Great video Dimes. When I’m coaching young QBs I always show them videos of boxers stances and baseball hitting stance and how there power comes from feet legs hips and upper body rotation it really helps them understand the kinetic chain of throwing the ball

Yeah recently my throwing mechanics went down the drain and I’m having to relearn everything. I’m self taught. I’ve tried watching these videos but I have a hard time implementing these tips and I overthink stuff like the guy in the video.

At the end of the day, rhythm, balance, & alignment are the 3 main pillars of throwing (in order of importance)

So when throwing a football if your non throwing arm is out and instead of tight to your body you lose power?
Yes for sure, when you put your arm out your throwing arm lags behind, and when its tight to your body, it keeps you ina firm stance, where u cant swing outside of your frame.
It’s more so for consistency & accuracy, but think of it like when u are spinning in a chair. U spin way faster when your legs are in vs sticking out. Kinda the same principle but applied differently in the throwing motion.
@@dimes. yessir, my friend throws with his arm out, and he constantly pushes with his arm and creates too much pressure. i, as a guy trying to qb for varsity next season, keep my elbow tight and rely on my legs mainly for my power. my friend is very inaccurate and inconsistent.

@@dimes. the algo must know how similar the throwing motion is to the golf swing. Bonus: I play QB in my adult flag league and my spiral often comes outkinda sideways and you also answered that question lol 2 for 1 for me baby.
