74 y.o. single woman here. I was all set to spend $600+ on a new dryer when I thought to check out CZcams and came upon your vid. When the guy who installed the new water heater was here, he must have flipped the circuit breaker switch for dryer (and didn't tell me and didn't turn it back on). The circuit breaker was the trick! Thank you greatly!!
Thank you - did what you said, found the thermal fuse was bad and ordered the replacement part from your site... Cheers!
Resetting the circuit breakers worked! Thank you for helping me identify them because they're not labeled.
You're a really good technician thanks for sharing knowledge experience
Great Job...ordered rigid venting tube after watching.
Thank you for your help. Thermal Fuse was my problem.
You guys are the greatest! Your videos and readily available parts have helped me fix two refrigerators, one washer and one dryer! Thanks a million!
You are welcome! Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Thank you for this video, best I've seen. However after all this and still wont start, I guess replaced?
That was a helpful video. Thank you. The one omitted comment is that if all 6 items are fine, then the problem is the motor (Item 7). That's the problem with my unit.
This is amazing. Great video!
I tried all the methods and everything checked out okay. I had already tried just resetting it by unplugging it for 10 minutes, However, after reassembling everything, it now works. Must have been a loose connection on the tensioner pulley switch. I did that last because I hate taking the drum out - but... Thanks.
My dryer won't start so trying to figure out what's wrong. Thank you for the help!!!
The best video I've seen on this
You just helped me so much my friend!
Thank you !!! You save me lots of money !
Thank you very much for this easy understanding explanation. I loaded too many wet towels in kenmore dryer, now turns on but won't start. Which one is the problem? Please let me know
Super helpful!!
Wow nice video. Thanks
First time trying to fix a dryer. It was the drive belt! Thank you!
Perfect! My dryer problem was both #5 and #6 due to a broken belt. Obviously the drum couldn't rotate, and the belt idler switch shut off the motor when the belt broke. Belt replaced=switch closed, works fine.
Great Job 😉👍🏽
Great video

How does one locate the thermal fuse? How does one remove the back panel to a Kenmore Elite Dryer?
The cause of No Start on my Maytag drier turned out to be the white neutral wire was no longer making good contact at the breaker box neutral bar - even tho it was inserted into one of the screwdown holes ( and it had worked ok forever) This showed up at the drier when metering neutral to each hot side as no volts even tho across hots was 240).
A strange one….
Hi
I have the motor that doesn't rotate the drum heavy at the startpu?
I ordered my part and it has 2 wires . I have triple checked to make sure I have the right replacement which I do. And I have 3 wires to hook up to the newer version part that has 2 connection points. So where do I put the 3rd ? It doesn't work with out it .
Me too, broken belt !!! thank you Bro, we were looking at $500, or $200 just for a callout
Glad we were able to help you. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Greetings, I changed the thermal fuse and the dryer worked for a while then stopped working again. Any suggestions???
I have a Kenmore 90 Series Dryer. It went out. I was told that it would likey be the Thermal Fuse. I replaced the Thermal Fuse and put everything back the way it was. And now the Dryer still doesn't turn on. It makes a strange continuous buzzing noise. And tips on what to do would be really useful. Let me know what you think I should do. If anything, I might just end up spending another $40 or more on another Dryer. Which I feel would be a waste.
When i try to turn my dryer on nothing happens light does come on the door closes tight but i can a sound similar to a heartbeat for about 10 to 15 seconds. Any ideas what it might be?
How do I test my timer on my maytag de712 very old favorite dryer... it is not shutting off for some reason... I'm to uneducated to be able to read the schematic... and there are so many wires that I dont know which to test... they are not in harnesses... like videos I have looked at... the part is 168 dollars but I dont want to purchase one if that is not the problem... can anyone give me some really great help in showing me how to test this part.
Good the only should have shown how you determined the switch was bad
I have a 2006 Maytag Dryer. It makes a chirping noise when off so I turned it off at the breaker box so I wouldn’t have to hear it all day. It wouldn’t turn on when I wanted to dry clothes and I did turn the breaker back on. It won’t let me change anything on the control panel but it does light up. The repairman I had come out thinks it’s either the control panel or the circuit board. If I have him order the control panel and that doesn’t fix the problem then I can’t return it and I’m out $200+ . He checked and found out the circuit board is no longer available. I live on Social Security and can’t afford to throw away $200 if that’s not the problem. He didn’t check any of the fuses. The door latch was fine and the dryer vent wasn’t clogged. Can anyone suggest or know what might be wrong?
Super 🎉

I have the same dryer! What about the start button possibly being the issue?
What is the model number of your dryer? Do you happen to have a multimeter?
I changed a drum belt and now my it won't start and shocks me when I touch it? I'm almost positive I put back together exactly as I took it apart. What could have happened it worked fine before the belt broke
Same with me, no clue if it's the belt switch if it needs to be engaged during use or not. I'm thinking I messed up the wires now and frustrated over buying parts.
will the multimeter still show these readings even though the dryer is unplugged?
You are simply testing continuity, not an actual electrical reading. In other words... you are testing to see if the circuit is stick closed or open. No need for electric current. As a matter if fact, ALWAYS unplug before working on your appliance.
My dryer starts but a few seconds it stops
you forgot the main power button switch.
How to change timer
What is the model number of your dryer?
How do you clean inside the blower housing? I've not seen that in any of the many videos I've watched today (thinking my thermal fuse is dead due to blockage) :) I have a Kenmore 90 series dryer.
Forget to add if motor is bad and how test if motor has continuity .
Normally we recommend test the motor for voltage not continuity.
My dryer starts but a few seconds later it shuts off
What was the problem ? Mine doing it now
my son has an electric dryer that only works intermittently.he had an electrician out who suggested replacing the dryer. they bought a new model it wouldn’t work except intermittently so they returned it. what in the world could it be. They replaced the dryer cord , replaced the outlet. One electrician suggested that it could be a problem that the electrical service wasn’t properly grounded. The electric company said if their AC was working then it was not a problem with electrical service being grounded properly! Any ideas or suggestions?
What is the model number of the dryer? Does he have a multimeter? Could be having an issue with the fuse or a thermostat maybe. How often does the duct work get cleaned out?
Samsung Model DV400E WHDWR/AA
the duct was cleaned about 6-7 mos ago
Does he have a multimeter? Then he could do some testing of the thermostats and the fuse and see if any of those may have failed.
Who can come to my home and try to repair my dryer
You would have to google repair companies in your area and call them.
10%? That would mean a fluctuation from 216 v to 264 v. Seems like a lot. Anyway, thanks for the vid.
You are very welcome. If you have any questions please let us know.

In the video you didn't show how you take the cover off, it was all welded all around after take the screw off it still welded on and tighten. Poor video
Great video
Thank you!
