People need to learn the difference between "looking sexy" and "being sexualized." High School aged girls wearing slightly skimpy or sexy looking clothing aren't sexualized. Girls wear that sort of stuff all the time BECAUSE it looks sexy. Being "sexualized" implies something more like their boobs or ass hanging out of their clothing and them being drawn in very promiscuous poses. Drawing girls in swimsuits doesn't inherently "sexualize" them. It's kinda like the argument about school dress codes for girls. Girls like to wear sexy or slightly revealing clothes, but the schools think that its too "inappropriate."
TL;DR people on twitter are stupid and don't realize that high school girls who wear skimpy clothing actually exist.

All that's needed for anybody to know why toxicity would rise in a fandom is to do research into general world history, human culture, and social psychology (or just general psychology/neurology).

Well character design reflects the artists' intention and not real life. Uzaki is clearly designed with breasts in mind, the singular red bar on her shirt emphasises the breasts since its the warmest colour in the design, not to mention the meaning of the text.
Also, sometimes you gotta wonder why the author decided to use the 97.5th percentile of chest size...

And the thing with Fire Force, it's only Tamaki. Maki, Iris, Lisa, Hibana, Inca, etc don't get the level of fan service Tamaki gets. Tamaki gets stark naked in the middle of a fight. She loses her bra, stockings and so on, when none of that happens to literally any of the other female characters So when Tamaki gets naked, it feels even more out of place than usual fan service because she's the only one it happens to.
Think of it more as comedy though

Fire force gets pretty great in the later half of season 1 onwards, it's so weird and badass, nothing too deep but the way it uses fire abilities is really interesting, especially with the higher dimensional plane and stuff. Also season 2 has a really dope black character and the mystery behind how the world got like that is pretty good.
I was going to comment about HOTD and you guys brought it up right before I could finish. Glad someone brought it up.
i remember in old tv shows when they ever wanted to make a character look bad they always mention the person birthday matching with a killer/criminal and it always worked.
When I saw the "I fix it" thing on facebook for the first time and about uzaki-chan, I was like they be mad disrespecting the artist's artwork and being assholes, and "correcting" it when there's no such thing as correct or wrong in art itself

I follow Sakimichan. I favorite the safer stuff but...its just me. It's like, how I see it is that it's like walking into a bathhouse with a side gig of ladies. If you know where you are going and what you'll expect to see there. Then the only accountability you had to hold onto is to yourself. Don't blame its manager!

9:38 I saw a redesign of that gymnast character (not the redesign you were talking about ) that was pretty good but like the artist who did that was a Persona fan and based her design off of actual acrobatic/pro gymnast wear. The fixing art trend comes and goes and it's akways a mixed bag. Like I persnally have my own redesign for a character from an anime I like but it's kind of out a mix of love and frustration. The way I look at it is that it should be done out of love and be something that makes sense, never as just a trend or anything like that. Like I saw a Nessa redesign that was really good that basically put her in more suitable clothing for swimming and I've seen Hazbin Hotel redesigns that just took what the creator said about the characters being based off specific animals and then used that to make designs that just made their animal origins more obvious. But I also don't tend to follow artists that would do art fixes or redesigns as anything but a labour of love tbh

This is why I stay away from any fandom, I just watch the anime/read the manga, enjoy it and move on to the next and maybe talk about it to a few friends.

To be fair to Kill La Kill, everything is fanservice. You straight going to the deep end at the first episode. If you somehow stick around after the first 1 or 3 ep, you are not going out.

Her fan service is actually good, doesn't really focus too much on her and instead focuses on the comedic side to her.
It does not even go into so many fights like barely there is a major fight with her fanservice the only time that happened was with her and iris versus assault and it worked for her

She could have been a really interesting character but all she seems to do is strip every few episodes. All I was saying is that I don't remember it interrupting an actual fight, I remember it happening when things were calming down or at the end of a fight or something
Black Clover took me some convincing and a change in perspective honestly. I treated it as a slice of life show with action and plot inbetween instead of the usual. My co-worker swore that the fights were really over the top but great but did say it picks up by the time I was near ep 50. Also accepted it for what it is with endless flashbacks and power of friendship/hardship filled backstories for both heroes and villains. I started to enjoy it by then. Same I guess with Fire Force. Just accepted the fact that maybe the timing of fanservice wasn't always great but I don't really mind.

The only way a fandom isn't bad is if they aren't active online, or if the series they're fans of is over or hasn't broke into the mainstream.
Haikyuu and Vinland Saga. Literally have never encountered a classic bad fan in either of these fandoms, and even when there is everyone is quick to snuff them out and keep things peaceful and appropriate.

You know at points like this I'm sometimes glad that Youjo Senki isn't *that* popular. There's already enough people claiming Tanya is a Nazi or that the IP promotes War & nationalism (both of which are so wrong it hurts, and I have legitimately no clue how you can watch the show/read the Manga/LN and arrive at that conclusion), I don't even want to think about what would happen if certain Parts of twitter would become aware of it.
There was this one time where i came across a pretty weird argument.
There’s this fake screenshot of a Demon Slayer OC and it was rlly well drawn. The OC was a slayer who use “Breath of Night” (fan made breath).
But there was this one person who commented “how can someone breath night lmao” and there’s like 50+ replies. The fact is that the breathing and the effects in Demon Slayer were all for _aesthetics_
But this person was too stubborn to even accept it, they’re all “uhh that’s stupid, that’s _unrealistic_ st00pid” i was about to reply but then when i look at their bio.. it says that “i get too much shit bcs of all those ignorant people” at that point i just.. aight imma bail .
Funny enough the breath of love , breath of night or moon , breath of sound are canon breathing styles but you don't see people breathing love or sound🤷♀️

I'm so glad I'm not a part of any fandoms 100% anymore.
Like yeah, I watch anime every once in a while & I like to rewatch some series from the beginning if it's been a long time. But when it comes to talking with other fans of the same series I'm the biggest introvert fan now. I'll happily talk about a series if it's my hyperfixation / hyper focus of the month but if I'm not actually invested in what people are talking about I'm just gonna leave off to my happy corner to do my own thing. I've seen too many fucking ship wars & fandom wars in general to call myself a diehard fan of one particular series.

"So my b-day is canceled now?" I laughed in this part. Whatever good you do there will be always a sensitive and loser people who are going to hate you for little things. It's so funny because I watch most of the anime they've mentioned. I was so shocked too, as I saw yaoi fan arts of MHA where they are not really gay in the first place. I didn't like what they did to Horikoshi leave him alone those people are so hypocrites and also self entitled brat. This is one of the reasons why I don't go to twitter and I also stay away from the MHA fandom.

Honestly I feel as if I am gonna live longer, not being on twitter. Fandoms are amazing things which really helps people out of their shell but they are getting too rowdy on twitter
I think the whole thing with the doctor in mha was that his name is the problem (I think it was a victim in some human experiments with weapons) and wasn’t the birthday thing.
I think that many of the toxic controversies you're mentioned especially in the my hero academy and demon slayer are to an extent politically motivated by some progressives to regulate content.
The same way that Netflix are doing today a lot of super progressive shows.
It's just they are tying to push anime in that direction too. Actually funnimation changed the dub dialog to input some ideliogioc inputs that didn't exist in the original.
