    Thanks to you and your buddy Tim for the fun battle. I'm a "seasoned" rider like Tim and its great to see him ripping cause I plan on doing that myself for many more years. My most fun ride ever was on my ol CR125 with my buddy on his 125 chasing down another fast guy on a 125 at our local track. So much blast!!!

    Just picked up a new 2021 YZ250X two days ago. It’s sitting in the garage right now unridden until my protective gear and hour meter arrives in the mail. Sometimes I go in the garage and just stare at it, stroke it, sit on it and make brrap noises....can’t wait to get her out in the desert!

    Hey Rado (hope I pronounced and spelled it right). Keep up the good work on videos! You have a nice mixture of guys you ride with. I enjoyed the interview and as alway good info on these 125's!! I float right at around 200-205 lbs and I'm convinced to get a 125 for my next trail bike.
    I look back and realize I hardly ever used all the juice my KTM300 or my current Beta 498 has to offer on the tight single track. Lazy rider comes to mind when describing the big bores on the trail. With those 125's you guys are on it!! And they are so light!!
    The 125X screams and runs clean with that carb stick you installed.

  • @rcrosier
    @rcrosier Před 3 lety +1

    When you're riding the YZ125, you need to fan the clutch in sections of the track when you're bogging, or shift if you're that far off the hit. If you're not willing to fan the clutch, you have to take the outside line and focus on maintaining a high corner speed. The YZ125 (non X) still has much better bottom end / mid range power than most 2t bikes, such as the old CRs or the new KTM SX models.

    Hi Rado - the reason why your YZ125X can't rev as much as the standard YZ125 despite the fact that the ignition timing is slightly delayed at the top rpm-range of the "X" is that your stock rear sprocket is up 2-teeth, i.e. 50-teeth on the "X" vs. 48-teeth on the regular YZ125.
    While you're at it in the MX track, why not put a 48-teeth on your "X" and test it once again against Tim's regular YZ125??? Give us a feedback bro. Looking forward to it....
    Thanks huge. God bless

      @@dirtniron thanks huge Rado for any feedback if indeed the 48T rear sprocket made some "noticeable" difference in the MX tracks. I'm hoping it does, and the "X" is i bet a better all-around bike than the standard YZ125, whether for MX and enduro.
      God bless.

      @dadthelad Před 3 lety +2

      All that does is lower each gear. So in first gear, you will need to change earlier, and it gives you more grunt off the mark. For every other gear, yes, you exit each gear at a slightly slower speed, but you also enter it at a slightly slower speed, the rev range is the same, so it will still have less top end. Change the sprocket, and it will still have the same gruntier low and middle end, and less top end.

      he put a 50 tooth on the x,
      (48 being stock) it should have a higher

      torque in each gear at low rpms

    Have you played with jetting in your STIC? They are supposed to allow a crazy amount of overrev. They even recommend a torque pipe because the STIC allows for so much overrev. Plus the carb is a 38 instead of a 36 which should give the air at top revs too. I know the mapping is different but its not that much different. I know people that say they won't ride a 125 without a STIC. Your friend should have been like holy crap! I'm ordering one on the drive home! Call George, he will help you get all you can from the carb.

    • @dirtniron

      @@dirtniron what do you mean 2 teeth bigger? 2 bigger in the rear? I definatly would not do that. Especially the track you are riding. With the STIC I would even go 1 smaller in the rear if anything.
      I tried a lower ratio once on my 125. I hated it in every area. Even made the bike turn worse. Your bike should be eating a stock yz just with the Kehien carb alone without the STIC

    A yz125x is faster than a regular yz125 because it has more low end power like a 4 stroke which makes it faster through the rpms. It still has that powerband but you dont always have to be on the top of the rpm like you do on the regular 125.

    Seems like the 2 stroke guys spend all their time getting on the gas. While the 4 stroke guys spend all their time letting off the gas.🙄
