    I just made these. They came out PERFECT my family loved it and they said it was better then lays, thank you. I wanted to say if your air frier can only go up to 200 heat just put them at 200 for 8 minutes and at the end just shake it around. After that you want to put it on for another 8minutes then finished.

    To all the people saying that it's far easier to go buy some from the local grocery store, are the problem with this 'I want everything and I want it now', society we now live in. Take a minute to just appreciate that you are being educated (for free, no less) on alternate ways of providing yourself with those convenient little things that you can currently take for granted. Thanks for the video.

      If you're having problems losing weight, not because you're lazy, but for medical issues like myself, eating healthy is way better than ordering fast food every chance you get, so instead of a lot of people always coming up with excuses, why don't you give healthy eating a shot. If your income is extremely limited, I understand, but if a person spends most of their money going to McDonald's all the time, instead of eating that junk almost everyday give healthy eating a chance, and you'll be surprised. Example, as much as I love chips, I chose to try kettle chips, after eating them, I can't go back to regular chips anymore. Kettle chips gave me a chance to see what I was really eating, so I tried to taste my old chips to see if the taste of eating them again was there, kettle chips made me realize how terrible regular chips taste, and after tasting the actual fat in them, I was done, and I only eat kettle chips, or popcorn, chips wise.

I had a bag of russets and sweet potatoes given to me. My slices are a bit thicker. My air fryer has racks so I easily tripled this recipe. I also added garlic pepper and did use sea salt. Had no salad spinner and as stated it is not really needed. When guests come to my home they are treated to an amazing array of foods and tastes they have never had and cannot buy! I have two smokers a grill TWO air fryers as well as an outside grill. Oh! You can eliminate the oxidation completely by scrubbing the excess starch off the potatoes in the water with your fingers, as you add the slices. The enzyme that turns brown will come off in the water and leave white potato slices behind. The water will turn a little brown, but that just means it worked. Remember that water is H2O, and the O will cause that enzyme to turn brown in it.

I bet that that would speed things up. It won't get hot enough to cook them but since its a multi level tower could do slices from several potatoes at a time.

    One table spoon of oil for that sized potato is very very high oil use. In fact deep frying it in good 370F oil will make the potatoes take less oil than 1 tablespoon. Shoot for 1 teaspoon or less for that size of potato. I can do it with 0 in my air fryer, but I also have a full glass bowl with racks that really have potatoes in "air" instead of in a metal bowl.

    My chips fly around in the air fryer and fold in on themselves. Am I slicing them too thin?

    • @ZestyEstie
      @ZestyEstie  Před 3 lety +7

      It’s normal for them to fly around a little in the air fryer, this also depends on the type of air fryer you have, and the quantity of chips you place inside, the less chips the more likely they are to fly around. It’s possible that you are slicing them too thin if all of them are folding onto themselves, but if it’s just a few, no worries, just separate them when you take them out to toss. You’ll notice in the video that the first time I toss the chips some of them are stuck together, that’s normal! Just separate them and continue to cook, once they begin to dry out the sticking should stop :) hope this helps!

      @@paulhough3579 I never thought of myself wasting water but I do live in a west coast rainforest so there is plenty of it. I do not ever water my lawn since our summers are not that hot and it actually would mean having to cut the grass more often. I don't like to make extra work for myself.
      I am very thankful that I do not have to think about being careful with water because I love having lots of it. I live across from the ocean, shower daily, and use water in my daily household cleaning chores. I can do without a lot of things, but a shortage of water is not one of them.
