Vasili Panin ok You need to stop, as a child you never threw any food away? You where a perfect angel. I don’t think so. Get off you high horse. You don’t punish one child, one child that’s hungry because another is childish and throws it away. Childish child growing and learning. Did you ever go hungry as a child? Maybe your an over privileged individual who does not really know what this is like and was also not taught compassion. I also want to know where you got your numbers from, that sounds ridiculous. Growing up in school I only saw maybe two trash cans of trash a day thrown away from lunch area and very little of it was food that could still be eaten, and it was a medium size school. If you feel sorry for the food being thrown away demand they give it to the children that ask for it because they are hungry. Have them hand it out to the homeless if the children don’t want it, If you care so much about the food more than the children. Children throwing away food are parents and/or adults fault take it up with them, don’t take it out on children. More than likely children do this because they see adults do it and be wasteful with food. Are you a wasteful adult? You don’t have to answer, just think about what you do and what you see other adults doing. I’ve seen many adults being very wasteful and have asked if they could do something useful with it and not just throw it, at least make compost. Maybe you and others can be more productive to a problem and not just only try to shame children. Children’s faults fall on adults. Children are learning and and adults should be setting better examples.

I advise self education not education by the system your then only being taught what benefits the system the most, in America yous are brainwashed from birth that socialism and communism are all the same thing and there all the worst evil in the world. When a government are so adamant to enforce a way of thinking on its citizens then they always have a ulterior motive.
What I was saying wasn't in a sense of what to do to help them it was more in a sense of being a better person the world is full of selfish cunts after all.
How would you feel as a 12 year old kid and your parents lost there jobs and couldn't afford to pay for your school lunch, if you even attempt to say you would still encourage shaming then your clearly bullshiting.
You said teach a man to fish yes I believe in that totally, I don't agree with the giving a man a fish but If the modern world is so good then how come less and less people are now unable to do the most basic of task such as cook themself food, they depend of companies providing that food (giving a man a fish) the world isn't a socialist world but yet we are not teaching people to support themselves it's the total opposite.

Kev McCormick Kev McCormick Kev McCormick Kev McCormick “How would you feel if you 12, and your parents couldn’t afford lunch”.
I would feel hungry, first of all.
You acknowledge “giving a man a fish” is wrong, yet you simultaneously suggest the world basically needs socialism. You’re contradicting yourself.
Why do you expect “the modern world” to do anything, let alone teach “man basic tasks”? You can’t rely on the government to do that, and never has the government been responsible for that, so why do you advocate for such an unnatural state of affairs?
Also, what is your obsession with “shame”? Shame is a part of life and daily learning. Children need to be shamed, in some cases, to not be violent/mean/break-the-rules. It’s clear that the parents of those children HAVE NO SHAME, so how can they pay using their shame (hehe)? And just like the parents are allowed to live off the hard-work and good-will of others, shame-free as you promote, so too will the child. This results in generational dependence and only causes more suffering. The TRULY compassionate shame those who need shaming. And SHAME ON YOU, for advocating such harmful mentalities.

Also on backpack programs there’s usually a only certain number of kids they can give food to. We aren’t taking about shit parents that abuse kids Im talking about low income families that can’t afford food. Family’s that can afford food but fail to feed kids is something cps needs to be involved with but honestly even they do shit jobs of protecting children. And the American system isn’t focused on kids they’re focused on money. Most “free public schools” have student dues at the end of the year and that “free lunch” just gets added to a tab. Also animals aren’t plagued by a money system humans need money to get food so i have no idea why you thought that was a good argument and considering how much of our tax money goes into our military invading other countries I think we’d have no problem helping every child get at least one free meal a day

Now, I am from central Mexico so maybe you got that idea from another region? Also, I love beans and tortillas but it is not enough to have a balanced meal that any kid needs. We do have some programs in the most impoverished regions to feed kids at school and government stores called CONASUPOs that sell basic foods for the cost of the production. Also, it was clarified that the lady could not feed her daughter that food because of health problems and the people providing the food were being quite rude to her.

Do the schools really think that the majority of those parents want to default on paying for their kids lunches? They clearly can't afford to pay. Can you imagine how bad that parent and child feels already? And then for the family to go hungry on top of that.... This triggered me really bad. Even as a child, I remember the stress and understood how devastating it was for us to not qualify for the free lunch. We qualified maybe 1 year out of 12. The rest of the time, we were just shy of the qualifying mark. When I became old enough, I worked during lunch serving lunch so that I could get a comped meal. There are times that I wish my situation was unique. It makes me so sad to be witness to others still suffering from the same.

Question: I don't mean to sound offensive if I do I apologize. Does the government pay the teachers well. Because if that's not the case I think that led to schools doing that lunch debt situation. Cuz essential workers don't get money they deserve so more or less blaming schools isn't the thing. I wouldn't know what both sides of the spectrum are going through and also you could say there are those who are financial up to par (rich people) working in the school system as well so I wouldn't take away from anyone's argument about that. I'd just like to say the government is another essential part of the problem as well for that. If the essential workers got what they work for (because being a teacher ain't easy) then maybe those teachers wouldn't recommend that. If I am wrong I will accept that I am wrong on these statements if anyone's brings their opinion to the table.

Fortunately, when I was kid, I had a job delivering papers for the Moultrie Observer and would collect bottles for deposits. I mean my mom would pay for my card; but she was a single mom and I did what I could. Think about today; what would people say if they saw an 8 year old doing stuff like that; there'd be a video somewhere.
I think with the current state we find our country in; I think we can all agree that if our society had more education from the pre-school age to high school; we would be doing a lot better. How many people grew up with music class, civics, 4-H, not to mention extracurricular activities? Society is judged on how it treats it's children and it's elderly. I think we could do a lot better for both.

It's pretty shameful that some people taking these things as 'business as usual', where you can't eat if you don't pay. They're just kids. Some of them didn't even understand how the concept works. They just can't take everything away. They should at least provide something minimum for those kids to eat. It's not like we got big percentage of parents who can't pay for their kid's food. There's no harm covering one or two kids. And, I'm pretty sure that food that's being taken ends up either in the trash or staff's table.

When I was a kid my mum got me a lunch order every day and my teacher tried to reprimand her for it cause another kid was jealous, when my mum found out it was a kid who almost never had lunch she started ordering a lunch order for him every day too. We became fast friends and she would make me take extra food for him to take home so she knew he had dinner.

My school will give you lunch anyway and just put more money on the debt for your parents to handle whenever they can. Or a teacher will pay for your lunch for you.

When I was younger I kept forgetting to pay my debt so they took my tray away. My fam wasn’t financially unstable I was just a really forgetful kid. Luckily they were kind enough to still give me a sandwich. It wasn’t great but at the time it didn’t really bother me cuz I was young. My school was smart and they had a little area where you could put the food you didn’t want so that other kids could have it if they were hungry. I think other schools should do that too.

But some teachers need to feed their children too. I'd Blame the government overall for not having the essential workers get played enough for the work. Then this wouldn't have been an issue and "school debt" wouldn't have been a thing. Maybe ....

The same reason parking on college campuses should be free as well if I’m already coming out of pocket for tuition. Smh America is backwards smh 🤦🏽‍♀️

Democrats control the programs, and blacks, hispanics and elitist white people keep the Democrats in power, so the schools will never get better no matter how many trillions are spent... YES, I actually meant TRILLIONS that the Democrats supposedly spent, but think about it, if they had simply GIVEN the money away, no kid in America would even have to ever get a job! So why pretend educate them?? Simple, political control, Politicans are millionaires!!

Thank you for taking a stand. We have so much food in this country, we throw so much away, no one should ever be hungry. Obviously there is still hunger. I know what I'm talking about because I have taken the trash out and my stepmother has cooked in the kitchens. This shaming is dying a ragged death today. Enough, I've heard enough. Thank you for calling my attention to a subject I had forgotten about for the same reasons

If you don't follow orders you're fired. If you quit you can get another job. Get fired and you'll struggle to get re-employed. Hence US cops beat or kill someone, get "placed on administrative leave" and quickly dip and get another job before they get fired. "WHY HASN'T THAT COP BEEN FIRED" "oh he resigned already" 😐
