, only because he wasn't facing any real good fast bowling as the wi 4 fast bowlers and. Sunil Gavakar batting against the wi 4 fast bowlers without helmet, I saw him played his 1st test at Sabina Park Kingston Jamaica 🇯🇲 in 1971.Anyway Gayle is a really ture legend of wi and world cricket, he sets a few records as the first batsman to scored hundreds in all formats of cricket, ok.

@@BlairBoyd-fs1xk Ridley Jacobs may not have been pleasing to the eyes as a batsman, but he was the leading wicket keeper batsman in the Caribbean at the time he got selected. Since Dujon retired the WI had tried David Williams, Junior Murray and Courtney Brown and none of those players made contributions with the bat as Jacobs did. He made his test debut at age 32 and played 65 tests and 147 ODI at such a late stage of his career which goes to show that he was much better with the bat than many wicketkeeper batsman in the region regardless of how clumsy he looked

Brian lara who carried the whole carebian tem alone upon his shoulders and as soon as lara out, the entire team collapsed like cards.
That was in the latter stages of the WI decline. When he just came into the team that wasn't the case as the WI had other world class players, so you have to be specific

Test was ultimate thing but T20 ruined everything or maybe the today's life isn't allowing us the happiness like before
Days when Bilateral and Triseries tournaments really mattered...there was such enthusiasm to watch. Nowadays no enthusiasm, it's like we know the results beforehand bcz only home team wins when it's same level oppositions and if it's a better visiting team then they will win.
