One mistake on my video. I keep mentioning you need the adapter and hood to make it fully weather sealed. What I really meant is you need to add a FILTER to make it fully weather sealed.
In my opinion, people would be better off buying an XE3 or an XE4 rather than a X100V or VI, considering the very high price of the X100 line-up. The downside of the XE is the lack of IBIS and optical viewfinder. The Fujifilm 27mm f2.8 is compact and makes the XE4 very small and lightweight. But the 27mm is loud and the continuous AF is bad in my opinion, it made me miss a lot of shots. I replaced it with the 23mm F2, and it's so much better, but bigger. In the end, I leave my Sony A7III at home when I go out but don't have the idea of specifically shooting photos. It's a great replacement for my phone, a wonderful everyday camera. And when I know I'll take pictures, I take the Sony out.
You say its expensive but what is it competing against? XT5 size is big enough to stop me taking it everywhere I go. All depends on needs. I can't see anything that competes against it at this price. I wasn't looking for a new camera, I have A7rV etc but this does something other cameras don't. Form factor, film recipes, leaf shutter
Thanks for taking the time to drop by! I'm firm on my stance that the X100VI is just too much for what it is. My opinion is my own and there are quite a few people that are aligned with it. I did mention in the video that the X100 series is really meant more for a niche market of fujis customer base. I think it works for anyone that wants a similar experience shooting with the Leica Q3 but for 3/4 of the cost. Using the XT5 to compare: - it has all the film recipes (reala ace will be added via firmware updates) - One can argue that the form factor between the two is minimal, at least with the XT5 it has a better grip (I own both cameras) - The battery life is better - I don't feel the lack of leaf shutter or ND-filter is a deal breaker on the XT5 - 2 sd card lots I do like the optical viewfinder in the x100VI though! If I could find an X100V for the cost that it was before social media (mainly tiktok) hyped it, I would buy that in a heart beat and return my x100vi. 😀
@@lee.ronin.photography as I said it all depends on use case. The x100vi tempted me to try Fuji for the first time as it’s different enough from what I currently shoot. The xt5 wouldn’t have tempted me personally as it won’t fit in my pocket. If I had an xt5 there’s no way I’d buy the x100vi though and if it was my only camera I think I’d go with xt5 👍
I think a lot of the hype is surrounded by the fact if you have this camera, you will take good photos (social media hype). The camera itself is a good tool to make the user's photography a little easier. I can't knock on that the fact it's so compact and perfect for travel.

I bought the X100VI recently and have never seen it on TikTok, I didn't even care that was a factor for some folks. Also your comment is a bit ridiculous, its like saying people just want an Omega because Patek Philippe is too expensive. The X100 is quality, and has stood the test of time long before it became popularised more recently.

Not a hood, a filter. There are filters available that don’t require an adapter

Nonsense! It has nothing ro do with tiktok. The X100 Series is a Great Camera, very easy to use with Great Image Quality. Just right for beginners.
