- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by NHS surgeon Dr Junaid Sultan. After working in Britain for over 20 years, Dr Sultan made the agonising decision to help the sick and wounded in Gaza; despite being inundated with messages telling him not to go.
He describes the situation in Palestine as ‘absolutely heartbreaking’ and ‘total carnage’, speaking about a breakdown of basic food and medical supplies to Piers Morgan.
He challenges US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and even Piers himself to come and see what is happening at his hospital in Rafah, claiming the conflict between Israel and Hamas is the worst for health workers since the Second World War.

Lest anyone doubts this man’s sincerity. I accompanied Dr. Sultan in Gaza as an Anesthesiologist, we affectionately call him Juni bhai. He worked himself literally into the ground helping in Gaza. He stayed overnight at the hospital on the last night and continued working to the point where he fell unconscious, laid out on the OR floor from exhaustion, we revived him and had to fluid resuscitate him to get him back on his feet. He is an inspiration. May Allah accept his dedication to humanity and I pray for this human tragedy to end.

I’m just constantly outraged at the world that are turning away from the fact that medical professionals are being targeted, it’s reprehensible really!!!
I know that my colleagues are exhausted and mentally, physically and emotionally drained after a long shift and that is in an American hospital!!!!!
How on earth are these people who have taken an oath to save lives and who even my own patients that I interact with even briefly are desperate to get seen and hope to get seen by someone who is not drained. Believe me my own patients notice when I am dealing with multiple critical patients and then I see them.
I can’t even wrap my brain around this horrific situation that these medical professionals are working under.
I'll explain slowly so you can understand as fast as possible: Hamas is a terrorist organization. It doesn't obey the rules of war and committs human rights violations all the time. Hamas uses hospitals as bases because they're safe under international law because Israel is not a terrorist so it obeys the law. Therefore, some of the doctors in the hospitals are Hamas operatives. These doctors are terrorists.They're not attacked because they're doctors, they're attacked because they have a bloody rifle in their hands and they're breaking the intetnational law.
Now, I think I can safely assume 99% of the hospitals in America do not harbor mass murderers and terrorists, so I don't understand how you can compare your coworkers to monsters - and I hope now you can understand your mistake doing so. That being said, I do feel bad for the innocents caught in the crossfire, be they medical personnal or not.

You think you have heard it all about the situation in Gaza, but after Hearing Dr Sultan I do not know what I am going to wake up tomorrow believing anymore about the human community. All of my opinions on war have been changed in twenty minutes. Piers, you have been like a guide for me and I imagine many, many people have followed your courageous attempts to interview people from both sides of the Israeli/Hamas war, but nothing compares to this because Dr Sultan has shown us who are really suffering from this war: ordinary people who have nowhere to go, not enough food to eat, not enough medicine to take care of their wounds and even not enough water to drink. I honestly have lost my way as a human being, until today I thought I knew my mission in life, but this videocast and interview with a trauma surgeon makes everything I do from now on be under a huge cloud of shame to be from the human family.
This may surprise you, but this doctor's account isn't anything new. Being a war doctor is exactly like this in almost every modern war. It was like this in Afghanistan as well. As horrific as it is, don't let that cloud you from being able to zoom out and see the big picture. The palestinians to going to suffer infinitely more in the long term if Hamas isn't stopped.

I appreciate the fact Piers consistently brings on people that would typically never have a mainstream platform. This is significant. These voices need to be amplified if we are going to achieve understanding and peace. Most people still don’t realize how horrific and dystopian the situation in Gaza is.

The discussion in this war is absurd.
First. Israel acted selflessly to live in peace with the Palestinians in Gaza. It was more than a decade ago when Israel itself ordered Israeli citizens who had lived there for decades to literally leave their homes. The first thing the Palestinians did in return was to elect a government that enshrined the goal of destroying Israel in the constitution. The elected government followed through with its promise. Since its founding, thousands of rockets have flown into Israeli settlement areas. Dozens of civilians died in terrorist attacks. Millions of aid funds - intended for civilian institutions - were misused to sponsor this terrorism. October 7th was just what Humus had been doing for years.
Secondly. Israel behaved more humanely in this conflict than any other conceivable party in any imaginable conflict. It allowed Palestinians to work in Israel, receive medical care or even migrate to Israel. During war, they warn civilians where their military is operating. They admit collateral damage and apologize for it.
The situation is clear. In no other conflict the responsibility for the suffering has been so one sided and clear - in no other conflict have the perpetrators been held accountable so weakly. People with voice and power who claim to reject war and the nature of war have a duty to unequivocally name the culprit of this war and do everything in their power to eliminate them. Everything else is responsibility for the resulting suffering and is as history has proved continuing this madness.
