Everyone at Bistro Huddy: "So you have chosen death"
I’d be the same way Bridgette is so precious
@@anime.geek330Such a genuine sweetheart. My customer service skills would go out the window if someone yelled at her and they would leave tears and good tip on the table. (:0
Honestly- despite him saying he’s got sh*tty customer service skills, that was actually a pretty good confrontation. He’s better at it then he realizes I think.
I mean yeah, he resolved the situation pretty damn well.
it's more like he doesn't have the right customer service skills, like "people pleasing"
Stop it don’t give Joey ideas, the kitchen needs him and deep down he needs the kitchen
I was expecting a lot worse, honestly. He handled that like a champ.

Dude yes!! When I worked at a restaurant the owner ran over to tell off a table who grabbed my arm and yanked me to try get my attention. This was on Mother’s Day with our brunch rush. That day I was slammed and felt like none appreciated anything I did serving them but when I heard my boss yell “ you don’t touch my fu**ing servers becuase you want a third Mamosa” I felt like I was ontop of the world.
Well done, Boss Man!
That's such a sweet story! I'm so glad you got to experience that!
Lol based
It's insane how everyone in this sketch is played by the same person but feels like an entirely different character. No problem telling them apart after 5 seconds of watching them behave, Drew Talbert is an astounding actor.
It can never be overstated how talented Drew is.
I couldn’t have said it better. You’re one of my favs, Drew.
Totally agree 👍
Facts
Wait what? That’s the same person. It’s different actors.
Pickles in the back with his whole "Let me at em, let me at em!" attitude is a whole vibe
Pickles would always have your back. He'd probably be next to useless, but he'd be there all the same.
I love Bridgette & The Chefs, they are all so adorable together
So cute☺️

That "Tim! zip it!" from Pam and Tim just goes "Roll tide" was fun.

@@DrewTalbert honestly man that put me into tears. 😂😂.
@Heisenberg why are you posting that in every comment
I'm Irish. This is getting to classic BBC comedy level where the characters have depth and I am gunning for one or some of them each episode. Well done. Drew, what you are doing is truly original and you should be proud.
Thank you!
Based comedy
My only complaint is that there needs to be more of these videos!
I can't imagine how much work goes into making these, but dang I would be so happy if we could start getting 10 minute versions!
Mrs. Brown should make an appearance.😄

This needs to be a standard practice in customer service.
Incidentally, the phrase "the customer is always right" is a decades- old saying based on slightly different use of language. What it really meant was, there's no accounting for taste. If the customer picks an option you don't like, don't comment on it, just smile, agree and give it to them.
There was nothing in there about abusing the employees who feel contractually obligated to take it laying down with a smile on their face.
I had a boss who liked to say “The customer is always right” I got sick of it after he gave over $1200 bucks in free jewelry repairs to this lying woman I will forever call “old prostitute bitch”…(leopard one piece, hooker boots, the skin of roadkill and a drug adduct hustler vibe. I pointed out to him that 1) She was lying about everything she claimed 2) there is a difference between a customer and a criminal!!! After I told him the original conversation she and I had -he realized he was being played for a fool. I ran her off when she came back in and started to wait in line. When it was her turn-I handed her the bag with “her” repairs and I said “excuse me-The party’s over-no more freebies for you-I will call the cops for fraud.” She hightailed it outa there and fast!
Exactly! "The customer is always right" is me saying "I'm usually not a big fan of _____, but I hear really good things about it!" when I worked at Cracker Barrel, not "you need to give this to me for less than half the price because another customer moved it to your clearance section" or other generally rude or entitled behavior
That's great to know.
I wonder how it ended up meaning the shopper was entitled?
I truly hate the attitude that this saying engenders especially since the original saying was "In Matters of Taste, The Customer is Always Right. Which means even if u think that the hat they want to buy is ugly let them buy the hat they want
Amen!!! 💗
Well said!
"I would but I'm on my third strike" That cracked me up.
Frickin' Nico, man. lol

Same! I caught that too 😂
Hell yea Joey!!! I had a cook at a restaurant once that always wanted to know when someone complained. On many occasions he would walk out with a clean fork and knife and taste the customer’s food right off their plate right in front of them and say “I have no idea what you are talking about, it tastes fine to me, but we can go ahead and remake it”. The shock value alone was EVERYTHING. Man those were the days
chad
Sadly can never have those days again cause people are sensitive and shit 🙄
Ooooooo awesome

@@1snorelax dude..... yesss
The best I ever got was, "that's not my problem," later followed by, "I can't read the handwriting on these damn tickets, so I 'accidentally' made an extra plate of your favorite meal. Will you do something with it so it's not just sitting back here?" Ah, expressions of love from the back of the house.
Aww that’s actually super cute. Some people just have a different love language. Some don’t really show affection, friendship or having your back with words. Taking the time to make your favorite dish is really sweet 😊
We really are like that. Usually we’ll just say “dudes a dick, not our problem. Refire table X” UNLESS it’s our top/favorite server. I remember last year I did somethin similar to this (used most of the same lines actually) when someone made my favorite server come back crying. Told the dude at the end “only person in this entire restaurant that can make her cry and get away with it is me, every chef has their server. She’s mine. So how about you apologize and I’ll remake that steak for ya.” Manager was standing right behind me and when I said “she’s mine” even he started nodding like “yea he’s got a point” lmfao.
chefs: "these god fricking servers... get out of my kitchen!"
also: "ok wich one of you is fucking with the servers!"
Absolutely! As a cook, servers sometimes piss me off and are impatient, etc. But the moment you see one crying in the walk-in because a guest was an asshole to them, you want to beat somebody’s ass for messing with your family.
We need our servers. If the server is upset it slows down the whole service.
And if I yell at a server or get annoyed it's because of the work. It's never personal. But when someone cries it certainly is personal and then someone (could be me and has been me) went too far. Listen man, if someone cries you went overboard. A restaurant is a place where you have a crew and part of that is standing up for your coworkers.
It really do be like that man 🤣 we’re the only ones that can yell at servers, and even then we each have our own server that’s our favorite that we’ll get in another cook/chefs face for yelling at 🤣 no one fucked with my server after a while, it quickly went from me yellin at them to just glancing and going “she’s mine, back off” and everyone would. Usually. There’s always that one idiot in BoH that don’t listen
I had a guest who thought it would be funny to complain about finding a tooth in their food. Apparently their partial had fallen out, and they thought it would be a cute joke for the server. (Me). It was my first serving job at an upscale restaurant , and I was so upset, I thought I was going to get fired or sued… and I went back into the walk-in beet red and burst into tears, where chef found me sobbing. I told him what happened, and he took my hand, and popped his dentures out with the other and slid them into his coat pocket. Then he walked me out to the table, and said in his best hillbilly voice:
“Mith Thara thed you foun a thooth in your Thee bone Theak? Thank god ya foun it! That wath my lath one!!”
And he plucked the partial from the side of the plate and slid it in his pocket!
The entire table roared with laughter, the wife couldn’t breath, just saying “I’m peeing! Stop! I’m peeing myself”
And I was able to go from terrified crying to red faced laughter in seconds.
This is awesome! This is one of those stories that not only has a good positive vibe to it (thanks to an amazing chef), but is one I wish I had been there and seen in person!
omg that's awesome!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome. What a visual
I’m glad it ended well but yeah I hate when customers (in retail) try and joke around. Off the clock I love jokes, but I’m working. I don’t know you. 9 times out of 10 a customer isn’t joking.
@@DeathnoteBB same. Worked at a bar and the amount of times people would "joke" about wanting a free drink, but its like theres always a few who are serious
Firstly : I was never part of the cool crowd when I worked at restaurants, somewhere between a Bridgette and a Tim - but not as mean & grumpy as him. Was just the nice and reliable type, definitely not the pretty one, but the one that did a few extra shifts, stayed out of kitchen politics & just got sh*t done aka super boring but a hard worker.
So one time, when I was the maître 'd at a restaurant, an irate customer refused to compromise or concede anything after a waitress slightly fudged up his order. He seemed intent on wanting to stay angry and ripped into her, then me, even while I was trying to meet his demands and comp stuff. Like he kept accepting the offers but would still tear me to shreds: questioning my intelligence, abilities, competencies, looks etc. You name it he said it - all the soul-destroying comments in his arsenal accumulated over a lifetime, just to show off his consumer-power or whatever - he just didn't give a snot. After he vented it all out and dismissed me to get his extra stuff, I actually remained quite stoic and looked really calm...but I did beeline for the walk-in freezer and blubbered my wee heart out - snot-bubbles and all - for at least 30 seconds.
When I came out, chef was standing right outside, had this "dead eyes" look and just asked "which table?".
He had this stillness, a quietness which was super unsettling as he usually spent his time insulting the waitresses that fudge up,pretty much everyone and anyone loudly.
So I didn't "fake" argue, just gave him the number and off he went. Apparently there wasn't any fireworks or shouting at all but he simply had a cold "leave the restaurant right now" chitchat with the guy and the table was gone within 5 mins.
We never spoke about it afterwards but it was the nicest thing that's ever happened for me at work.
Ow..my heart...too sweet
❤️
When the loud ones go quiet, either they're dead or someone is in big trouble. I'm glad it was the latter in this case.
As a cook I can say we may curse we may seem angry all the time during the shift but at the end of the day you're a part of the team and nobody f***s with your team.
I'm sorry that happened to you.
In the future, I'd suggest calling out shitty customer behavior to the customer immediately. No one has a right to be rude to anyone else, even if something was messed up. If you work at a place where the management would get mad for this, well; you and rest of the staff could shut them down very fast by being very vocal about the management to the customers.
I had an office job once where the owner / manager would yell at other employees for getting the most minor stuff wrong. He never yelled at in the 8 months I was there.. because:
1) I admitted when I messed up and
2) Any time he looked like he would yell at me I just stared at him with a cold look that said, ""You know you don't want to mess with me".
He even was was sad and polite when he fired me... which, he was 100% justified in firing me.
I'm pretty sure I helped him learn not to ever yell at employees ever again honestly.
Love the way Joey immediately comes to her defense. The looks all three gave when she explained the situation. All three of their reactions scream "big brother" and I here for it. Glad Joey got his point across and still offered to rectify the situation.
As a life-long professional chef, mostly in fine dining but also in the Bistro Huddy realm, I have to say that this is the most spot on depiction of restaurant life that I have ever seen. I binge watched it for about an hour and a half when I first discovered it. This needs to be properly recognized for its brilliance Thank you, Mr. Talbert! I'm 56 and I've never seen anything like it, except maybe Anthony Bourdain or Gareth Blackstock. Thank you.
Man, I miss Bourdain.
I've never seen Bourdain but I do remember Gareth Blackstock. (Lenny Henry was both hilarious and accurate with his portrayal of how chefs take pride in kitchen hygiene, food and their staff with a massive ego). Ive worked with a lot of chefs over the years and it's great when a Chef sticks up for the waiting staff as well as those in the kitchen.
I love Drew's videos. I grew up in restaurants (my dad was a cook, grandma was a waitress and so was my mom, and couldn't find a sitter so I'd just sit at a single booth all day). Then, once I became an adult, I tried my hand at serving. Didn't like it, and switched to kitchen. I've worked a few different restaurants and his videos are so painfully spot on. I love them. I also binge watched them for hours.
Chef! Is an underrated gem and I’m so happy you reminded me of its existence 🤩
Good on joey for standing up for bridgette
That's almost as good as a plate of fries.
Indeed! ♥️
Do this in real life and they just complain higher and someone ends up getting fired, sadly
Tim is both a genuine delight and a lucky SOB for having Pam 🤣
The quick “roll tide” after that razor sharp, so late to church the pastor started, “I told yo ass not to touch nothin!”, “ZIP IT” from Pam! Hell I damn near sat up in my lazy boy 🥺
Those type of couples seem to last forever 😅 and entertainment for everyone else 😂
well it’s a delight to watch Tim anyway…but he is not a delight. Thankfully he is a pushover after anyone persuades him briefly…
On god, they are literally the backbone of staff welfare.
I remember when I was only a few months in and got a really aggressive customer who was full on throwing slurs around because of a latte art design (used to be customary at my place to show a coffee is decaf if it’s sent with an identical one which is caffeinated) which messed me up a bit, I apologised to him and went into the kitchen and start on my station, head chef looks up, baring in mind this is a bald 6’2 guy who I’m fairly sure splits his spare time between his bike, the boxing and the rugby yet still finds time to work out, and he asks me what’s up so of course I tell him and never before in my life have I seen a man with the rage of a thousand suns, was genuinely worried he was about to go remove the customer by force. He was willing to compromise by calling one of my managers in and having me explain what happened as I had just told him, and in fairness he wasn’t particularly pleased either but he took the more diplomatic approach of informing the customer that he’s barred now and not only will any return to the place be considered trespassing but we will be sure to bring him up in our next meeting with the other pubs and restaurants we’re on close terms with.
As much as the bar tenders or ‘mixologists’ as they’ve taken to calling themselves like to post Tik Toks about their ‘angel shots’, the chefs seemed quite happy with the idea of putting the fear of god in any particularly nasty customers.
line cook here, had a bartender who most of us in the back are pretty good friends with, during one saturday night one of her patrons was being really douchey and ended the night by throwing a bunch of change at her, the entire line wanted to go out and draw and quarter the piece of shit...
Let’s acknowledge the effort it took to have all those characters appear at the end just to say “nope!”
Joey backing up the front of house team. He can be a mean SOB, but it's good to have 1 when need it 😁
From my experience it's like a sibling rivalry, BOH and FOH can talk as much crap about eachother as they possibly want, but if someone outside of the family disrespects either side it's fair game to make their lives hell.
That's every job. I work in a casino, and there's a floor manager that can be a little intense, really short and brisk with employees that sometimes rubs people the wrong way. But theres no one better to have at your back when the shit hits the fans and some douche player is trying to get you fired. Dude goes insane to protect his people.
Thank you!
Kitchen rule is: Only WE can bully FoH.
@chzypai I worked fast food as a second job. Best days were when we were really busy and the whole crew was on point
Just noticed the chefs have actual chef's coats with "Bistro Huddy" embroidered on them now instead of backwards white dress shirts. 😂
I kinda liked it better the other way around lmao
Been that way for a min but yeah. Great costumes
Treat your cooking staff like professionals and give them uniforms to look at and you get better results.
I didn't even notice the change till you mentioned it.
obsessed with the kitchen crew being like "ah hell no he's not getting away with this" and his "no, that's Bridgette's job and she does it really fucking well" like hell yeah supporting each other I love them so much
What I like about this is that everyone got what they wanted: customer gets his food, Brigette gets her apology, Joey gets to let off some steam, and the other customers get the fear of Joey in them.
Tim's already been to the kitchen. He's not afraid of Joey.

Man I LOVE the chef response! I would CHEER THIS MAN! He does have customer service skills, but it’s not the “try to ease and appease” type but “confront it head on” type. Most people prefer the former over the latter, but sometimes you need the latter to get back to the former.
95% of us have that “aight let’s get it on” type of attitude of customer service. As Joey said, that’s why they usually keep us in the back 🤣 we’re like a Wolfpack. We’ll fight amongst ourselves, battle each other for the top spot, but when it comes to our pups (our servers) OH will we get violent to protect them. Especially the one single server that each of us adopts OH MAN give us a reason to go out there. (yes, cooks/chefs always adopt 1 server each, sometimes more IE if the server’s best friend is also a server at the same restaurant)
You do a good job showing the nuances of working in a restaurant, and the dynamics between the different positions. It's more important for people without restaurant experience to see, than to have "veterans" watch something and relate.
Are you talking about veterans of restaurant work or military veterans? If military then🖕.
Cheers!
Fo sho! I have friends that have worked kitchens and they definitely can confirm.
"And this is why they keep me in the back!" Accurate.
Also Pickles - you're precious.
I work in an underappreciated profession and the idea of any boss/manager/admin having my back like this made me realize I was holding my breath the whole time Joey was talking bc I thought "I" was about to be blamed, written up, fired and would have to apologize to the customer on top of it.
Damn it, that's how rude customers should be treated!! Firmly put on their place.
The expired Cadbury's was subtle comic genius...Well done!
Expired. ☠ 😂🤣😂
I just got that. Also the misspronounciation (sp?) of Cadbury made me laugh too.
I patiently await the day when Joey confronts the hipster couple
That’s where I thought this one was headed, I was on the edge of my seat as if I was getting ready to see a badass moment in a tv show/ movie. It was still very satisfying though.
Thanks for sticking up for Bridgette, Joey! She doesn't deserve rude customers!
The chef once came out because my brother wasn't eating his food (we hadn't said anything) and decided to make him something else... My brother was on medication that gave him very little appetite, but the chef kept peeking in to see if he was eating, so we kept eating parts of it off his plate, so it looked like he was eating it 😆
I think considering the way Joey can tear into servers who mess up, you can tell he was showing a lot of restraint in this situation
Tim stood up to the chef before he would do it again
Yeah he’s only afraid of Pam
@@DrewTalbert who is afraid of Pam
Tim or the chef I suspect both
My dude, these videos are everything. Seriously, I never worked in a serious restaurant, only fast food, but I can totally empathize with a lot of these videos. Not only are they funny and relatable, but the characters are perfect. I love Pickles, he's my spirit animal. Keep up the good work dude, you're really talented.
Love this! At one point when I worked fast food I had a friend who was like this with me. We were definitely the "work wife/work husband" type. Whenever he would hear someone being extremely mean to me he would get really protective. I'd go back to fast food if I could work with him again. Miss him everyday. It's nice when someone has your back and cares. I grew up being yelled at and practically bullied since I was in diapers. No one never saved me from being yelled at by members of my own family. So when someone would come to my defense in later years it would really make me feel something. Idk, cloud 9? Kinda like a princess being saved by a knight in shimmering armor. So I love Joey even more and of course Nico and Pickles. It's 3:30 and I'm day dreaming tonight so no one come at me for rambling too much lol.
Bridgette has a great support system at work. Still waiting for her to dump her bf.
I can't believe how engrossed I have become with a guy reenacting scenes from his restaurant career. This is kind of amazing.
This needs to go into restaurant training videos like Nicole’s vodka-in the-straw trick.
I've always wondered how the chefs decide what their menu's specials would be. I usually order them because I assume it's what's going to play to their strengths
It’s a 50/50. Either it’s a one-time, we got something special in and want to blow your mind…or it’s something we’ve had but we need to sell before it goes bad.
@@Tonyhouse1168 Sometimes it's something that gets made as staff meals or some such and gets floated as a potential menu item as well.

As a cook in Austin tx for 15 years this is 100% me. I worked my way to being a chef and now Kitchen manager and every video is spot on. Thank you for showing what our industry is like but with humor. It has been amazing to watch your videos. I’m glad someone can understand our world and depict it correctly. Keep it up
Love the longer skits !!
I don't care if it's just an extra 7 seconds... it's still 7 seconds of HEAVEN
i had a manager go to bat for me like this once. it was incredible, i couldn't believe it. i fully expected to get fired but instead he told those people to not come back 😭
There should only ever be 2 reasons to come out of a kitchen to talk with a customer #1 about an allergy, #2 customer that is requested to meet the chef (happens more than you would think) anything else makes for a very unpleasant meeting with us cooks....
I literally almost spit my tea on my desk when he sheepishly said “roll tide” 😂😂😂
I’m still amazed at how Drew does such a good job that my brain see each of these people as entirely different persons!
I'm amazed how hot he is in Nicole's wig
I see even the chefs took that how to deal with rude customers course with Terry
I love the world you've created Drew. Thank you.
I worked in a restaurant about 5 years in high school and college. Drew has nailed just about every customer I have ever dealt with. Drew, your acting skills are awesome! Every character is completely believable.
ha, wasn't expecting the cameo at the end! Love ya Pam & Tim! ROLL TIDE !!!! ❤️

I’ve never worked as a waitress or any restaurant position before but if y’all stand up for each other like this, it’s wholesome af
That guy really had regret in his eyes
Joey is the hero we didn't know we needed.
It’s heartwarming seeing all the chefs being protective over Brigette
I feel like all chefs are protective over servers
Dude, your skits speak to my soul, thank you so much for the fantastic content
Just the Roll Tide after he was told to zip it 🤣
Tim & Pam are my favorite. They say everything should come in moderation. But FORGET that. It’s football season. We need a before and after sketch of each Alabama game. Especially, after that close one yesterday. I just know Tim would’ve been in rare form
So true. We had a customer wanting to take us on too. UNfortunatley managers and supervisors didn’t tell us until after. Never seen so many chefs run out the back door looking for him Lmao. Keep it up.
The virgin complainer Vs the chad chef
Also love how he was respectful in a backhanded way, really good characterization. Love the chef's so much, they're my favourite characters of yours!
I feel sad, proud and angry for the same man in different wigs. You are so talented 😊
All I imagine is now that the Chef makes the chicken piccata but does something to it
Like handing it off to Chef Mikey
Or make the guest wiat a bit longer for it.
"nono, it has to be" perfect" he didn't like his mashe potatoes so we are doing a completely new batch of them. Would you look at that? I have guests who hasn't gotten their food yet. Better prio them"
Pam watchin out for Tim like he wasnt about to mow over a hornet's nest. That was the most defensive 'Roll Tide' Ive ever heard.
This was so adorably wholesome!!! It made me smile inside! It’s almost like these characters are real people in my mind after watching so many of your videos 😄
I like the vids like these that develop the characters
But also
“They were expired” got me
If only!! I was in restaurants for 11 years. Never had a chef come out and stick up for his food against a customer. The servers all took it on the chin in my experience!
This is actually some fantastic customer ineractions! Chef was super on point, aggressive but not too much, and set everything right. This is so much better than some ineractions I have seen in person.
Roll tight.
THIS WAS SOOOOO GOOD GO JOEY!!!!
As a server I hate it when the customer shoots the messenger.
Awww! There is a heart under that hard exterior. Plus Bridgette is a sweetheart.
Just when I was thinking that Tim should have been the customer, he makes an appearance. Absolutely fantastic!
Tim totally misunderstanding the tension and complaining about the fries is hilarious “Roll Tide”
I loike it when co-workers stand up for each other 😊💖
Now, THAT is how justice is served. 😂 A win-win for everyone.
I’m laughing thinking about the tiny Mexican lady who cooks in our kitchen “taking care of” a complaining customer.
She scary.
"so you didn't like the menudo, cabron? do you want to know how we fix this back in Guadalajara?"
That would be the last thing those customers ever see.
NEVER piss off the tiny Mexican lady.
The rag in his hands still bro im dead😂
I like this scene. Joey’s hard side comes out in the beginning then his work big brother side comes out when someone hurts his work sister Bridget.
Go Drew, I really like your channel.
Awesome when the FOH and BOH have each others' back

HAHAHAHA I love Pam
When the head chef comes out you best hope they ain't coming to your table.
I was really touched by Pickles’ grief at the passing of Her Majesty. I could really relate (though personally a Cream Egg would not be my go-to binge food).
ur too talented.. u need ur own tv show where u play all the characters
Oh how I wish so many cooks would have done this!!!love how you slipped the Roll Tide in at the end ..
I could not possibly stress enough how much pure joy and happiness and laughter you bring into the world. I don’t know if you also write everything and edit but you are an absolutely tremendous actor. I’ve said it before on your channel but you’re truly literally my favorite actor. Thank you.
the half-crazed look on joey's face as the outro music plays is just amazing.
