    Great videos!! The film does not lie and, therefore, should hold all of the answers necessary to correct any and all deficiencies. If you know the game well enough! You definitely explain some of those complex details so many coaches can't!!

    Brilliant analysis, as always; thanks for posting! And TB12’s mechanics are like poetry in motion.

    Yes. And also, when QBS take the hitch they sometimes like to stay there instead of getting that front foot down! It’s just wasted motion.

  • @aabahdjfisosososos
    @aabahdjfisosososos Před rokem

    I think one thing I do have to fix is my front arm as it does close, but not tight enough.

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před rokem

      Yessir, common issue in a lot of QBs- just need to be consistent and block train it for a while

    Man I short arm throws quite often and I hate it when I do because I know when i follow through all the way it feels natural and I've been correcting with short slow motion type throws just as kind of a warm up that's ok right?

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před rokem +1

      Yessir it takes a lot of repetition to reconstruct a throwing motion. You’re doing the right things

    So let me break this down just to confirm.
    1. Weight should be always back (But I think all QB's know that.)
    2. Shoulders are always back when your hips come through.
    3. Rocking your weight back so your weight is on your Back foot.
    4. Closed shoulder. (Which I think is having your Non-Throwing-Shoulder close to your armpit if I'm correct)
    5. Same throwing sequence as you're getting hit I think.

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před rokem +1

      Yessir correct! Thank you for watching all the way through I appreciate the support and hope this can help

    is shoulder going back shoulder closing the same thing? also when does slapping the ball back into backstroke happen during all of this?

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před 2 měsíci

      Yessir same deal, and patting is at the same time if the front shoulder closing

    I’m in my first year of tackle football in 5th grade. I’ve been having trouble seeing over my o-line. I’m 96 percentile for my age so I’m not small. Do you have any tips to help see over my o-line and still be accurate?

    • @adrynoodle2872
      @adrynoodle2872 Před rokem

      not much you can do. maybe see if you are too low in the pocket and if your stance is fine you'll just have to work on keeping your head level and eyes down field. its part of the job sadly

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před rokem +1

      Honestly you need great feet in the pocket. I’m not a very tall guy either- when I was in high school I was 5’8 and all of my linemen were 6’2+. So to be able to see I needed great feet in the pocket to almost create throwing windows. So you have to buy some time with your feet and be able to move around in order to do so. Hope this can help

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před 2 měsíci

      No- that’s fine as long as you are rotating. I just don’t like the big leg kick

    Should tbe ball go as far behind our shoulder as yours does 2:42

    • @aabahdjfisosososos
      @aabahdjfisosososos Před rokem +1

      This is simply the throwing part of our mechanics. It’s not something to worry about unless it goes too far that it hinders our movement. So, no, not really.

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  Před rokem +1

      It’s not a huge issue- usually on deeper throws this can happen to guys- even the pros. I would checkout Patrick Mahomes deep ball mechanics he drops that ball so far behind his head it’s almost freaky- so as long as it’s not wasted motion then you’re fine
