These are what I think are the 10 best Opeth solos, along with a couple honorable mentions. I do not own any of these materials. All rights belong to Opeth.
It seems strange to say, but I don’t think this band is a solos band. Not that their solos are bad or anything, they’re bloody fantastic, but the solos are song-serving above all and blend so well with the music that I often find them inseparable from the song. There are some crappy songs with great solos out there, and some bangers with weak solos, but Opeth doesn’t do that. The solos with this band range from tasteful melodic lead to bombastic shred, and you don’t even notice. They carry momentum perfectly, never outstay their welcome, and never come off as a distraction from the rest of the band. I couldn’t possibly rank all their solos, because I can’t divorce them from the songs. Opeth are fucking masterful.

Windowpane solo lead me to another dimension and also give me a lonely sensation, but not in the bad way, it's just one of the most beautiful guitars solos I've ever heard
Kind of biased towards Mikael(Which is not a bad thing at all), but Frederick's solos from ICV are pretty good, especially lovelorn crime. That definitely makes top 10 for me. Frankly most Opeth songs could make top 10 lol.
Solos shred? Solos an epic part of the song? I usually go with the latter first. So honestly one of my faves solos period, not just Opeth, is the end of Devil’s Orchard. So majestic.
Will 'o' the Wisp has the most beautiful and melodic solo that they've recorded, soundscape quality to it, how that cannot make this list is incredible.
Opeth solos aren’t about “shredding”, they brilliantly utilize voicing and phrasing to perfectly accentuate the song and carry the momentum already created. The solo from A Fair Judgement is one of my favorite solos of all time because of how it complements the rest of the song and helps create intense juxtaposition leading into the next part. I ❤️ Opeth
I couldn't choose the top 10, because you could pretty much throw any Deliverance/Ghost Reveries/Watershed solo on there, but I know Windowpane and Burden would be my top 2.
I love that Opeth have so many great solos that everyone in the comments is complaining about a different one not featuring. For me the leper affinity solo not being in there is pretty crazy, that has some of the tastiest licks ever.
Before I watch: Best solo is Burden. Now let's have a look. BTW: Burden has not only one great guitar solo, but one of the best keayboard solos of all time.
i dont like the solo in "the baying of hounds", when it enters it sounds off and kinda feels like they put it simply because there had to be some solo not because it was good

The Hours of Wealth outro is up there for me. One of my favorite Opeth songs and super underrated.
