primary doesn't mean sole or full - she was awarded primary physical custody while sharing custody with her ex. I think she has more reason not to pay him spousal than the child support.

A few years? Didn’t her show just come about in the last year? She did snatch up those emmys tho. I don’t watch daytime TV anyway but Kelly did make the most sense. She was the only American idol season I watched cuz it was the first and that was at least 20 years ago. That girl can sang and she really is personable and relatable so I think this was the natural progression of her career.
@@mwright0428 Her show started September 2019. So it’s been two. Her third year/season is starting in mid September. But yes, people loved her personality on The Voice and I’m sure NBC saw potential, and it worked. NBC was not about to kill the hype of it.

The show immediately had high ratings and won a bunch of Emmys and it is why she’s taking Ellen’s time slot. And no, she shouldn’t have to pay anything to him.

I think it’s gross because he and his dad (her ex-manager) ripped her off in business dealings and her ex defended his dad and was allegedly a part of some of it. If it’s fair then great give it to him but not just bc usually men get screwed over so now screw a woman over. Should be fair on both sides every time.

In California, spousal and child support is calculated based on which spouse earns the most money. Even though she has physical custody of the kids, the court grants her husband child support because the kids are entitled to live the same lifestyle at their dad’s house as they live at Kelly’s house. He doesn’t earn as much as her, so the court orders her to pay him spousal & child support too.
