    Good to know :) my dryer stopped working after a heavy load was put into it. Oddly enough it started working after 15 minutes of waiting. I kept removing clothes and hitting start but even with nothing in it the thing didnt start. Maybe it had a failsafe built in and just needed time to reset? Either way...glad it worked out lol

    i replaced the thermal fuse, and the machine started and ran for a few moments, so i thought i was in luck. However, it then stopped running again. the prongs are firmly connected, so its not that. I suppose there's almost no chance the new thermal switch was defective.

    Quick question...I realize this is an old video. I have an Amana NED5100TQ1 I've never had any problems but I ran a load through the dryer fine earlier then went to switch laundry and it won't start. Seems there is power going to the dryer. But no buzzer sound when I hit the start button. But when I turn the timer knob it makes the sound like it's turning through the cycle. Would you think it would be the thermal sensor or possibly a power switch problem?

    Hello my dryer is drum will not turn.
    When the door is closed it makes a humming sound and it starts to heat up but will not turn. When I press the start button nothing happens.
    So I watched a few videos and tried a few troubleshooting leads.
    When the top is off, if I give the drum a little push it starts running and the humming stops.
    What do you suggest?

  • @zoktoberfest
    @zoktoberfest Před 7 lety +9

    Uhh...there was a reason the fuse blew in the first place, but you made no mention. Lint has accumulated somewhere in or along the exhaust system and needs to be removed. The fuse blew because a restriction in the path out, caused heat to build up internally, which caused the heat sensor circuit to blow the fuse. Replacing the fuse, may get the dryer working again, but the blockage remains which will again blow the fuse. Dryer and/or vent hose needs to and cleaned out where needed. Please provide a video explaining where to get, and how to use, the special vacuum hose attachment that goes down into the lint filter housing and long brushes that can clean out long vent hoses.

    • @Whitedragoness13
      @Whitedragoness13 Před 7 lety +5

      Sorry, but right in the beginning if this video (around 1:20) he said that this fuse would have blown because of a blockage. If you need to know how to maintain your dryer, simply ask him. If you need to know how to clean the vent housing let me know. It's actually very simple.
