The act didn’t go viral because the world is so bad it went viral because SOMEONE ACTUALLY NOTICED. We live such busy lives we don’t notice the simple acts of kindness around us. She didn’t think of how busy the restaurant was (and how the other customers might yell at her for taking too long or tip her less) she just helped she deserves it.

To put things into perspective, consider this. How many people would be willing to return a lost wallet full of money and IDs? You'd probably get a lot of people say they would, but when life hits you with the scenario many people will back down and do what is best for themselves.

Happy for her but like everyone's saying in the comments, to be hugely awarded for an act of kindness isn't a great sign for society because that implies that we're really lacking in doing good things for others. Another thing that saddens me is how distant people or strangers are to each other nowadays, my parents always tell me how people treated each other differently back in the day. People used to treat each other almost like family and would be there for each other, doing kind things for each other, not all the time but much more common. There are many reasons for that, like how social media distances people away from each other in real life, or how gradually increasing crime rates drive fear towards each other. I wish the best for our world!!

Sometimes and a lot of times kindness costs us a lot personally as humans when people trample all over us and we’re nice and kind people and get walked all over and left in the friend zone by women, and taken advantage of. Niceness and kindness are rare in this world because they are very rarely rewarded and nowadays typically niceness and kindness are stomped on and the nice kind person is punished. I don’t want to be nice or kind anymore. Genuine is what I’m shooting for.

Some comments here say what has society come to that for simple act of kindness gets u this reward. Well there is so much negativity and hate that I am happy to see this, and yes outside looking in this may seem like a small thing. But to the two beautiful humans involved this is a big deal and means a lot to them. This awesome young woman didn’t care about race, religion, background, etc. she seen someone who asked for help and needed it, without question she jumped right in. What an amazing gesture by an amazing person. We should not critique this, it is a beautiful moment that we should all take in, and be more like her.
    God Bless
