Have you ever tried making potato wedges in the air fryer? When you air fry potato wedges, you get the same crispy exterior as deep frying but with only a fraction of the oil. This method makes much crispier potatoes wedges than if you baked them while the inside is as tender as if you deep-fried them.

I use my airfryer a lot. I like my wedges crisp so i add 1/2 tsp cornstarch and 1/4 tsp sugar after i toss the potato wedges with skin. I met a chef who told me about the sugar trick. that actually gives the wedges a lovely golden color as it carmelizes the wedges. Nice video Colt
Thank you for sharing, may I ask how you mix the sugar & cornstarch? You mix them up with wedges before putting them in the fryer?
@@primavera919 yes, I add a little oil to the potato wedges. I ad a mix of cornstarch and sugar, salt and pepper and toss in the barely cooked wedges pre tranferring it to the airfryer. Good luck Just made spme today with golden yellow potatoes from Canada. Let me know if it turned out okay.
Do they taste sweet?
@@shusha50 This is confusing. First she said yes you add the mixture before cooking in the air fryer but what do you do to barely cook the potatoes?
@@Soo_Blessed not at all
great pace. no wasted time. no silly funfacts. just the necessities.
I made these for dinner tonight and my big kids asked for more! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe!
400°F = 204°C for everyone else using Celsius
Legend ❤
Thank u
Hi Justin, from little old New Zealand at the bottom of the world. I've just bought an air fryer and found this recipe for wedges. I've only had the air fryer one day, but will be trying these very soon. I found your recipe video very easy to follow and understand, thank you. And of course, I've now subscribed!
I love your simple no complicated airfrier recipe ….best one so far ❤️
Great recipe, thank you for posting! He instructs to peel the potatoes , but I leave the skin on and I would argue they are tastier with the skin on. Depending on the size of the wedges, I typically cook them at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. I would check them after 12 minutes and take a bite to assess, and cook longer as needed. After making these I will never make frozen french fries in my air fryer again. Just a wonderful recipe!
Thanks Bryan, glad you enjoyed them!
Me too, I like skin on it is the British way, lol.
Considering that buy potatoes is actually way cheaper then getting Frozen yeah I agree..... I live in Wisconsin I'm assuming that they're pretty cheap everywhere though
I agree Bryan, I leave the skin on too. More nutritious in the skin. 👋🏻
Yea I made half with the skin and half without and I also definitely liked the one with the skin on
I just discovered you channel, and I love your videos! I'm new to air frying, but you have inspired me to use mine even more, especially in the summer heat. I'm going to share your videos with all of my buddies. Great, practical tips. I am so glad to hear that preheating is not an absolute must, and that I don't have to parboil my taters.
This is the easiest and best way to make these. Some other content creator believes she's "frugal" but she wastes TONS of time.
Thank you!
Great video, you’re easy to watch and love the simple recipe! Thank you!
I made them and they’re delicious thank you so much for sharing this recipe!❤️
Thanks for the tips. We just got one a few months back and it’s incredible. Saves so much time.
By see all your air fryer recipes I cannot wait any longer get one new fryer . It looks incredibly delicious 😋
I'll try them out thanks for sharing
Thank you I made my fries today and they were a hit! I’m glad I didn’t have to put them in water for 1 hour like others suggested
I find the water soak removes some of the starch from the potatoes.
Thank You. I finally got my fries to come out cooked inside and not too crispy. They are perfect, just the way I like them. I was following the temp and time on the Air Fryer, but it wasn't working at 400 for 20 min. I did 350 degrees for 15 mins, flipping in between.
I tried this recipe today and it came out so delicious and lip smacking. But I added cornflour to it to make it crisp on outside and doesn't remove the skin of potatoes.
Thank you for sharing such amazing receipe
Made this yesterday and my family loved it. Thank you
Your videos are fantastic, not only have you sold me on the air fryer but I really enjoy how you explain your recipes with a touch of humor added, keep up the good work.
Glad you like them! Thank you!
😅❤❤. J. Mm nm
I made these today and everyone loved them! Thank you for the recipe!
This is healthy way of enjoying potatoes and no oil at all. I like fried potatoes. The best way ever !!!
YES! I have the red 5.8 liter Cosori air fryer that I purchased as a self-gift for Christmas and will be using this recipe! Thank you.
That’s a great gift to yourself. You deserve it!
Just a little tip. Throw the wedges in a plastic zip lock bag and add the oil and shake them around to evenly coat with oil.
These look awesome. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Use the least amount of plastic as possible. We already have fish that are contaminated with microplastics.
Also use avocado oil instead of olive oil. Olive oil should not be used for high temperature cooking because it will smoke and oxidize.
Just bought an air fryer here in the Philippines and enjoy the learning experience. Thanks for the advice.
You motivated me to try them my friend... They turned out very well I used minced garlic instead I didn't have the powder and really turned out amazing.... Thanks for the video
I use the ice bath, it removes alot of the starch.. I use seasoning salt too.. looks great...😀🥰
Great recipe. Appreciate the quick pace of your clips. No time wasted.
Thank you! I don’t have time for endless talking and I’m sure you don’t either 😁
I just made these in my Cosori and they are AMAZING!!! thank you! :)
I tried this recipe yesterday and it came out super delicious. Best recipe ever and super quick. Keep doing great work. Love you
I just made these and the fries turned out so good! I added 2 more minutes to make them a little more crispy. Thanks 🙏🏼
Great to hear!
Looks awesome. Making them asap. Thank you
I just got my first air fryer for free from a client today! Im super excited to start making things and Your channel is my go-to.
Your demonstrations are very good...thanks for sharing!
Great videos, Coit! Regarding "putting the potatoes in the ice bath/ water" is because if potatoes are cut and kept in the open, they turn brown/ black/ or get a layer just like when apples are kept in the open after being cut. That's because they have starch in them and and this process is called oxidation. When starch is exposed to oxygen, it turns gray/ brown/ or even black. Though they are completely edible, we soak them in water to avoid this. Water also washes away the starch, so it makes it little less "starchy" and we can feel better about eating those carbs! :D
Thanks for simple logical cooking instructions that doesn't complicate!! Love it
My pleasure. I always try to make things as easy as possible because that’s how I like to cook. Thanks for watching!

My pleasure 😊
I did it according to your recipe! My pop loves it! Ty❤
The ics bath helps remove some of the starches and really makes them so much better
Just bought a 5lb bag of russets at my local grocery store for $.99. I hardly ever buy potatoes anymore because of trying to eat low carb and because of how expensive they become. but tis the holiday season and for $.99 I’m excited to try these wedge potatoes in my air fryer!! 😊
My first video watching you and within 2 minutes I liked and subscribed. You're educational, easy going, and straight to the point. Thank you!
Thanks so much Nancy! I’m glad you found my channel!
Clear precise thank you ! i just ordered an air fryer I hope you do more videos
Loved your video, have the same Cosori and love it. Just purchased a Cosori dual basket, it does a great job cooking fries also. Thanks for the video. Happy cookin!
Thanks for reaffirming air frying doesn’t have to be complicated (ie. pre-heat, 3?? degrees, etc.); simple seasoning, simple heat setting, etc. works just great and taste absolutely perfect! Thanks!
Absolutely. Thank you for watching!
My Instant Vortex air fryer automatically goes into preheat and tells me when to add ingredients and then when to turn! Nothing difficult about an air fryer.
I love the way you speak. Today am gonna make this recipe 💐
I'm happy to hear that!
I made it the other day. Kept on for 2 mins extra than shown in the video. Best ever. Crunchy on the outside, mushy on the inside. Never ordering french fries from restaurants again.
Just ordered an Air Fryer and this recipe will be my first fryer food adventure, thanks for the clip and entertainment.
Looks delish! I will buy an air fryer tomorrow and will try this recipe!
My air fryer has a max temp of 200deg.😥..how long do I need to time it to make crispy wedges?
I’m definitely going to make these tonight👍🏼 New subscriber from Southern California 😁
Fantastic. Hope they come out great for you!
Thanks for sharing ,you made it look simple.
Your receipe is awesome. My son love it. He used to eat from greggs. But he likes my home made wedges too. Thanks dear
Thanks for simple logical cooking instructions that doesn’t complicate: love it ❤
My pleasure 😊 Simple is best!
So original
totally not copied
Great recipe. try them with a little oregano in the seasoning mix. The taste just pops!
I came back to say, I tried this recipe and it came out delicious! I had to do bother batch as the first one was completely wiped out by my family and they asked for more.
I made them 😊. Thanks for sharing the idea
Omg I love how you said u don’t believe the ice thing and how pre heating is useless bc SAME😂 you’re so real and have great recipes. Love it
haha thank you!
Just watched this and couldn’t even finish the video and made it, Delicious, thanks for sharing
Fantastic to hear! Thanks for letting me know 🙌🏻
thank you for making this, I do agree with the pre-heating thingy, dunno why many people do that
Thanks for the recipe sir my whole family cooked it 😊
Nothing better than a happy family!
They look so good👍
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
Came out perfect . Thank you 🙏🏻
Looks healthy and filling. You are a talented guy.
my rule of thumb is, if I think something is "done" in the air fryer, I put it in for an extra 5 minutes. That time is the "magic time", and they always come out in a "levelled up" state that is far and beyond my expectations. this works for anything in the air fryer
Thanks!! I will make them this weekend and add a little Parmesan cheese at the end. 🤤
Great idea
Watched this video a couple weeks ago, about to try the recipe now, hope it comes out good!
Awesome thanks for the clear instructions
Love potato wedges very much with sour cream. Thanks for the sharing of making pw :)
Never tried them with sour cream. Great idea
I was thinking Ranch dressing but sour cream or sour cream dip sounds delicious, thanks for the idea.
This is simple and freaking awesome - thank you. Previously I have done the soaking in water thing to get the starch out, par boiling first, etc, etc. Your recipe gets rid of all that noise/crap !
So glad you like this recipe Lester!
Exactly! I did those steps too but not anymore 🥲
This helped get my fries crispy! Thank you so much
These look delish, I'm gonna make mine in the air fryer also, yummy. Thanks great videos, keep them coming.
Made this tonight. I went 2 more minutes than he recommends, a quarter teaspoon more of each of the seasonings. Otherwise this was great!!
Great!
@@cookingwithcoit I subscribed your channel today
Hey! I'm a newbie to the air fryer I just got one a week ago (Cosori) and your videos have been very helpful! Thank you so much :-)..... The ketchup noise was hilarious!🤣
Congrats on your new air fryer!
@@cookingwithcoit thank you so much, I'm really enjoying it!
Thank you for sharing. Making right now ❤
My daughter gave me a air fryer for Christmas I haven taken it out of the box I think I will try to make these potatoes they look yummy thanks for the recipe
Watching from Idaho where the best potatoes come from 😀
This is the perfect recipe for you then! 😀
I made cubed potatoes with red onion and red & green bell peppers…yummy! Thank you for giving me a basic idea on using my air fryer. Do you have recipe for making fondant style potatoes in the air fryer?
I don’t have a recipe like that but I should!
I love all his recipes and the frugal mamma she is awesome
I just purchased this Air fryer on Amazon, as it seems to be the best one, I have seen for the price. Your video is really good I agree with another comment I leave the skin on
So very cool. I enjoyed watching you prepare these amazing Potato Wedges. I am for sure going to give this a try.
I hope they come out great for you!
I didn't try the ice technique but I soak them in water for 30 min so some of the starch comes out, and I dry them in a towel and I add just a little olive oil, before I put them in the airfryer, I noticed that it makes a difference and also using russets like you is more indicated these are better for fries/air fries 😊
Great to hear Ceci!
Yes, getting the starch out makes them crispier, and also would only use a cap-ful of oil...
I agree with the rinse, pat dry & oil method.
Did you soak with or without skin?
@@beetlejooz I soaked without skin, I peeled the skin
Thanks this was the easiest cooking video ever! Plus you just got a new subscriber!! Thanks again!
They look delicious can’t wait to try some
Now this is our daily side dish😋
So great to hear!
Appetizing 👌👌😋😋..
Thanks so much!
I've just purchased the puremate 5.5l air fryer so I will be trying this recipe out. They look delicious
Sounds great. Congrats on your new air fryer! 🙌🏻
Love it ! So easy and fast !!! 👏👍😋
I like how you don't wash/soak/dry those potatoes and have a great result. I can't ever get those tremendous time consuming pre-cooking manipulations.
I respect people that go to such lengths but I’m not one of them :)
