Isi, you will love these. I'm so glad I bought this air fryer. It is not a game changer, more of an improvement in efficiency. A really good fan oven will do the same.
My husband and I made your french fry recipe for dinner tonight. Along with air fried extra lean hamburger and air toasted hamburger buns . So we had a delicious hamburger, french fries broccoli and watermelon. Hardly any calories in that entire meal. All in all it was less than 500 calories. We were talking about how the meal was hundreds of times better than picking up a hamburger and fries at McDonald’s. Those are just greasy slopped together mess. What we had was absolutely delicious. As an aside, our Gourmia air fryer is the toaster version. It has a setting for french fries and that setting worked beautifully. I think it cooked for 18 minutes. We didn’t have to stir it up at all as they cooked very evenly. Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. Since I got my air fryer (now nearly 3 years old) I have not been to any fast food outlets at all. Using lean rump steak to make my ground beef or venison in my burger , plus air fryer onion rings and air fryer French fries, gives me my fast food fix, but in a healthy way. I know I'm preaching to the converted but It's so nice to hear you say the same thing and reach the same conclusion. I can now eat spring rolls again now that I cook them in the air fryer. Thanks again for watching and taking your time with such thoughtful feedback. I really appreciate it, so much.
Well Charlie, my next recipe is more unhealthy. It is jacket seasoned wedges with bacon, cheese and sour cream. I'm pretty sure I can do these in the air fryer. So many recipes to try out. Take care my friend and stay well.
The whole process is beautifully done ...I love ur cutting n preparing...they are so crunchy when came out...thanks for your nice share 😋keep going n stay connected permanently plz ♥️
Hi John I have recently seen a video about French fries from proper potatoes came out very crispy but raw inside lol so I have not made them yet but yours came out looking amazing so I will use your recipe have a good day
Raw inside can be either 1) an unsuitable variety of potato 2) Potatoes sliced into chips that are too big ie 1/2 inch rather than 3/8 or below or 3) Not pre heating air fryer or 4) overloading air fryer 5) air fryer wattage inadequate, which can be the case in cheap models. Is this one you refer to on you tube? If so can you send me the link please. Cheers and thanks heaps for passing on your info my friend.
Have to admit, the finished result looked absolutely superb however you had me in stitches when you added oil and then sprinkles of the seasoning to the chips in the air fryer basket! It looked as if some chips would be extra coated and some hardly at all. From personal experience I find it easier doing that step in the dried bowl so you don't burn your fingers if you need to toss the potatoes around a fair bit. Thanks for a great video none the less!!
Ah, this is the downfall of video I guess and my fault for not showing everything. I put the oil and seasoning on the chips in the basket and then shake until well combined. Thanks for pointing this out. i will add a footnote to my description. Thank you so much for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment. I really appreciate it.
Hahaha....I think I have had these more than 50 times now. It's dead easy, but you need to make sure you get the right potatoes. Just make sure you get floury potatoes and let me know how you get on. Thanks so much for watching and messaging. I really appreciate your feedback.
I got the idea because when i do mashed potato, I always putting them in a baking dish, cover with grated cheese and a sprinkle of paprika and then broil/grill for 5 minutes till golden. Minus the cheese , this is the same idea. They taste really awesome. Im working on one for jacket seasoned wedges with bacon and sour cream and cheese. I know you are already drooling my friend. Thanks for commenting, take care and keep on dickin' around.
Thank you so much. If you get the right style of potato and use the cooking times and also cut the potatoes evenly, then you will have perfect fries all the time, inside 26 minutes. An air fryer is just a small version of a fan forced oven that is ultra efficient as it doesn't have to heat a huge area. It cooks quicker and needs less power.
Your recipe is awesome and will go very high.of course it will be very tasty to eat.😋 I love it .I will definitely try it.You will tell me in the comments. How do you like my recipes? Thanks.,,, 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👏👏👏👏
Thank you 😋 Asmi, if you sliced potatoes, sprinkled them with paprika, and left them out in the sun they would look like this hahaha. They were super yummy thank you.
It would be so much easier to go meatless, if potatoes didn't make me fat. hahaha With that ABBA-esque music in the background while you clang the spuds in that fry basket, it feels kinda like it's 1977, and I've got tin cans tied to my feet. (I mean that in the best possible way.) haha
I'm struggling to deal with this comment, much like a film expert at Cannes. The complexities of sound in this music genre metaphor, make me feel like singing Dancing Queen just to highlight your deep psychological rage. It does scream dinner party of the 70's though, with the air fryer being the only anachronism.
Yes it is in Celsius. It defaults to 180 C when you push the French Fries preset icon. You do raise an interesting point. I will include Fahrenheit as well from now on. Most of my viewers are from the UK & USA, but I assumed everyone has dual measurements. I know I can set my Air Fryer to Fahrenheit, should i need to take it on tour of the Northern Hemisphere. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comment - it's a great idea for me to be providing both temperature settings.
The first cook was 18 minutes at 200 degrees C. I gave them a shake after 8 minutes ( ensures more even cooking). Then I cooked for a further 5 minutes at 200 degrees C. You can tell when they are cooked by the really loud sound they make when you shake them in the basket. It means they are crispy.
There is always one trouble maker in the comments section haha. I literally have nothing calibrated in Fahrenheit, or were you just showing off your spelling skills. I actually don't have one. last time I had Brussels was in a stir fry of all things. Have you bought an air fryer?
@@CookingAroundTheWorld Yup, just got one of those oven/fryer combos. It's a KitchenAid with hard to see dials which are on the bottom. If the fryer selection doesn't cut it I'll get rid of it. I like the size(small) so I hope it works out. I've had air fried potatoes and chicken tenders so far although, I think tenders are better baked on parchment paper to retain some moisture! If you haven't had roasted brussel sprouts you're missing a good dish. Oh, I had to look up the spelling.....duh!
I could not stop laughing. I cut everything awkwardly my friend. Onions I'm a real shocker at. I guess it's good for people who also find cutting food up difficult, that it doesn't stop you, if you are tenacious enough. I'm sorry you had to go through it all, but pleased you watched. I have these at least once a week and the cutting never gets any better.
You are quite right. Unfortunately lots of countries call chips the thin sliced crisps that you get cold in bags. The air fried version I made, while often referred to as chips in my country and the UK, are called French Fries in the USA and many other countries, due mostly to the fast food brand influences of MacDonalds and others. Calling them French fries in my videos, though wrong, does stop the confusion. I really should do another video called "Chips, glorious chips".
I love Air Friyer Recipes its easy and healthy! Looks delicious 👍😋

They are crispy on the out side, and soft inside YUM Then i season them with salt, cayenne pepper, and Onion powder, and THERE DONE YUMMY
John I have the same air fryer. And your title is very correct. Potatoes are great at any meal. And your way is much more healthy.

I have to agree with you Sir, those look like the best fresh I’ve seen in a long time.

The only thing I might add... and I'm guessing. Is your Air Fryer is Celsius vs Fahrenheit???
Yes it is in Celsius. It defaults to 180 C when you push the French Fries preset icon. You do raise an interesting point. I will include Fahrenheit as well from now on. I could not understand total time. You said 18 min then 18 min more?????
The first cook was 18 minutes at 200 degrees C. I gave them a shake after 8 minutes ( ensures more even cooking). Then I cooked for a further 5 minutes at 200 degrees C. You can tell when they are cooked by the really loud sound they make when you shake them in the basket. It means they are crispy.
Please, always add fahrenheit!

À bien des égards, si c’est le seul inconvénient de cette recette, alors j’en suis content.
