I literally don't even care how accurate or well these potatoes will turn out when I try this. I am commenting and leaving a like because this video was less than one minute and we appreciate that!

Hi I’m some sick head and today I’m going to show you how to cook chips, 30 mins later. They are the worst!
✌🏻😄
Hello! English is not my 1st language so bear with me. So in case someone is like me and tried this recipe step by step but the fries were too burnt, here's what I made to make them perfect:
Instead of 25 minutes make it 20, and instead of 185° make it 180°. Also, try to shake/move the fries more than once, for example every 5 minutes. I advise also to sprinkle salt before cooking them as well so that the salt really gets "inside" the potato.
And for a better result try to cut the fries as thin as you can, so that they come out crispy and nicely :)
Thank you so much ❤
Thank you!!
You saved my fries! So glad I came across your comment beforehand
Thank you for this great advice. I’ll try it
Is 185° Fahrenheit or centigrade
Honestly it came out amazing… I did about 200 grams and was very thin.
I added salt when mixing with olive oil. And cooked it at 180 for about 13-15 minutes shaking every 4/5 minutes.
Came out delicious!
Sometimes I look for the detailed videos but there’s plenty of those around, sometimes I look for this type of video, and this was perfect. Thank you.
It has always been a struggle to air-fry fresh potatoes.. but this way actually works and it turned out SO yummy
thanks a lot!
Loved this video. So precise and short and didn't waste time. I'd come back to these kinds of videos in a heartbeat. 😊
Thank god this wasn’t one of those videos where people talk for so long before getting to the point I just got an air fryer and have never made fries at home before thank you for this quick easy video!
Love these thanks for going straight to the point 🫶🫶

Is it fine with vegetable oil?????
It's 185 Celcius lol I thought it was Fahrenheit.
Yes blink and you miss the cooking instructions
Omg u just solved why there. It cooking
I'd like to buy this but don't think it would do my leg of lamb and other things that size. Has anyone tried and what size model have you used. Thanks
Meme Smith it’s great for rack of lamb
Delicious
Just buy a portable oven
there are larger models in which you can put larger junks of meat- and for a family you want the larger model- as the small model is more for single people. Even though - I've made smaller meat roasts in my small model + they turned out lovely!
Thank you
Can we use any other oil??
Thanks. Gonna try this now for the first time.

Yeah great Video! Whoop!
Every tutorial should be like that and commentaries typed below with timestamps.
Great, But can You show how to do potato chips? Please, 😃
I'm assuming these are potato chips considering they say to cook them at 185°
I had set the timer to 25 mins and temperature 185 degrees, after 10 mins while opening the basket to shake the Air fryer doesnt stop it's operation. Is it supposed to not stop when basket is open (timer was on)
no I'm saying it does not stop!
No. It’s manual; it won’t stop unless the timer knob gets turned to 0 for it to trigger the off button.
It's 185 Celsius
Bro made a CZcams short before there was CZcams shorts what a legend
Soak them longer to get them more crispy
I forgot to dry the potatoes after soaking . Now it is so sticky and became a mess inside the air fryer . 🙂
do shaking still matter in the newer versions, i thought u werent supposed to open it or u had to do it manually

Yes the new version doesn't need shaking
Philips didn’t understand your question
lmao@@SySt3m
If it's rotating type (An inner rod rotates the food for you so it's cooked on all sides. No shaking required in this case) then you don't need to do the shaking.
I'm assuming 185 degrees Celsius seeing as how you omit the units....?
That's 365F imperial.
185 c or ??
Can i also use canola oil?
Absolutely.
When do we apply salt?
Usually after it's cooked, but I've discovered that adding salt before cooking is a good way to make them salty :)
Steel ya kanch use karsakte hai liquid sabji garam karne k liye
No
Do you dry the fries before putting them in the airfryer? And oil on them before putting them in the airfryer or not?
Hi, thanks for your comment. For optimal results with your Airfryer, it’s recommended to dry the fries before cooking. This helps in removing excess moisture, ensuring that your fries will be crispy. After drying, you could lightly coat the fries with oil. A half tablespoon of oil mixed well with the fries should suffice. This step isn’t necessary for pre-fried frozen fries as they already contain oil. However, for homemade fries, adding oil can enhance the taste and contribute to a crispy texture. Remember to never pour oil directly into the pan of the Airfryer. For more detailed instructions and tips on using your Airfryer, we kindly advise you to refer to the User Manual and our official Philips website.
@@Philips thanks a lot for your reply, I appreciate it 🙂👍

Sir, no need to preheat?
Hi Rohma, thanks for your question. You do not need to preheat your Airfryer. You can simply put the food in it right away. Hope this helps.
Does he mean 185 celcius (since it's in the UK)? I would assume it's 365 Farenheit
Yeah it means celcius, there's no way that the fries would cook like that if it was 185 Farenheit
Jason Briggs thx I didn’t think
Of that
Thanks that's what I thought.
185°c or 185°F ?
That’s a silly question lol 185F you may aswell cook them with a lightbulb 😂
Short and too the point.😊
What's the reason for soaking? And is this for any white 🥔 russets to reds?
Soaking potatoes in water helps remove excess starch. Excess starch can inhibit the potatoes from cooking evenly as well as creating a gummy or sticky texture on the outside of your potatoes.
@@itsfatima4245 oh yes, TY. I remember you mentioned that!

hi Philips! How do I fry my vegetables which are coated in batter? they all stick to the base, its annoying. :(
Hi there, Mentari. Thank you for your comment. As a general answer, our Airfryers are not designed to be used in combination with added oil or batter. However, there are several factors involved, so if you'd like us to look into the issue further and provide you with better assistance, we invite you to send us a private message on Facebook or Twitter (@PhilipsCare) mentioning the specific model number of your device. Hope to speak to you soon!
Hey there, just checking in. We were wondering if we could still provide further assistance. Feel free to let us know.
I use a silicon tray, the base might miss a patch but it works just fine for me
Use an aluminum foil and keep turning vegetables timely
@@Philips yes you can
Why the need to soak them? and can doing so for too long ruin the final result?
Fahrenheit or Celsius
Celsius...
Celsius or Fahrenheit? 😅
⚠ Many modern air fryers come pre-set to a temperature of 200°C for cooking French fries, but this high temperature can lead to the formation of acrylamide, a substance linked to cancer. Philips, however, has taken a commendable approach by recommending the appropriate temperatures for cooking French fries. It's advisable to start cooking at 180°C or below for half of the cooking time and then increase the temperature to 190°C for the remaining time. Additionally, soaking the potatoes for 30 minutes before cooking is a beneficial practice as it reduces starch content, consequently lowering acrylamide formation.
325°F (163°C) for 10 min,
then
375°F (190°C) for 10 min
This recipe is not working..every time either it is becoming soggy or it will get burntout..i am using same Philips air fryer
Thanks for saving my time
What about salt and other seasoning, u didn't add
do they really need to show you some hand sprinkling some salt ??? C'mon man
185 CELCIUS not Fahrenheit
Are these healthy?
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Good question! The answer is yes. 😉 Using the air fryer in itself is much healthier than frying in oil due to a lot less fat, and reduces calories by up to 70-80%. If you make the fries from scratch by slicing up some fresh potatoes, the recipe becomes even healthier! Should you have further questions, please feel free to let us know.
185 degrees ? Did I read that right ?
Most people use Celsius.
no salt?
You can add it yourself, I did that and the fries turned out amazing
I did everything but my potatoes were still raw even with the oil spread and after being dried, I don't know what I did wrong
Hello, thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that the french fries did not turn out well - did you make sure to cook them for 10 minutes at 185 degrees for 25 minutes (shaking after 10 minutes)? If so, we advise you to try again, this time increasing the cooking time based on your preferences. 😉 If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know!
Well that seems pretty simple and fool prove but I am sure I'll mess it up
They look amazing, really nice. However it isn't practical for a family of 4, this is one of the negative things about air fryers, I have a 9L (4.5L - 2 trays) and I have tried everyway possible to cook enough chips for the four of us. I have rinsed the chips, dried them, spray with oil, salt, then I have tried par boiling the chips, dry them, no oil, salt, then soak the chips for an hour, dry them spray oil, salt and set it for 38 mins on 200 degrees, shake them two or three times and after 28 mins they are either still raw, or crispy on the outside but raw in the middle. Everyone who does air fry chips on You Tube gets them just right but they literally cook a dozen chips. So by my calculations all four of us will be eating at different times, that's not to mention what else we are cooking so for example we had frozen fish, I would have to cook the fish at different times. What's the point in that, why make a large 9L air fryer that can only cook a dozen chips, its just not practical and your not saving electric as by the time I have cooked four lots of chips, four different times for the fish, I haven't saved any money on the energy used, in fact I have used more. I am really beginning to regret buying an air fryer, I might have to return it as I cannot see the benefit for a family, for one person, great, but for a family, no chance, and the crazy thing is a 9L air fryer is supposed to feed a family of 8, wow, how??...Also I remembered someone suggested cooking on a lower temp for longer, I tried it and what I got was a crispy skin but nothing in the middle as the longer heat literally dried up he potato in the middle.
Do you use hot cold or warm water

Unfortunately I tried your method step by step and after the time you recommended the chips were raw in the middle, so added another 30 mins and the chips were cooked in the middle but the skin was burnt!.

185 what !!?!! Fahrenheit or Celsius!?! Chuz I put 185 Fahrenheit and had it for like 40 minutes!!! It’s hella raw!!!

I don't peel the potato. The vitamins are more there. Most of the time I saw potatoes being peeled.
so i still need oil huh?
Olive oil btw
Philips manual clearly says not to fry fresh potatoes above 180°C to minimise the production of acrylamides. Why is your official video misleading people?
What happens if i don't soak them
I think the soaking is to remove excess starch and moisten them. I've found if there's too much starch it can prevent you getting that crunchiness and they come out a bit leathery or chewy, and a bit dry.
Nothing much, really. In the end there's not much of a difference
Came out brown and mushy

@@gamerkid7340 lolll
Keep it at 160°C or lower for 25 mins
This is all wrong. You have to cook the fries twice. What I do is I partly preboil my potatoe fries in water till they are almost done. Then I cool them and dry them and let them rest for 15 minutes. Then I shake the dried fries in a big mixing cup so they get a bit fluffy on the outside and spray them with some cooking oil. Then I put them in the airfryer on 200 Celcius for 10 minutes, or till they are golden brown. Remember the fries are already almost cooked so they just need to get the crunchy and golden brown outer layer. This is also the way I used to cook my fries in a deepfryer with hot oil.
No wonder deep fryers sell better. You just throw them in frozen, 4-5 min they're perfect.
@Cameron Actually I have upgraded to an air fryer now. No oil involved, no heart attack. 😁
